  • This is NOT about the S&P500, this is NOT about the NASDAQ 100, this NOT about the US Stock Market. Tonight, we are talking about the Singapore news on one of our leaders, Tan Chuan Jin! He is teaching a Masterclass in Leadership. There has been a lot of comments on his new course, and there are lots of interesting takes on it. What does Mr Loo think about this topic?

Do onto others what you want others to do to you - SNOC president decided to expel the runner for his conduct while having his affair behind closed doors. SRY has also shown grace to the matter on multiple podcasts when this happened so i think Mr Loo you can try to be less hypocritical on this. Calling people idiots just because they have not forgiven him before you do is also not a graceful thing.

@@1m65 with all due respect Mr Loo while calling netizens idiots for their comments on this case while trying to arbiter of grace is hypocrisy. the ex president used his power to destroy an athlete already short career for his poor conduct while committing adultry in a position of power is also a case of hypocrisy. 10 mths can be a long time for you to have forgiven someone like that and at the same time you must have known that it might not be for some.

Loo, you were never in Soh Rui Yong’s shoes so you should not jump into the bandwagon of righteousness and put on the gracious hat and stand on moral high grounds to lecture Soh Rui Yong.
Tan Chuan Jin was relentless in precluding Soh Rui Yong of any chance to represent Singapore although he was the most qualified athlete. You were not there to understand how he felt and definitely has no idea how he still feels about his perceived unfair treatment.
By lecturing Soh Rui Yong on his lack of grace, you have cunningly stepped on others’ feet to elevate your image as a positive influencer.
It is always easy to stand on moral high ground to lecture people on what are the right things to do and what are the wrong things others have done.

Soh Rui Yong is not a wholesome person. He was barred from some SEA games because of mis-conduct. Soh Rui Yong was not happy about that. But he did not dispute the facts of misconduct that led to his being barred from some SEA games. SNOC means Singapore National Olympic Council. When SNOC barred Soh Rui Yong, it is a national ORGANIZATION that barred him. Not solely Tan Chuan Jin a lone individual. The bitterness and sense of entitlement that Soh Rui Yong had, makes him target Tan Chuan Jin for revenge.

I am a huge proponent of "to forgive and forget". But did Tan Chuan Jin or SNOC committee shown the same grace or forgiveness when Soh Rui Yong apologised publicly multiple times?
Let's not forget that same quote in your slide "Soh displayed conduct that falls short of the standards of attitude and behaviour that the SNOC expects of and holds its athletes to".
On hindsight that's grossly hypocritical and also petty of how they handled the mediation with Soh Rui Yong after his public apology. Where are the standards of attitude and behaviour which they held in high regards?
Although Soh Rui Yong might be crude with his remarks, but he pointed out the truth and not many public figures dare speak of. Instead of a public discourse, they tried to use the whip and make him stay in line.

As Speaker of Parliament, TCJ has an "honourable" title. So was the PAP woman MP whom he has an affair with. They have achieved success at that level, yet how much do they truly understood what "honour" is? As a soldier and general, all the more TCJ should have that character of honour carved into his heart. That is what leadership should truly be about. TCJ is no poor victim like many down and out Singaporeans. With the millions he has collected as a high office bearer, TCJ probably need no longer have to work a single day for the rest of his life. If TCJ hopes to earn the respect of Singaporean again, he can start by donating the fees charged for his course to charity.

No doubt his antics were well documented, but the question is what happened after he was punished and publicly apologized? Let's not forget TCJ was given a chance to stop and "rectify" his affair years before it went public. Why did he not do the same for SRY? A great leader lead by example, but did TCJ really?

I know him well and he is a very decent professional med practitioner of very high standing ..! I don't know him personally, but there's feedback that he's quite arrogant.
Also, when he's SNOC, he's vindictive. 格局小!
What he did to SRY when he's sitting up there, he's very petty.

Has the members of govt EVER shown grace and forgiveness to any opposition party members? Every member of the opposition's misteps are exploited, condemned and cruxified to no end. And that is where the ordinary folks learn their behavior from. And that is how unforgiving our society is becoming, releasing the long suppressed hate in us at every chance possible, through the power of anonymity.
