New staggering losses and increasing mayhem are rocking the Russian Army

  • Chuck Pfarrer, a former squadron leader of SEAL Team 6, explains why Russia, despite having substantially more troops than Ukraine, is failing to make significant territorial gains. Pfarrer points out the multitude of striking indications that Russia has neither the strategic nor tactical ability to execute complex missions. The failure of Moscow to pull off battlefield victories will only worsen when Russia sends newly drafted "people," who could not be considered "soldiers," says Pfarrer, as they so desperately lack sufficient training, to the front.
Pfarrer, a special correspondent for the Kyiv Post, who has advised the "full alphabet soup" of US national security agencies and is a leading figure in the analysis of the war in Ukraine, lays out the case as to why Russia's losses so far have been disastrous and explains the many signs pointing towards an abysmal summer ahead for Russia. Russians soon to be mobilized should not delude themselves with fantasies of victory: Like nearly all of the Russian soldiers who participated in the initial full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the newbie Russian troops will be headed straight to the meat-grinder.
Chuck Pfarrer is a former squadron leader of the US Navy SEAL Team Six. He has served public and private sector clients as a military and counter-terrorism contractor and non-proliferation expert. Pfarrer has written extensively on counter-WMD proliferation and gray zone operations. He has written an op-ed for the New York Times and the Knight-Ridder Syndicate and has appeared as a writer and counterterrorism expert on CNN, ABC, MSNBC, Fox, CSPAN, NPR, Voice of America, Al Jazeera, Al Hurra, IPR, and America tonight.

Appreciate that this relationship is one the USA encouraged! The USA wants control over and wants to supply what ALL militaries need. By stepping back and allowing Europe to take up that ground, the USA is going to lose that military position -- bottom line, Europe will no longer need what the USA produces and sells. Careful what you wish for!

    • @war-painter

Europe is the U.S. number one trading partner. We do not “support Europe”. Americans have always been a little slow geopolitically. Sadly, the education system in the U.S. is so bad that we have set ourselves up to be manipulated by demagogues and dictators. Currently, one prez nominee is taking talking points from the kremlin. America is behind in science and math. Many Americans are illiterate and know nothing about geography, this much is painfully obvious, especially republicans, who are being tricked by russian propaganda. They are foolish.

the only time NATO Article 5 was used to help a nation, was to help America after 9/11. So, you ask for help from Europe but resent helping Europe? Time to grow up! Regarding Ukraine, USA's obligation is much greater - USA induced Ukraine to give up its numerous nukes in exchange for security guarantees. Time to honour these guarantees, don't you think? Thirdly, Ukraine is fighting to maintain freedom and democracy of the West and the current rules best world order. USA is *the single greatest beneficiary* of the current world order. Ukraine falls, this order - the basis for your prosperity - falls, too. Your children would live in the USA worse than North Korea. Don't sell out your long term prosperity and freedom for being a short term miser

Whilst I understand what Chuck says about the Russian attrition rate , Ukraine also has a high rate of casualties. When or if the supplies do get to Ukraine, will there be enough experienced personnel to fully utilise the advanced capabilities. The West really needs to get it act together. I find it disheartening how politicians act , making false promises, and headline grabbing statements for their own political ends. Russia on the other hand has reliable partners in Iran, North Korea ... this shows me that democracy loses
