My optimal controls for any of the Zero/ZX games is Attack is A, Jump is B, Dash is R, sub weapon is L then the attack mode is Type C where L switches to your sub weapon
Glad to see you're having fun with MMZ. Save assist really makes a big difference. Absolutely clearable by next time. (If you plan on farming off stream to feed your starving family of elves, I'll leave suggestions below if you're interested) Definitely not as good as Spiders, but some of the next best/simple locations. -Desert area all the way to the left. Just east of the Crash Site where the Escort started. 4 Snakes. 2 Birds. Why? Snakes only drop crystals. Birds only drop health. -Surface > Right > The Crane (where you were before). 2-4 guys that are one hittable. -Moving just enough to the left and to the right so their spawn positions are off screen will trigger their pop. I, too, locked myself out of the Spider farm (accidentally). So, I grinded the snakes. I think I could have retrieved an hour of time, though, because I definitely overprepared for the section you're coming up to now.

X5 dings Zero up a bit, and around the time this series was conceived, X5 was supposed to be the grand finale to the series. (6 was, consequently, a bit of an afterthought and a rush job, which is reflected in the game's difficulty)
Honestly, the problem with zero is not that its a step above other megamans, but its more like a fall back to the NES megamans where level design is more about memorization then reaction, they added in alot of blind drops into pit areas and such that, now for hte most part this was a problem with zero 2 and 3 but it was partialy therei n zero 1.
It's really fun watching IRyS learning the boss patterns and seeing how she improves with each attempt. The first Zero game is a bit rough in some places compared to its sequels, but man, these games are weirdly special to me and watching her play really brightened my day. i think z2 also has 1 really terrible jump where you need to use the chain to hook platforms mid air, for the snake boss, the rest of game isnt that hard, z3/z4 idr the bosses, z3 added a grab mechanic, and z4 was weird, but overall the games were really fun...

@kiwoxgen9929 I mean I played the series and beat it. It's one of my favorite games, the game isn't hard you can beat it and get f ranks. The difficulty is getting s ranks. Elden ring souls games are hard cause it has a larger difficulty level mmz games are like 60% just dash and shoot, patterns and 20%difficult jumps. And 10% mastering get S rank for the skills.
The very first boss had me worried, but you handled this game way better than I thought! Even trivialized a few of them(RIP Leviathan). I'm pretty psyched to see you continue and finish this game, you got the skills and the patience for it! 👏
This is the first Zero game so there's a lot of jank. It doesn't exactly have the worst case of overly zoomed in screen in the Megaman series but unlike Megaman and Bass GBA, it's not due to being a port of a game meant to be played on a bigger screen. Few players have good things to say about the Skill Up system in Zero 1 or 2 but at least Zero 2 doesn't force a difficulty spike to be your second stage. Then there's the rewrites. In an interview, Inafune infamously stated that he had to change his script after the release of Megaman X6 (which fully brought back Zero a second time) to adapt to the changes made without him realizing. This resulted in him trying to rewrite the story with X as the villain before management told him not to do that. As a result, X and Copy X became separate individuals. While the resulting storyline is solid, the rewrite happened too late to make new artwork for Copy X.
As a handheld title this game lent itself to grinding really easily. I remember trying to unlock every upgrade even though it wasn't necessary, the final saber upgrade took an actual eternity! But the most annoying part was randomly falling into pits or spikes lol Nice job AI-RyS! You've been doing well learning all the boss patterns

The fact you learned and defeated Harpuia so earlier on and so quickly too showed so much potential I hope after MMZ1 you'll try other game in the series too, the story and gameplay only go up from here so would love to see you experience them. Regarding the sticker under the Compact Touch, in my experience, it isn't very adhesive. I simply peeled it off slowly, then wiped the case with a water and fiber cloth. At least the stain is not noticeable on my laser edition. Good luck!
Glad to see the keyboard mania continues, keep having fun exploring it. I think having a display behind glass would be pretty cool for a future expo event, the other members could also show off theirs. Also, it might be too late but I would caution against nail polish remover for removing stickers. Most nail polish removers contain acetone and while it almost certainly WILL break down the adhesive, it could potentially damage the plastic and cause it to discolor. Alcohol might work, but I've had a lot of mixed results over the years. Heat does tend to work in getting the adhesive loose enough to pull off but will sometimes leave residue behind. Hopefully whatever glue they used on the sticker is made to be removed.
IRyS is such a quick learner she's blasting through this game even though it's supposed to be one of the hardest in the franchise, love to see her god gamer skills.

