I have owned My R34 for almost 10 years, The only thing i have replaced in that time because of breakage is a Radiator. Everything else has just been general Maintenance. If you modify them correctly and use Quality parts, they can be very very reliable.

I was fortunate enough to own a GTR for 5 years and I never had a problem with it that wasn't caused by my ignorance. Best car I ever owned. I think ya'll overlook how old these cars are and that they have probably been beat on a lot regardless of the miles. If you plan to import cars in the future it might be a good idea to already have upgrade/replacements for certain parts.
Dude read this long comment this might help you out really.!! Are you running the turbo hoses with solenoids? If so, which one 2, 3 or a 4-port one or bleeder or what? If you have run in both skyllies a 2 port solenoids, maybe change to 3 or maybe 4 port solenoid? Or don't run one at all and just get bigger turbo. But using a solenoids if that the route you want to go check out how all the solenoids work cuz its kinda different, and maybe your wastegates and blow off valves springs must be checked how much psi they standing?
