SO TRUE!!!!!!!!!! I always wanted to to see a scene or scenes where you see an example of her “commercial piece of shit” acting past. Maybe a television commercial of Sarah promoting a tacky beauty product or maybe a scene from a cringey soap opera… that Eddy is watching while casting the movie or something …. just anything to show the contrast in her past work compared to “mother of mirrors”. Would’ve given us a whole new dimension to her character. Just like Abby in the next best thing. We needed a scene of how she interacts with her family. Rupert says “your Wacky family” and that’s the only time u hear anything about her family … the audience really needed more. #depth
Ms performance in this dark movie is very interesting. It's her one role (maybe next to A league of their own) where her M persona does not take over the character. I think there is alot of chemistry between her and H Kitel. He is really good in this...except again its such a crappy film. I'll blame the director. I keep thinking with the help of AI and editing - this film could me molded into an interesting movie. One interesting aspect of this movie if you notice...M was still M in this movie. Her voice still over annunciating to great effect (which i Love) if you notice post Evita her voice and mannerisms changed a bit. I know we all change over time but I believe she consciously did this. Her voice tone became less street-smart 'ish and more lady like. Plus I'm just sayin i think this was her last film with her old face. I believe the surgical tweaks started soon after this movie timeline. Sorry to get off topic. This subject could be an entire podcast episode. Loving the M summer movie Marathon! Thx
In Japan this was released as “Body 2: Snake Eyes”. “Body of Evidence” was “Body” when it came out. I remembered thinking “How could this be Body 2?”. In “Body”, she…… no spillers 😆
I always loved this film. It isn’t a great movie nor is it the type of cinematic favorite one returns to for pleasure, but it captures the essence of its era and it has a unique grittiness. The fly-on-the-wall voyeuristic quality of the film within a film about a film teases a type of perversity that successfully causes the viewer to feel discomfort, even disgust. I don’t think you’re meant to like any of these characters, and I can’t imagine anyone being naive enough not to understand that this is a full-blown indictment of the vapid and morally bankrupt world of filmmaking inherent to Los Angeles that still exists in an only slightly different capacity today. I’m betting Griffin Dunne is the guest! He has a new book out.
😢Viewed twice, so heres my contribution to the review discussion: ❤as a WLW it was incredibly difficult to watch and absorb the violent content in this film ❤as film, its brilliant, arthouse, intelligent. I believe M at that time would have been drawn to the dichotomy of the key themes of madonna/whore ❤as a woman, I have huge respect for the way Madonna played the part, drew from her own experience, then expanded on that. Madonna is extremely intelligent with a rich life experience to draw on. She would have loved the irony involved in taking and playing this part within a film ❤Madonna and her co,-stars have brilliant relationships onscreen. Can easily imagine her hurt when the finished product ignored her input
Madonna is so good in this movie! What a real shame she didn’t get the credit for this performance. Her best performance on screen.
Evita! Next! Excited 🌈👑
Until today just noticed indeed there was no promotions and interviews made about this movie 🤯
Susan!! Good going stranger!
Not a movie I need to revisit often...its depressing and dark but still an amazing experience and she is brilliant in it.
Welcome back Tony!! ♥
So sorry I wasn't here for the Live...Evita next...I shall be ON! ❤👑
James Russi was in 'Extremities' with Farrah Fawcett

this is the worst film Madonna ever made and the best performance she ever gave.

I watched this again recently- her performance is great but the film is so abrasive and depressing