Damn this stream was super long. I mean I know she was playing Mega man 0 but wow all of those deaths. Even with the save assist she was getting super frustrated........... My optimal controls for any of the Zero/ZX games is Attack is A, Jump is B, Dash is R, sub weapon is L then the attack mode is Type C where L switches to your sub weapon

Definitely not as good as Spiders, but some of the next best/simple locations.
-Desert area all the way to the left. Just east of the Crash Site where the Escort started. 4 Snakes. 2 Birds. Why? Snakes only drop crystals. Birds only drop health.
-Surface > Right > The Crane (where you were before). 2-4 guys that are one hittable.
-Moving just enough to the left and to the right so their spawn positions are off screen will trigger their pop.
I, too, locked myself out of the Spider farm (accidentally). So, I grinded the snakes. I think I could have retrieved an hour of time, though, because I definitely overprepared for the section you're coming up to now.

There are two types of streams that can shorten the stream time: Singing and collab, so please take care of your throat, IRyS.
X5 dings Zero up a bit, and around the time this series was conceived, X5 was supposed to be the grand finale to the series. (6 was, consequently, a bit of an afterthought and a rush job, which is reflected in the game's difficulty)
Hard to believe this is only her fourth Mega Man game. Irys was picking up those boss patterns pretty quickly.
Honestly, the problem with zero is not that its a step above other megamans, but its more like a fall back to the NES megamans where level design is more about memorization then reaction, they added in alot of blind drops into pit areas and such that, now for hte most part this was a problem with zero 2 and 3 but it was partialy therei n zero 1.
It's really fun watching IRyS learning the boss patterns and seeing how she improves with each attempt. The first Zero game is a bit rough in some places compared to its sequels, but man, these games are weirdly special to me and watching her play really brightened my day. i think z2 also has 1 really terrible jump where you need to use the chain to hook platforms mid air, for the snake boss, the rest of game isnt that hard, z3/z4 idr the bosses, z3 added a grab mechanic, and z4 was weird, but overall the games were really fun...

@kiwoxgen9929 I mean I played the series and beat it. It's one of my favorite games, the game isn't hard you can beat it and get f ranks. The difficulty is getting s ranks.
Elden ring souls games are hard cause it has a larger difficulty level mmz games are like 60% just dash and shoot, patterns and 20%difficult jumps. And 10% mastering get S rank for the skills.

This is the first Zero game so there's a lot of jank.
It doesn't exactly have the worst case of overly zoomed in screen in the Megaman series but unlike Megaman and Bass GBA, it's not due to being a port of a game meant to be played on a bigger screen.
Few players have good things to say about the Skill Up system in Zero 1 or 2 but at least Zero 2 doesn't force a difficulty spike to be your second stage.
Then there's the rewrites. In an interview, Inafune infamously stated that he had to change his script after the release of Megaman X6 (which fully brought back Zero a second time) to adapt to the changes made without him realizing. This resulted in him trying to rewrite the story with X as the villain before management told him not to do that. As a result, X and Copy X became separate individuals. While the resulting storyline is solid, the rewrite happened too late to make new artwork for Copy X.
As a handheld title this game lent itself to grinding really easily. I remember trying to unlock every upgrade even though it wasn't necessary, the final saber upgrade took an actual eternity! But the most annoying part was randomly falling into pits or spikes lol

the grinding was annoying, the buster was easy AF to level, the sword was more tech specific, id find a nice spot, dash slash until it leveled...

MegaMan Zero is probably my favorite section of the MegaMan series and I'm glad you got far enough to play it.
I love how I'm not playing but I've been tortured by this series so hard as a kid that my eyes automatically looks for traps and openings for the bosses.

Regarding the sticker under the Compact Touch, in my experience, it isn't very adhesive. I simply peeled it off slowly, then wiped the case with a water and fiber cloth. At least the stain is not noticeable on my laser edition. Good luck!

Also, it might be too late but I would caution against nail polish remover for removing stickers. Most nail polish removers contain acetone and while it almost certainly WILL break down the adhesive, it could potentially damage the plastic and cause it to discolor. Alcohol might work, but I've had a lot of mixed results over the years. Heat does tend to work in getting the adhesive loose enough to pull off but will sometimes leave residue behind. Hopefully whatever glue they used on the sticker is made to be removed.

Damn this stream was super long. I mean I know she was playing Mega man 0 but wow all of those deaths. Even with the save assist she was getting super frustrated........... How did my one friend keep his sanity lol. At least she was able to learn and figure out how the boss patterns work so it is not a total loss. Though it IS fun seeing IRyS getting angry while playing these Megaman games and we agreed that Alouette should be protected, not hook up with lol. All in all, great 8 hour stream of Zero 1 and hope to see you beat this one IRyS!
