    Really enjoying your well made videos on Enduro style ebikes. I put together and have been enjoying a BBSHD mid drive MTN bike setup but am so intrigued by the powerful Enduro hub drive setups. Really considering an EEB/Qs205 setup for the future. So much to learn still!

    The one you referred to Enduro E bike. The frame with the red thumb screws. I built with this frame and use it primarily for Enduro. I put some Michelin star cross 5, soft. I’m running a QS205 6T with sabvoton 200amps unlocked.
    This frame can handle some abuse for sure! For trail use I normally don’t go past 120 dc Amps 350 phase for range purposes. Plus any more amps with the 6T winding it’s just insane torque. I do some pretty gnarly hill climbs with this 6T. But it has its limits especially with DNM suspension LOL
    But yeah I just wanted to comment and say it’s a really strong frame with the carbon steel. I take it to the mountains and ride with KTM’s 300s and most of my buddies have side-by-side’s. So for anyone needing a frame for off-road use This is the one to go with 👍

    I'm glad you used the cs20 frame I've liked that for a while but don't see them. I think I saw one guy in cali riding one and he was claiming he made it called it a lark after himself lol... that's prob my favorite frame of that style... also really like the vector ebike with the hub motor mounted as a mid drive motor. That's awesome you can buy those frames and build the bike on your own since vectors are over priced.

    Thanks for the information. My favorite is the Le-Bui tube design... the reason it's my favorite is because I'm a welder and out of all the frames you listed, this one seems like it's really flexible. If you're in the DFW area and wanna play with some builds let me know. If your designs are good, I'd build you a couple bikes for free just to get a copy of your prints. Check out the software bend tech. It's kind of expensive but if you're into tubular designs like the trellis frames on racing motorcycles, it's great software to have. It calculates bends, creates cut templates, dxf files, etc... I don't have anything related to motorsports on my channel, but if you're interested in TIG welding check it out.

    That last stainless steel frame was nice. Switch that for chromoly and you’ll have a super nice frame.

      I know that was one of the things I was kind of disappointed about, chromoy would be lighter for sure. I may ask him if he would build one out of chromoly. Or maybe a high grade aluminum

      @chucknoob7041 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@samjohnson517
      Just a couple thoughts: Chromoly itself isn’t lighter than steel, it’s just so strong that thinner walled tubing can be used reducing the weight. I believe aluminum requires heat treatment after welding. I don’t think a lot of places know how to do that properly. From what I understand a higher end bike brand had problems with frame breakage and the thought was the heat treatment was performed incorrectly.

    It’s all about the CS20! Mine is on its way. Not only is the aluminum light rectangular tubing with nice welds, but it’s so over built that I am turning the top tube into a sealed speaker box with embedded phone slot and below on the lower tube I’m going to cut in a remote tire pressure lcd gage, Mac Mini and separate juice for it all. Also one of those resistor led J plugs for electric car charging station capabilities. Next I gotta find a good spot for a long thin display. Maybe from lever to lever with a sleek guard. Going to drive a 3-slot matrix video wall card so either side has rear view mirrors (via tiny cams) and the Mac in the middle.
    It’s videos like yours that lit my brain up. This shit is so fun! Nice production, man. One of the best.

      @@samjohnson517 I will for sure. While it’s and the dock I’m building a ramp to get up six stairs. I should plan lighting and spot to do it now so the unboxing looks good.
      Here’s another hop up...I’m going to yank the seat, cut a slot. In the frame and slide in a corvette leaf spring. A little flex, a way trimmer rear. Gotta make a good spot for the controller and mounting 10A charger with cord on the damn thing, too,
      See what happens when it takes two months to get here! Idle hands make trouble.
      Oh yeah, heated seat and grips, 4 teenee webcams and a removable rack to hold a OneWheel.
      Dude. I need a chick.

    If you not in the high budget you can find a NEXT POWER CLIMBER as this frame is just like the Enduros as it is perfect of going over 30plus mph of handling and comfort. I have another e bike MTB with just front shocks as the Bike rides rough when on rough pavements , bumps, dips, pot holes, ect. With the Next Power Climber the bike rides awesome and smooth going over these conditions on road. You can tell just looking at frame and also a PLUS for FRONT HUBS. Just a bit hard to find now since its older model but seems the Enduro e bike based this design from it, just the bottom shock is a bit more downward assuming copyrights designs.

