Wow a BMW that doesn't look like crap, real shocker these days. Maybe they finally got the message. Looks well thought through, modern but has all the unmistakable BMW beats. A confident and elegant design that actually looks finished.
You said it right !
and they didn't fuck the interior up with a bunch of screens everywhere either. It's basically the 8 series interior for the most part, which is the best looking interior they have at the moment.
Oh.... By the way: BMW has record year after record year and is the Nr. 1 premium carmaker on this planet.
How about that....??
BMW design can't be that "crap", you are claiming.... You clueless trashtalking mor....on 🤣
Judging by the new LCI 1-series, they didnt get the message.
@@TheGamingNorwegianYeah, but hopefully this concept is a sign that some of the company is trying.
best bmw design in recent 5 years
BMW M5 F90, the last well-designed M5, especially the CS: Hmph
Did you see the Z4 touring concept? 🙂
... i think more than 5 years
@@subieasunayuuki that was designed before 2019
Actually they made one great looking BMW last year. The BMW 3.0 CSL. But yeah, mostly when BMW makes something actually good looking, its stays as just a concept car or a very limited run.
Reminds me of the concept cars of the 2000s. Well done BMW.
EXACTLY. It looks OLD. 👨🏼🦳
They PRODUCED Z8 with M5. 400 bhp. V8 in the last century.
@@FreshKidMEthat’s GOOD
Please BMW please more designs like this in your future products....Because i think they have been off track in their design departments. Being sharp confident in their design and being the ultimate driving machine is what BMW is about and i think they have lost in their recent years.
This is the bmw I love
You just spoke my language. Exactly
Off track but their cars are flooding roads worldwide?
Nice try😂
Well the actual production of the next gen 8 series would look like this, but with split headlights incorporated to in-line its design with the 7 series which the next gen model to be based on
Don't fuck up the production version don't fuck up the production version don't fuck up the production version don't fuck up the production version
Say that 8 times fast haha
That’s if it even makes it into production seems too good to be true knowing the current state of BMW
It’s only a concept yet..
yea, perhaps some 50 - 150 units?!.. and the door handle.. ?hm 🏁
The reality is „Neue Klasse“ a SUV with a vertical Kidney and a limousine with a Lincoln like front and rear elements..
It's missing a big fck off grill ... I think that'll be added later
Laughs in Marcus Syring
This bmw concept was what I believed to be the future 2025 in 2011
I said exactly that. It looks like a ‘10s interpretation of what the future might look like
I see it too, looks like a mid to late-2000s concept car design. In a good way
The Z4 shooting brake might be my favorite looking car in the last 10 years
Its a shame they didnt sell it. It would have helped differentiate the z4 from the supra
it's literally a Z4 but with a station wagon end... and that's indeed on production. Even ADRO is making the new M2 bumper based on that of the Z4.
same.. such a shame
Ditto. I was sooo disappointed they didn't make the shooting brake.
I just thank God they didn't use over-sized grilles and those God-aweful split headlights. I will never forgive BMW for the current 7 series. This new concept really looks fantastic. It actually looks like a BMW.
I hate split headlights so much
@@keloduma I really don't know what BMW was thinking with the 7 series - they destroyed an icon. They even destroyed their own legacy. I see some Rolls Royce cars are also getting the split headlight insult.
Sadly it’s become a trend now through most brands. For example, the new Porsche Macan also has them, and it’s most likely just going to increase in popularity
@@br0432The important thing about this BMW concept car is, that the headlights are real headlights, not just daylights. Hence, a split design isn’t necessary anymore.
@@avigatorwell the production version of the next gen 8 series would look like this, but with the split headlights incorporated into the design to make it in-line with the 7 series
Wow, a bmw that I don't hate!
Because Sharknose and okay sized Kidneys!😎👍
Idk the new M2, base 3 series and 4 series, as well as the 5 series are pretty decent. Even the new M3 and M4 are kinda growing on me. But this new concept definitely has way more confidence in its design.
