Hauling livestock is about as close to old school trucking you’ll ever get these days. There’s a reason you don’t see livestock haulers running modern conventional trucks and still driving long hood trucks.
Yep like the saying goes " everybody wants to be a bull hauler - till it's time to do bull hauler sh*t " . Just last week pasture loading cows & calf's got hit in face w/ Alley gate when a cow came backing up at light speed hit gate - gate hit me in head broke my nose and put BIG gash on forehead. Blood went flying. That was in 1st. 30 minutes. Still had 20 cows & 30 calves left to load and drive 4 hours . Looked like something out of a Friday 13th movie when I got them to sale barn . These cows not only never been on a truck hell they never seen a truck . That's how it goes sometimes hauling livestock ...
what most ppl don't understand. Yeah some cattle are mean and will get you, but its them gate that hurt the most at times lol main thing is your all good now.
Very nice video! I love those long nose Pete’s. I wish I could find a place to work and drive rigs like these. I have years experience and unrestricted CDL A. Never hauled livestock or anything cool like this in your video. Thanks for sharing!
I hauled cattle for 15 yrs up here in north dakota mn and wisconson even down to texas.id love to get back intoit.yall be safe and keep it between the ditches rubber side down.
@@rrobins9857 I know I was before health took me out of my rig, and working period. Sucks. Still got my vids, and other people's cattle hauling vids I can watch tho
My grandpa runs a grain farm. Before me dad quit, he and I every winter (or when the bins where full lol) would haul a few loads of corn there. #KeepThe18WheelsRolling
I never wanted to haul livestock. I guess if I was born into it, it would be different. Closest thing I got to that was hauling a hopper bottom to feed mills. I enjoyed that.
I remember old school when I came in back in 90, Bull Haulers on I-10 would pass with flames rollin out the exhaust. I wanna do it just for the paper logs and Hood
No offense but that's the wrong reason! Hate to say you probly won't last long at all! Cow hauling you either love it or hate it. But if you try it I hope the best for you!
Love it brother, thank you for sharing, unfortunately for me , and i am sick about it, not hauling cattle, right now. Hauling dairy, is got benefits i couldn't pass up, where hauling cattle there's is none
I grew up with this my uncle was a bull hauler a black 96 international i900 eagle with the big cat moter my dad did grain and oil with a white international eagle cat motor and my grandpa over sized loads with a blue frieghtliner
Take a screw driver and spread those pins, just a little, that will give you good contact on all circuits. If your pins are solid take a pair of needle nose vise grips and bend them just a hair.
yeah,I woke up in a pile cow shit, with a huge cow licking my face,,that was my first day,and my last,,thanks Darius scott,,you proved to me,,it's not for everyone..😂😂
Don't want just anyone but damn sad truth is no one wants to do it right now. Currently pull hopper till I can get a pot of my own and then I'm going back to livestock. Hopefully sooner than later. I miss it.
Seen new drivers say they want to pull livestock and either quit after a few weeks cause they can't handle the sleepless nights or they roll it thinking they can drive like a freight hauler. But there's some out there that will train. I would if it was the right person.
@@lincolnbates13 Talking about sleepless nights, how many miles does a cattle truck average a day? Driving your usual 11 hours a regular Joe can cover 700 miles easy. I’m guessing a cattle wagon has to cover 800-1000 miles a day? Or am I wrong?
@caaguilar82 it all depends where there going but to give you a idea. I picked up a load of hogs once and drove the load 14 hours to Curtis WI. And that load came from western Nebraska. Once there on trailer you can't stop no matter how tired or weather. A 10 minute cat nap will make a difference. Seem loads picked up in Minnesota amd taken to southern Texas. It just depends.
@@lincolnbates13 Minnesota to Texas with only fuel and 10 minute naps for stops along the way. And here I thought I was a rough rider. 😂 New found respect for cattle haulers. I salute you sir. 🫡
My husband painted that truck. He's sitting here watching the videos now. 😊
It’s so pretty! 🤩 good job!
Your husband needs to paint my truck

We hauled plenty of mexican cattle durning the winter to kansas and never put shavings in a trailer
yeah, I hate them. I still have 2 of those bags in my jail.
🤙🤙 rock that stock brother..
Lol you can take them Flys back to Tennessee with you lol we don't want them here. Lol
How would you recommend getting into cattle hauling? Did flatbed for a year n a half. This is what I want to do next
Ain't any feeling like trucking coal in Southeast Ky or hauling cattle to feedlots in the Midwest
You have to be able to count in order to haul livestock and no flip flops lol.
400 miles a shift won't cut it either
@@rrobins9857 Definitely won’t unless you’re only going 400 miles. 😆
I wanna haul cattle. How do I get started
Feedlot at 14.10 is at Fort Morgan, I haul a lot of hay into there. I absolutely hate that scale
I hate driving all night and getting to Morgan Dinklage just in time to wait for them to weigh fats