    I'm going to be watching every single enduro bike video you've put out, great stuff.
    I'm in the process of building my 2nd DIY ebike, but I think I after that I'm going to be looking at a 3rd build for a higher power enduro-type bike. I know you've been pretty much just building your bikes part by part, but do you have any knowledge of the build quality of the prebuilt enduro-type ebikes floating around on aliexpress? It is tempting to drop 3 or 4 thousand to just get one of these bikes without having to do any of the assembly, but I have concerns about buying something that could be expensive junk.

    Have you found any universal rear racks or moto seat racks that are compatible with the Enduro frames? Eleek and Delfast make some rear rack options but not sure if they fit other Enduro frames. I ordered the common Enduroebike frame with the plastic sides to go with 205 5T/ Sab 72100.

    • @samjohnson517
      @samjohnson517  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No I haven't but since it has a tire circumference of a standard 26 inch mountain bike wheel there may be some standard racks that could work but you might have to modify the bracket, that's a nice frame and that 5T motor is going to have some torque

    Hi Sam. At the 1:30 mark you were talking about these frames not really being able to hold up to extreme use. Could you expand on that just a little? Am I going to be able to do some downhill bombing on this frame or what are you thinking the weak points are?

    • @samjohnson517
      @samjohnson517  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello and thank you for watching, it mainly has to do with where the rear shock mounts and the swing arm that's a very weak point, I actually smashed the mount into my swing arm and cracked it I go over it in my Enduro review video. I think a longer stiffer shock would have helped but it's still a weak point.

    Interesting that the less steel or aluminum the frame has in its construction, which is strength, the more it costs ? Obviously all the metal is thinner too. Strange. Oh, if you want a really good frame design look for a 64 degree head, its the best for control on any surface, wet or dry. Very good video thanks for the great info !

    • @marthamryglod291
      @marthamryglod291 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The raw materials cost nothing relative to the additional engineering and precision needed to make a light but strong frame, especially one that is a clean slate design. I imagine with today's prices, all the aluminum needed to make that awesome $13,000 frame would cost less than $1,000 including the head tube and bottom bracket.

    We purchased this Vivi 27.5” electric bike and a Tentaquil 26” electric bike for our 13 and 14 year olds. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxUiL0GnyDjP32RJdd660sP8mZk4CRLTCJ The Vivi was much easier to put together. With the Vivi, there was a video link to assist with assembly which made the process easier to follow (we did put the handlebars on upside down, but it was a quick and easy fix). With the Tentaquil, the assembly was not as simple to follow, but after we messaged the company for an assembly video, it was easier and they did respond quickly. The other major differences were that the Vivi has a grip throttle on the right handle (like a motorcycle) and the Tentaquil has a push throttle that you use your thumb to activate. The monitors were also different, so if you’re looking for something specific in terms of changing the bikes functions, pay attention to what the monitor offers. We were really impressed with the overall quality and functionality of both bikes, but if you’re looking for more power and an easier assembly, definitely go with the Vivi!

      Hello I guess I'm not understanding what you mean it's better to have the bottom bracket on the swing arm because that eliminates chain tension issues when the suspension compresses. My bottom bracket is mounted on my swing arm and I assure you I get full suspension travel standing up or sitting down

    “Downside it’s narrow” the best thing and most important thing you want in a mountain bike is it’s being the most narrow for aerodynamic.

      Hello yes well it's a downsize because it limits you to the battery size that you can install.

    Replace all those Allen head screws with thumb screws. It's a few bucks.

    • @samjohnson517
      @samjohnson517  23 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yeah I thought about it but the problem is they would stick out and I would constantly bang my knees on them. It works on the other frame because the area where the thumb screws are located is recessed.

      @@samjohnson517 I'm undecided whether to get the 21 inch motorcycle ones or the 26 inch fat tire. Are you saying that the fat tires can be uncomfortable to ride?

    • @samjohnson517
      @samjohnson517  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@imed9774 well it depends on the power you're putting down but I would never go with any size bicycle wheels, you will be dealing with flats bent and broken spokes because of the weight and the power. I went with 19-inch motorcycle wheels and it worked out really good the only downside is trying to find tires in that size. Some people go with an 18 rear and 21 front but I don't like the way it looks and I was concerned about handling on the street.

    Ok, so i know it cost more to diy mod my aluminium Mongoose MTB frame, but at least it don't look off-the-shelf. And 28 tamper resistant Torx screws, on each side, does make bike thieves think twice. They want one easy to snatch, like yours.😁 Remove any key switch, and install a keyless remote/alarm system. Mount the speaker, in such a way, that it can't be seen or cut. Then listen to bike thieves when they say, Yo, that a U-lock! Buy the fattest U-lock you can find.
