This layout is stunning! What a fun find. My parents recently moved and my mom sent me pics of the old pics she dug up. (Along with tons of other stuff!) It was a fun walk down memory lane.
It is so fun to go through old photos! I like seeing the details in the background like old places we used to live and toys we had.

Hi Margaret, the black mat is called a Versa Mat and it’s very helpful. It’s from Close to My Heart and I do have a friend in Australia that is a CTMH Maker and fellow youtuber. Her name is Janice and here’s a link to her store janicegilhooley.closetomyheart.com.au/
It took me nearly 70 years to get my photos from my dad only to find that he was a shocking photographer & so I ended up with the top of my head chopped off in the few baby photos he took. In actual fact most of my cousins on my mum's side of the family have photos of me & my siblings & we have very few which was very disappointing & no I never got any copies from my cousins even though I asked. For several years I used to make beautiful gowns for the lasses when they were finishing year 10 or year 12 graduation, then ended up with a couple of girls finishing 6th grade who wanted to dress up to kill. I even had one or two who came back later to have their dresses restyled for evening cocktail wear after they were in the workforce. On top of that was all the flower girls, bridesmaids plus bridal gowns so it was full on with lots of prayer before attempting any of the outfits as you are dealing with a lot of money when it came to the cost of their fabric & no way did I want to make a mistake. The hardest one to make was for a 15 yr old lass who wanted a backless dress. In the end she settled for strings to cross over to keep the dress on her. I did suggest superglue was the only option. 😅 You look absolutely beautiful, quite stunning with your auburn hair.
I love this story! I’m sorry you don’t have many old photographs. My dad literally hated cameras so his pictures are few and far between and it is sad! I do hope you document your dress making story. I bet those gowns are beautiful. I love that some came back to have them altered into cocktail dresses.
