I went for the IR autolance instead. I didn't do the math but I figure the autolance will deal at least as much as the extra shield damage the Gravitons provide.
First thing first, Squalls give a lot pressure on shield and they do hard flux. Thats mean you are able to EMP with your Tachyon lances and hit faster the armor/hull. Tachyon is great but if you need EMP, 1 Ion Beam is enough. HIL is probably more efficient with the ship ability and cheaper on flux. At least 3 Gravitons is needed to get the extra 10% damage on shield. Hope it's helpful
I didn't do the math, but I figure the extra damage from the IR autolance would make up for the extra shield damage the Gravitons provide. I didn't go Squal because I did not want to spend Ordinance points on ECCM or Expanded Missile Racks. I figure the Pilums will do fine spamming missiles as a distraction.
Not having any Gravitons is probably missing a trick, especially since it was struggling to overcome an Onslaught’s shield.
