You should check out her NPR Tiny Deck Concert. She talks a little, plays 4 songs that sound awesome. Side note she is the first independent artist to receive 7 nominations and won 6 of the awards. Both were firsts for an independent artist at the Brit Awards.
Isn't she just phenomenal, especially live? The Brit Awards show was before the official release of Genesis, even the title was unknown at that time (fans referred to the few snippets that had became known so far as "Let There Be Light"...), that's why it's not in the title, it was more a teaser for her fans she sneaked in the Awards Show... - Yes, the Brit Awards are an equivalent to your GRAMMYs, but not of that global impact, awards given by an academy in different categories. RAYE got nominated for seven awards, a new record in the history of the Brits, and she won six of them, more than anyone before in one year (Adele and a few others won four in their best season). The categories she won were: Artist Of The Year, Best New Artist, Album Of The Year (My 21st Century Blues), Best R&B Act, Song Of The Year (Escapism), and Songwriter Of The Year (first woman ever to win that category at the Brits...). Have you heard she's nominated for three GRAMMY's in 2025? But the competition is tough... She might win "Songwriter", in "Best New Artist" she has to compete with, among others, Taylor Swift and Chapel Roan... we'll see, I think she'll have better chances for a GRAMMY in 2026 when she'll hopefully be able to compete with a new album... Anyway I don't need any industry academy to tell me she's great, I can see and hear and feel that by myself, and obviously you got the same notion... For another reaction: You can either go with any of the most requested songs, they are all great - or you can follow the invitation of a hardcore fan to discover a side of RAYE you might not have expected and watch the following video, it's seven years old already, she was 20 back then, and she blew me away when I discovered it, even though I had been following her closely for several months... If you're curios for the unexpected, this is your way... Good to see you back. I love Ren’s music so much, but I’m also so grateful to him for introducing me to Raye and Chinchilla. There are a couple of others too but these two ladies just blow my little mind
Genesis was a kinda medley as well. Only the last section, the live part at railway, schools and care homes was original to Genesis. Some Aurora please?
I’d be keen for livestreams! Depending on the time, since I’m in Australia. ❤
