    Helicopter was something with a “closed tail rotor” meaning the tail rotor is encased in a shell to reduce wind turbulence and make the airframe more aerodynamic. Likely a Eurocopter (now “Airbus”) EC135, EC145, EC155, AS365, etc etc, or a coast guard HH-65. That’s the best i got after hearing that distinct high pitch sound.

    Gungans are incredible mistreated in the fandom, they are Heroes who fought a suicide battle on a unfavorable terrain in order to save the starving human population, even if they could have faced the droids in the swamps for months or years with ease, and later in the Clone Wars they help the Mon Cala in the civil war.
    Even Jar Jar was an hero, people blame him because he basically give special powers to Palpatine, they forget he did it because it was the only way to save his friends from certain death.

    It was stated in TPM that the Trade Federation did send forces to the Gungan cities. They clearly knew about them and intended to wipe them out too. That said, a scarier thing is that supposedly the Naboo believed that the souls of their ancestors resided in the core of their world. You know, where the plasma they were *selling* came from? Were they selling the *souls* of their ancestors as an energy source?!?
    Palpatine turning out the way he did kinda makes more sense when you consider that.

    The naboo N1 fighter makes perfect economic sense for Naboo.
    They were anticipating a very expensive product they needed to protect, not a lot of trained fighter pilots, and an extreme preference for low casualties.
    At the plasma extraction succeeded, the N1 could have gone into production.
    They were also intended to be flying advertisements.
    By having the best fighters possible, they could have the smallest space force possible.

    The N1 star fighters are simply renowned ships because they are for the royal Naboo armada. This has caused the design and construction of these ships to have immense wealth backing them, allowing state of the art technology and designs to all fit within an ergonomic and sleek shell fit for a royal escort. And they were built to end fights quickly to minimize risk to the royalty and nobility, with immense firepower and the ability to hold their own for extended periods of time if necessary.
    Whenever someone gets their hands on one outside of Naboo, it is treated like it is a Lamborghini. Mercs loved them because they were fast and powerful, and that more than made up for the extremely costly parts for repair. Even decades later, after the Empire rose and fell, Naboo starfighters were highly sought after. And they only got more rare and exclusive with said passing time. And we see have seen what one decent mechanic and a good pilot can do with one of these babies in Mandalorian.

    You have to remember that on Naboo, the role of monarch is just a more ceremonial president. Its only a monarchy in name, not in practice. Naboo was a planet that valued democracy and the monarch was elected every 2 years and could only be relected once. Sure, it had issues with corruption, but its a stretch to compare it to something like Saudi Arabia. I think Naboo's situation is more similar to a country like Norway, but idk. Maybe the corruption on Naboo is so bad to the point were the elected monarch holds no power and that is what they are trying to hide behind the extravagance of the "monarchy".

    • @thorpeaaron1110

    • @IrishEyes1994
      @IrishEyes1994 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Mostly true, but the candidates can only come from a small group of families. There is a specific group of princely houses and they all have to come from there. In addition, it really depended on the monarch, some were awful, like both of the kings in the Plagueis novel, with others being incompetent like Amidala. Yes, I know she's popular, but she was a 14 year old in charge of a planet, her talent was being noncorrupt and giving good speeches, there's more to being a leader, she was inexperienced, naive, and easy to manipulate, that's why Palpatine made sure she was on the throne, and frankly she largely operated according to what he required. Plus monarchs did appear to hold quite a bit of power, though not a lot of details were ever given.

    • @jorenvanderark3567
      @jorenvanderark3567 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Did the lore change? Because I read that if the monarch is more like an elected president the princes are the Governors, governing smaller areas on the planet..
      It's still a democracy but it requires climbing the ranks so to speak.

    I've been saying the Naboo are sketchy for years. The N-1 has 10 proton torpedoes. There are bombers in Star Wars that don't carry that many warheads. While there is something to be said for quality vs. quantity for fighters that seems like a lot of firepower for pacifists. And compare them to the fighters of the Clone Wars. They're on-par in capability with even the late-war fighters 10 years before it even started. Something odd had to be going on in the background.

    Back in the day, nearly everything about a Rolls-Royce was hand made and hand finished. Not just the body and interior, which were the product of outside companies. It was a result of Henry Royce's eccentric approach to engineering, so that chassis were not welded, but "stitched" together with hand-finished bolts with tapered shanks. Electro-plating was shunned in favour of wrapping thin sheets of nickel around whatever metal needed a protective coating. Innovation was shunned, but every part was painstakingly refined and developed. In the pre-1920 era, the true value of a Rolls-Royce was not in the finish, so much as in the reliability, ease of driving and relative economy of ownership.

    Wow, things one didn't think about with the Naboo. That really was a sleazy move. I don't think Padme meant anything really about it. The humans also were making a major move that would likely end in death with their pilots and security forces. Right or wrong the Gungans did the battle in the open because they needed to entice the enemy to bring as much out as they could, and like I said the humans flying Starfighters were in a different terrible position. But those humans are part of why the whole thing was bad to begin with and basically caused their own problems. For Palpatine, it was on purpose for a greater plan, Padme was just following what was before and doing it for the "right reason" building up her civilization essentially. Still, shot themselves in the foot with it.

    Heh, I don't really think the ships themselves represent anything so sinister: they didn't have a very large standing army or defense force, so they may as well go for quality over quantity, and being a place with a big arts and craftsmanship thing going on it seems really in-character regardless. Also I dunno, maybe that plasma ball thing represents something more, like Gungans getting their fair share, we kind of next see them actually being part of the Senate delegation, anyway.

    The TEPC N1 Starfighter would have been ideal for Jedi Knights on missions, but that _even the Jedi Council_ thought that the company was sketchy tells you something.
    This was the same Jedi Council that was willing to overlook corruption in the Senate.
    They thought that Kuat systems engineering were a more ethical company.... Kuat.

    Huh. He's right. I just realized that now. In Star Wars, Naboo is the equivalent of an Arabian Petrol State. It's main export is plasma which is used as a weapon and energy source by most of the galaxy, but they're not that big of an economy or military without it. That means the Trade Federation is the US horning in on the local politics to get access to the valuable resources, and the Republic is the UN!

    Helicopter sounded like a business class type.
    High rotor speed to keep the chop chop chop sound of the blades quieter and the sound of the turbine is reduced because they land in dense cities and close buildings.
    Kind of like the one in the beginning of Jurassic Park that Hammond took to the island.

    I think you’re looking at TPEC wrong by treating them as a normal company. It’s purpose is more akin to the Springfield and Rock Island Armories or Mare Island Shipyard. They were created by the US government to produce weapons just for them, so they’d have manufacturing capability and expertise when not engaged in wars, when production would have to be outsourced to civilian manufacturers.
