Just subscribed in the last few weeks. Great videos for a rookie officer looking to expand medical knowledge. Would love a video talking about where to find quality supply companies that aren’t gonna sell you knockoffs but are also super affordable.
So it is a shameless self plug but I have an affiliate link for Skinny Medics store and it gives you 10% off on all the products on his page (there are a lot) and gives me a small kick back. Link is in the description of this video...
Good one, Sam! Not sure about the TQ holder on this one, as it seems to be intended for people move about a bit id be afraid it would fall out. Thanks for sharing!
Very nice vid! Gag reflex however DOES play a role when putting in a Wendl-Tubus/NPA when the patient is still conscious - watch out for that. Greetings from Switzerland!
Just found your site (which is great by the way) One question, when the pack is expanded would a TQ fit inside the internal bag? It would be nice to be able to have a 2nd TQ inside the bag for times it necessary to toss it to a buddy/patient to provide self-care in situation your not able to reach them or provide direct support .
After reviewing my state and local protocols there is nothing that allow EMT's or Paramedics to allow the use of agents like the Israeli bandage and cellox. We can use the vent seals but due to cost they are not seen in the field.
We dont have any hemostatic agents in our protocols either. Then again I live in CA where EMS is even farther behind the rest of EMS in the country. So you can imagine how far behind we are haha.

Great video! I have a question about tourniquets, you put a tourniquet above the wound even in case of a venous bleeding or should you put it below? for example if an injury affect both the artery and the vein if you regularly put a tourniquet high and tight or 2 to 3 inches above the wound the vein will continue to bleed?
@@alexmariani2807 *In Europe the use of tourniquets is still taboo and not taught in some basic classes.* *Years ago people have been taught to never use them, now it's taught again.*
@@JoeDurobot I know and that is very sad, in Italy they are beginning to do stop the bleed courses but they are very rare and at most basic first aid classes they still teach to use "arterial pressure points" and they can even work but never as effective as a tourniquet, now I have inquiring as long as possible and I'm buying tourniquets and combat gauze, I hope that b con will be soon diffused as blsd (cpr, aed)
David Andersen I will definitely keep doing the educational ones, they take a lot more time and effort though, and I am still in a state of transitioning so at the moment I am hitting the reviews pretty hard.

JoeDurobot but when the clothes is wet, i think removing it is better as it will speed up hyperthermia by water evaporation

You strip all trauma patients. You can't treat a wound you dont know is there. Anybody unresponsive really.

its decent, I like how the tourniquet is quick access and they give you the expensive stuff, still a bit pricey but the best I had seen

John Newburn what are you supposed to stop bleeding with?
We dont have any hemostatic agents in our protocols either. Then again I live in CA where EMS is even farther behind the rest of EMS in the country. So you can imagine how far behind we are haha.
The Israeli bandage is just a trauma wrap not a hemostatic agent like the cellox. If you aren't packing wounds yet you should address that.

*A tourniquet will cut all blood flow.*
*It needs to be proximal to the wound otherwise it's useless.*
*I suggest you take a class.*

Pretty rad review
I really liked your belt...who makes it? Have you done a review of that? It looks great!
David Moore yeah! Go to my “SWAT Medic Gear” video or my “first line gear video”
Which kit do you recommend over this one?
What would you recommend for a boy scout troop as a first aid kit
It all depends on the application.
Chest seal dressings present but no 10 G needle included ?
aditya lal yeah, you can burp the seal if they develop a pneumo
What kind of holster does he have?
HSG makes a pretty good kit too
whats the expiration date on these things I am poor LOL

There will be many more, I promise. Just so busy with the new house I have had to fall back on some "easier" videos to make in the meantime.
