Command to beat a wife or a child is for the purpose of discilpline not for an abuse of authority ,Experience has proved that some women and children correct their behaviour only when they are beaten, The Holy Prophet has advised beating as a last option when all options have failed and a wife is not fullfilling her duties as a wife while her husband is fullfilling his duties and obligations towards his wife as per command of Allah. Wife and husband have equal rights but husband has an upper hand as the head of the family because husband is an earning member and wife isincharge and manager of the household , If any one violates his/her duties and obligations towards one another as per command of Allah , he is commiting sin punishable by Allah . As you have mentioned men are more violant and criminals than women , I agree , This is because , these days ,No one reads and obeys Allah's book ,Chisten , Jews or Muslims , all the same . There is a difference in between beating for discipline and beating in anger, beating in anger is not justified , a father or a husband creates fear more than physically hurting , Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) advised not to beat on the face and only and only when all options have failed . I know many such cases where beating worked and disciplined the person, I was beaten many a times by my elder brother because I had a company of indescent friends and I started smoking , I have a lots of respect for my brother who prevented me from a circle of bad boys. There are good and bad men and women, yes, men have a higher degree of anger than women, the best solution for a woman is to hold her tongue under control, be calm and patient when her hsuband is angree, when husband is in a good mood let him know where he was wrong , if he is a God fearing husband , he will realise and correct his behaviour , If he is not a God fearing person, follow the options The Holy Quran has stupilated, Allah has created us and he knows our Physicalogy , In surah Baqra , In order for you to understand The Holy Quran and get guidance It is a pre requiste condition to : Quote: Surah Baqra: [1-4] Alif.