@@DodgerFloof paint the new M3 lime green and it would look exactly like a angry birds pig
@@Jallu555 dude that's so funny!! very original!!! 😐
@@DodgerFloof Compare it to 2005 M3 and you'll see the difference in beauty
Everyone: NICE BMW!
me: KITTY!
frrr it looks like a cat
Car
I hate cats
This concept looks as if it came from a parallel universe in which BMW hasn’t lost its mind. I hope you’re right about the fact that this is the start of a new direction in their design.
We've already seen the neu direction in their design on 3 dedicated BEV NK Concepts, have ANY of their Como concepts made it into production?
I really hope this car could be the turning point in car styling.
Not only for BMW.
This is what is called design, simple clean lines, beautiful curves, This is how bmw should be
I disagree. BMW has capacity for this sure but they should still crank out good whacky designs like the XM (but not the buck tooth 3/4 series, those are ugly)
@@carlosandleon 2023 M4 CS: 😐
Line flow, cleanliness in shape, sportiness, body proportioned sized kidney grills! Someone in BMW has committed sacrilege against whatever they’re designing in the last 5 years! And I’m glad! Great job!!
Love the cat interaction lol.
10/10 concept
imo the front end looks like a bmw and not the back, but its gorgeous.this is the bestt interior ive ever seen, not a shitty display, the old F series refreshed interior. hope it will make it into a limited production
idk this just feels obvious, but BMW is the only brand with a vertically split grille, so a complementing center line down the car or anything exemplifying symmetry just works perfectly, not sure why they never do it and even at some point tried to hide the split grille, it's what makes the brand
They’re doing it more now - new G series cars all have the centre hood carving
Finally a good looking design from bmw- getting some Aston db11, db9 vibes from the rear lines, lights, exhaust, ducktail
The rear is straight up db11 db9 😅
I see a lot of 507 and Z8 vibes on this, quite nice.
The horizontal kidneys are so much better!
fr
I think it's missing the MASSIVE kidney grills....😂😂😂
Shhh, they gonna write this down
Stop it
@@Michaelcmorris1988they should keep the massive grilles for all their M cars, so long as the grilles stay vertical. Keep the small traditionally sized grilles for the non-M cars
Thank goodness. They have been obsessed with adding fussy details and folds/angles like a Lexus. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come! Almost reminds me of the design cohesion you see in a Volvo.
One thing notable element here is that the design is very clearly defined by the donor car (8 series). The lines are “classic”, but this isn’t in line with their new monolith design approach, because the current 8 series was conceived prior to it. What that means is that outside of a limited release of cars built on the current 8 series, we won’t be seeing this approach on any of the upcoming cars. What I would like to see them carry over is the shoulder line to headlight to grille approach. That could absolutely work with the Neue Klasse cars.
First top-tier styled BMW in many, many years
As a convertible-loving guy, I’d want the coupe version of this
Please let this be the "Future Face" of BMW...
The most important thing about this BMW concept car is, that the headlights are real headlights, not just daylights. Hence, a split design isn’t necessary anymore.
I want to see this design on all their convertibles. Scale down for a Z4. A new Z8. A full EV new i8. Etc!
I think it’s just what they intended for the 8 series to look like because none of the the cars in their current lineup or future cars like the neue klasse ones look like that.
I wish the rear didn’t look like rolls Royce’s new coach built cars too because it implies either rolls Royce got told by BMW that they should model their model like the skytop or bmw copied rolls Royce.
Doesn’t look like a car worth 500k. Looks like what a hypothetical facelift of the 8 series could be or hypothetically a new generations
The rear looks more like an Aston Martin DB11/DB12 if you ask me. Which isn't a bad thing.
@@fenrirslipI see Aston in it but really more rolls and I don’t mind car companies taking a bit of inspiration from other brands since it’s not them trying to make the same car and also because my favorite car Mercedes knows a thing or two about taking inspiration from other brands.
The rear actually gives me major Z8 vibes.
@@DodgerFloofsame here
Literally BMW owns Rolls Royce and I do see a lot of Droptail inspiration in the design
I see some Z8 influences, like the taillights and oval exhaust.
The only thing to add is PLEASE PLEASE do bring this car to market, it will be an extrem success!!!! The design is simply stunning...
