How on earth am I gonna be able to explain to anybody that a Miley Cyrus / Puddle of Mudd music mashup brings me to the verge of tears every time I listen to it
I dunno. I just found this and I'm still processing what in the hell it even is that I'm feeling right now. Person above me had some solid advice though.
This sounds like an ending to some post-apocalyptic movie, like the main protagonist just barely makes it out alive with his caravan and they populate a city, trying to recreate the stability they had in the past.
This is the perfect juxtaposition of the reality of the USA and the fantasy of the USA. It’s absolutely brilliant and I’m shocked this wasn’t being featured in national media.
It kind of reminds me of BYOB by System of a Down. “Everybody’s going to the party / Have a real good time / Dancin in the desert / Blowin up the sunshine”
Some1 (perhaps also you?) up and commented that on today's upload (Mama I'm Fun Fun Fun) too, and honestly, you should put it up on each and every upload this fantastic wizard makes, no joke.
I didn't watch the video I just listened to the song so I was like why the hell would you cry it is just party in the usa with a different backing track lol.
The part that always really gets me is when she says "I put my hands up" then it cuts to the protesters marching (seemingly to the beat of the song) with their hands up. And the part with the national anthem in a minor key brought a tear to my eye.
You've outdone yourself my friend. Your mashups are usually fun and irreverent. You drop this emotional, high water mark mashup while maintaining your brand image. Well Done! You deserve another Webby award for this masterpiece. I hope this one blows up and shows what a force you really are.
I have followed you for years, and have never ceased to be impressed by what you do. You are one of 3 creators on TH-cam I watch every single video released. That said, this is far and away the best thing you have ever done. My jaw is on the floor. You fucking killed it, dude.
This video is just a perfect encapsulation of a generation. It shows the political tension and upheaval of our time, while at the same time working in the dark humor characteristic of the era. The dark tone and minor key convey the doom and gloom of our outlook. The song and drop selections show the memetic nature of modern communication, remix culture, and a flight to nostalgia. And on top of all that, it's a really wonderful piece of audio. This is truly art.

Your true Mastery is to make such a complex work lookand sound so elegantly easy as if the pieces of this song (and video) had always meant to be held together in this way. I just discovered you and your amazing videos tonight. I'm all hopped up on chemo and steroids from my weekly Johns Hopkins hospital visit to treat an incurable cancer. I know the 'roids will keep me up all night. My wife is in Russia visiting her kids/grandkids so I decided to maybe mix a cocktail or two and turn on the big guitar amps and play instead of watching TV. It's something I did regularly before I got married and cancer changed things, etc. When I have the house to myself music comes before TV. I rabbit hole videos on TH-cam when a song I don't have at home pops into my head. I'm in my 60s. No iPod, spotify or anything like that. I've got vinyl, reel to reel, cassettes, and CDs going back to my childhood though. Tonight I came across "Play That Funky Music Rammstein". That was about four hours ago. I'm absolutely floored by the quality of your mixes. The video quality is honestly some of the best i have ever seen. You amaze me! I've teared up, laughed out loud and sent links to fellow musicians who cover songs you've bettered. In twenty years I've only written to one other poster on here. She's a guitarist in Australia and we've become friends. Just now thought to follow you on the brain killer that is FB. Done. Your editing is un-fucking-godly! One second or less video snippets thrown in like a cymbal crash in a great song that hit your ears and are stored in the recesses of your mind forever.
