01
Avoid using low-quality articles (q3,q4,websites...)
there are Gold articles {review articles, meta-analysis}
better journal + wider reach + more audience --> higher impact factor
02
lack of landmark & seminal literature:
you may want to use up-to-date literature
BUT
you have to show the development of your topic
where did the journey begin?!
03
lack of up-to-date literature:
show state-of-the-art
show both sides of an Argus (+/-)
04
lack of Story-Telling:
do NOT read articles ant then read articles and then read articles
and then produce a dis-jointed series of WHO said WHAT ... WHO did WHAT ... etc.
you need a STRUCTURE for your lit-review
IF you are reporting what a set of studies concluded, THEN it is time to STOP it
it should not be a summary
05
Include irrelevant/unfocused stuff
always ask yourself: HOW does this thing RELATE to MY CORE THESIS QUESTIONS ans TOPIC?
If you couldn't find an answer then DELETE that, it's hard but DELETE it
06
poor chapter structure & layout
IF you fail to plan --> then you plan to fail.
07
poor referencing & plagiarism
which is obvious :-)

Thank you so much. I am preparing right now for my proposal for my dissertation paper. This is a really great help. You have mentioned excel cataloging the literature, how to do it? is their application on it.
Glad it was helpful!
The link for the Excel catalogue is in the description :)
thank you very much for the work you do. You are saving me from failing my thesis.
That’s super stuff! Anyone can help me with my question.. my conceptual framework that was developed was novel and in my routine search of literature review, I notice someone mention the “need for something similar” in his conclusion para. It was not a direct reference to what I had formulated but a fragmented suggestion if I may put it that way. Will that be labelled as plagiarism? That’s bothering me
Hey I watched the whole vid and it was awesome. thank you ... so much.
Which the student must start with, introduction to the study or literature review..
Thank You.
Thanks for your time and effort. I didn't know literature review can be this easy. Thank you.