I was at Como lake this weekend and saw this concept in person. It's clearly inspired by 6 Series from the 80s. One of these stood nearby at the same event. The central fracture line of the front end, the reverse slope of the nose, the sloping line of the trunk, the wide rear lights...
Truly a gorgeous masterpiece
:53 Stopped the vid for this thought: In the 90's, I used to compare BMW and Honda. Two car manufactures who make motorcycles and have never been owned by another auto group. I believe both companies have , internally, suffered from their own hype/success. Both companies have been "Bangled" in one form or another. In their search for the next great design, the designers have tended to navel gaze into the past. Meanwhile, South Korea, has arguably stunned the world with fresh designs from high end Genesis to low end Kias. Good for you BMW. This is the real future ready design you deserve! Now, Honda, wake up and actually style the Accord like a grown up.
Should’ve taken notes from Porsche and understood that sometimes radical redesigns aren’t always the way to go
Reminds of the Z8 a little bit specially the scetch arts!!! Looks really good
@Bembli take care of the lightning of your "studio" it is overexposed/burnt when you watch it from projector.
amazing car, nice video.
This deserves an RR v12 in my opinion but it's absolutely amazing other than that.
It almost looks like a modern interpretation of the original 6 series and I absolutely love it. And I pray they release it because the Z4 shooting brake is the only other recent bmw that makes my jaw drop for good reasons. The only thing this car is missing for me is a V12
It took BMW only 10 years to make the S-class Coupe.
One of the best designs, clean and elegant. Just wondering when it will be in production.
finally, bmw designed their timeless design well in a new fashion, flowy/structured lines on the front are really nice
Wow this looks good!!! I agree with your title... a real experienced designer has made this!! welcome back BMW... amazing! sooooo much better compared to the PIG nose M4's...
Makes me more angry than happy honestly...because it means that the newer designers that took over in 2020 or what it was still can make great looking cars but just choose not to
Interior also looks amazing. Going forward it will not more timeless with the single screen, and its more a car that a toy with dozens of screens.
Btw great work with changing the side skirt line, wouldnt have noticed it immediately, but when you changed it it looked much better instantly
They've finally got rid of that awful grille on the M3 and 4-series!
If its so god awful how come the m3 and m4 have been the most sold M cars of all time in BMW history?
@@G82Watts Lenscrafters opens at 9
@@G82WattsBecause of the China market expanding in recent years
@@G82Watts because sales don't equal quality. SUVs are the most demanded cars nowadays.

This is the best looking BMW since 90'. So good to see it back!
it nice to see them reaching back to their roots, should do this with all models
14:03 the European regulations have worked!!! Let’s go!!!
Beautiful design on the front end!! BMW woke up!
Now this is what BMW should incorporate in their future cars...what a beautiful design..very emotional and very muscular... those sketches were amazing
Wow, a BMW without the horrific front grill. Nice!
as old bmw owner, it is a big surprise, that bmw designs handsome car nowdays
bmw back on track
Now we are talking BMW! , glad to see somewhat of the flame-design language back
A pale light at the end of the bmw's tunnel
Damn. It's beautiful.
The grills could be slightly larger/thicker though vertically.
Still amazing.
6:57 UPSSS!! 😅😅😅
Since when was dash angled towards the driver in the 8 series so much this is proper old school bmw design
The 5 series g30 is also a classic design, especially the one with the circle LED lights...
Circle? There never were full circle ones for the G30. The stock LEDs were sort of half circle, half square (and honestly look very cheap in person) and then there were the Adaptive LEDs as an upgrade or stock in the M5, with the 2019 idrive 7 update the laser ones were added with the blue elements in them and then there's the LCI with the new, square and ugly ones that look like a Skoda.
THIS IS GORGEOUS
There is just one thing about this that I really love - the shark nose that leans forward. Yes please BMW. While overall it's a beautiful design - it's kind of a 2025 Jaguar XJS. But it's very very pretty.
I believe before this concept car one of the most beautiful BMW's in the last 10 - 15 years was last 6 series coupe, grancoupe (internal code F) with very nice lines, and clean design!
