While we were in Betis checking out the old Betis Church, we decided to take a walk around the barangay. What a nice and peaceful and quiet place. The people were very friendly and greeted us with smiles and hello's.

Seeing that Timberwolves on the side of a Jeepney is a sign in more than one way. I’m originally from MN and will be in the PI this weekend.

I went to someone's house one time thinking it was a restaurant. They had tables outside so I went inside and sat in their kitchen waiting for a menu. The homeowner just looked at me, so I looked back and realized my mistake. Never make the same stooooopid mistake. Thank God I'm still alive.

wow, that walk brought back some memories. I Know that street. GF lived in that area about 3 or 4 years ago. I dug out some old pictures and found some of that street. A lot has changed, the road is wider, goes right up to the walls now, and some of those houses that look like newer construction with the cinder-block, Look exactly as they did back then. LOL , some of the places have gotten some Nice face lifts. and some are just ageing gracefully. I miss that area, it was much quieter than where my GF lives now up in Angeles

49secs in hoping I'm seeing things, a pink Toyota RAV4 Nice catch Brian! In Gaugau Pampanga. I'm told a favorite saying in the US, "Hey Joe Whata ya know?" From memory, WW2 Italy, the Italian kids would yell that at American troops. Won the kids over with 'Candy Bars'. Not my first look at Gaugau, but it a pretty neat place I like it. 10:41 in that cat didn't run like a cat, notice the back end bounce, Love the plant holders, Rippa idea who ever came up with it. Really enjoyed the walk, thanks for taking me/us, with you. Looks like a pretty kool place. Hope they have wifi for me. Which way to the beach? Thanks m8s. Keep up the good walks. Stand closer to the razor 😉 yung fella!

Hi Joe :) FYI, Betis is separate from Guagua. Guagua, like San Fernando and Angeles (pronounced 'ang -hel-es') is a city, Betis is a town. Betis is know for their wood carvings, wood furniture and pandesal. Furniture makers such as Gaza and Datu have been there for decades, probably generations. On your way from Betis to San Fernando, via Jose Abad Santos is Bacolor, which is a historical town. This was the capital of the Philippines (not Manila) during the British invasion. It used to have Spanish Style homes that were unfortunately covered by 30 feet of lahar in 1990s, as was the church (San Guillermo). The church has been "renovated" since. Many people were displaced, but many are going back to the town of Villa de Bacolor, also known as the Athens of the Philippines. I will probably post a walking video on my channel when I visit Jan 20th. If you want to collaborate, you're invited to come and I will give you a tour. BTW. If you're caucasian, most will think you are American and will be called Joe, unless you have lived in the area, like a few foreigners in town, and then they will call you by your real name.

Dude, I heard it pronounced everything from what you say to about 3 or 4 different ways, even by the Filipinos, i.e., Angeles. You're obviously not Filipino.

I like how it is in the phillipines, how you live in your own little compound. Like in the US, people can walk right up to your door of your house to see if you are home and if they are going to rob you or not. The system only works if criminals arent doing home break ins but that isnt the case.

hey dude !!! take it from me cuz I'm a filipino ... don't listen to some westerners who think they know the in & out of the philippines cuz they were there a few times or they lived in p.i for a few years ... anyway, the reason they do that cuz they take turns ( like 1st come,1st serve) ... so whoever gets there 1st to this (small) trike terminal will get passenger/passengers 1st, then whoever comes 2nd will be the next, then the 3rd one is after that, it's a rotation ... & they do that to avoid fighting each other ... and most of the drivers while waiting for their turns just play cards & gamble to kill time ... but there's some places in p.i that allowed trike to roam around the city like in tagbilaran city,so they don't need to take turns, they can roam freely around the city to find passengers like the cabs/or taxis in a lot of western cities .... good day !!!

You should stop taking Lut Lut with you everywhere you go so that you can film the pretty girls. I can see that you want to, but it is obvious that you have to be sly about it and therefore you don't get it done
