    Great idea for dried palm leaves. The tear drop and point edge leaves look fabulous. 😀

    I like the tear drop one the best. I live in Las Vegas and we have a lot of palm trees in our yard so I'm going to try this! Thanks!

      Yay! So many palms that would be perfect for this project around Las Vegas.

      oh yay!! Glad I could help. haha yeah that can be a bit of a deal breaker sometimes. I'm fortunate some relatives have one on their property so I use them as my main source. But I've also got a few palms I know around town and just keep an eye out to grab one once they fall off.

      Please be mindful of the many animals that live in the palms. In the U.S. there are bats that roosts in the dry fronds on the trees.

    I've been trying to find some around where I live. There is one next to my house but whenever I look there is always so many spider webs and dirt on them. How did you get your so clean?

    • @SloantheBeast
      @SloantheBeast 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      1- I left mines in the sun for a few days
      2- I used dawn soap, water hose and a cleaning brush and gently scrubbed until clean.
      3- leave out to dry or I blow dried mines since I was impatient (lol)
      I have the full tutorial on my channel if you're interested.

      @@SloantheBeast do you clean it first before leaving it in the sun to dry or you dry it first then clean it after?

    • @SloantheBeast
      @SloantheBeast 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@xxcuppiecake The ones I had gotten were already dry. There was 1 that I left in our garage for a few weeks to dry and then cleaned it

    What type of palm branch do you use? How do you dry them?

  • @asheekanhye5365
    @asheekanhye5365 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hi, how did you dry them please ? Is it in full sunlight and on a cloth ?

    • @TheEssentialsClub
      @TheEssentialsClub  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I grabbed the already dry ones from the tree or that had fallen off. They were in direct sunlight. Hope that helps :)

    • @SloantheBeast
      @SloantheBeast 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can leave them in full sunlight or I just dry cleaned them since I had family coming over and didn't want to wait!

    Omg please tell me where you got that cane mirror!

    • @TheEssentialsClub
      @TheEssentialsClub  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The one with the rattan/cane is second hand from En Gold engold.com.au/ but she doesn't really do much cane stuff anymore sadly. I find FB marketplace great for preloved homewares as well :)

    How do you preserved them even longer?

    • @SloantheBeast
      @SloantheBeast 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      They've held up for about a year pretty well (and I have dogs + kids!)

  • @ashtonhose8235
    @ashtonhose8235 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do you do anything special to preserve them?

    • @TheEssentialsClub
      @TheEssentialsClub  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I just make sure to wash and dry them to get any dirt etc off before this process. But nothing afterwards and they've all survived perfectly so far (it's been couple of years for some). But of course it depends on the climate you're in. So if you're worried, maybe a protective spray of some sort could help with this. I've even seen some people spray paint them gold.

    • @SloantheBeast
      @SloantheBeast 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you're worried about preservation you can always hair spray them but as they said they hold up pretty well on their own.