As 2024 has started, Car design are getting cleaner and meaningful again like decade ago as we used to except in early 2000s how future cars in 2020s will be.
This is one of the best BMW designs. I am glad they returned to their classic shark nose design.
I am guessing the shark nose is going to become the next car design trend, because even the new Mercedes concept car, Mythos, has a shark nose design.
It looks amazing! I just hope the M8 or M8 comp doesn’t get replaced for this😂
Maybe they finally listened to the fans and got a new designer. For the first time in like 3 years, we got a BMW that actually looks like a BMW and not an improportionate pig
Wow, way more elegant than anything from them in the last 10+ years
Now this is what a BMW should look like. Finally something beautiful out of that company. Our world is increasingly full of ugliness, and car manufacturers seem to have been reveling in it in recent years. We live in a culture that prefers to destroy art rather than create it. But this car is beautiful, plain and simple. I really hope this is a sign of better things to come.
That chamfer in the back of the concept sketches looks like an Aston martin
Tail lights are so clean
I really hope this means they've cleaned up their design department
It is an awesome throwback to the 507/Z8 style. A side vent ahead of the door would perfect the design, IMO.
I allways said BMW should return to the classic and cool looking "Sharknose"!😎👌 It still looks good! Only the Concept is a bit too high... The Proportions are still not exactly right... But BMW is on a good way!👍
Perhaps BMW could apply this beautiful design language to their 3, 5, and 7 Series vehicles! 👏🏾👍🏾😉
Well the 7 series would keep the split headlight design so does the next gen version of the 8 series
Sure hope that goes to production. Take a look with the 8 concept before. Like took a bath in the ocean once production cameout with almost everything watered down
It looks very similar to Mercedes Mclaren SLR in those sketches.
The wheels look almost similar
BMW seem to have made very stylish looking roadster Concepts over the years. None of which either became production or look exactly like the concept. Hopefully this one does.
This is classic BMW Gina design language! Complete with Bangle butt. I wonder what's happening inside the BMW design studio
Not important at all. It's just a slightly redesigned 8 Series. They didn't even bother changing the interior at all...
Only thing I’m not a fan of is how high the belt line is. Higher belt lines limit the “open top feel” of a convertible versus lower belt lines.
Lovely. If Mazda aren't going to build their Vision Coupe Concept, this BMW is a great consolation.
I’m my opinion the seating position should have been a bit further back so the bonnet is longer and more prominent. Instead of a 50/50 postition
Yea cool wow welcome back bmw! you did one of the most amazing concept that will never see production just for show us you still got it when you want and the you proceed to release a kia rip off as the new 1 series. Welcome back!
Do you think the removable roof fits into the trunk and still allows you to place stuff in the trunk as well? Love the design!
Wow this might be the first ever time I liked a concept car
Honestly, it doesn;t look terrible. Hopefully this influences the design language of future cars and brings BMW design back to earth. If they drop another concept that brings the halo lights back in a more modern way that's a winning formula.
This looks like the next James Bond Car.... incredible design
Never heard of “Hoffmeiser kink”! Learn something new everyday! 👍🏾
BMW design should look like this!!!!
Just...... build it, BMW. A modern classic.. Don't change a single line and keep the V8
Not bad. Some z8 vibes also. The bad parts are broken and dropped side line and side sills.
Holy moly ... finally !!!!! fricken gorgeous
Saw this car yesterday in Como IT. It's stunningly beautiful
Dear God! The Z8 is back in 8 series size! 🤤
Has BMW finally realized their clients don't want oversized kidneys on wheels anymore? Btw, the rear reminded me of the Z8 from early 2000's. Good thing this futuristic look has permeated once again.
Looks like the i8 roadster did a little breeding with the GINA concept BMW did a while back. Very nice 👍
Rosie (the cat) steals the show and my heart! ❤️
FINALLY...now also have a powertrain that doesn't grenade after 75K and we are all good.
Bitte den nächsten 8er genau so bauen! Als Cabrio. Danke!
Can’t help but wonder how much of this will be in the final production version.
