I head north to meet a new friend , explore his family's land and unearth some exciting treasures Original music by Brad Martin Tshirts, stickers & more: www.GMMD.us
Brad. Great job once again ! Thank you also Joel for allowing brad to detect on you and your families property. and then share it’s beauty and historical information. Much appreciated. Til next Friday 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Brad, Everyone talks about the finds, yes their great. I want to talk about your cinematography skills! You shoot the most awesome videos I have ever seen. You show the crazy, the odd and the beauty of the woods! I have no clue if you are trained in this area or you just have the knack of seeing the beauty there! Great job!
Hey this is great, not only the detecting but the Quarry and the sap lines and the info about the maple tree bugs. Never occurred to me that a quarry could be anything other than a deep hole with stone walls and a swimming hole at the bottom. Hopefully you and Joel can get out again and maybe show us those cemeteries.
What a great video Brad. I wanted to congrats Joel on his FIRST hunt and finding two amazing coins & relics. Love the carvings on the cliff walls Joel. Great hunt and TY again for bringing us along. ATB&HH. Paul.
The filming and the editing is very good and I really enjoy metal detecting with you. I enjoy the longer videos as well. I think it must be somewhat rare to have so many sites that haven't been developed and built over. Thoroughly enjoyable. Thank you for sharing your passion and hobby with us.
And there goes another AT Pro off the shelf. Just knowing he could find even more history directly related to his family has to be quite an incentive. He was making it look easy though...lol.
Once again, excellent video. Love the beauty. Don't get to go out digging this weekend, so this is my fix, so thank you for taking us along and sharing.
Awesome video!! Very neat to have a family member from the ownership family with you!! Being that I'm a born and raised Okie, I had never been East of the big river into Yankie land. My Sister-in-law moved to the Upper peninsula of Michigan and has been there so long she is now a "Yupper" anyway, She sent back a bottle of real Maple syrup. Oh my goodness!!! I guess I have to admit good things do come from East of the Mississippi! Lol!! Vermont is on my bucket list!! I'll get up there one day!!! Thanks for taking us with you!!
thanks for sharing another Vermont adventure nice when landowners discover the excitement of discoveries of possible ancestors and trust you enough to invite you great ambassador Brad for you show your eye and love of nature into each video and respect for nature
It's Friday again! A nice stroll through the woods, enjoying nature, and finding treasure. Plus very interesting to see sap lines. Makes me want Vermont maple syrup with some pancakes.
Very nice discoveries. Excellent permission and cool to see the land owner to hunt with you. Enjoyed the video, excellent commentary and scenery. See you on the next treasure hunt.
Always great to see a landowner interested enough to go dig his own property and see some of it's true history! Nice assortment of relics, including toe taps, coins, buttons, lead etc. Interesting to see the syrup lines running thru the woods and the name etching in the quarry! Thanks for sharing as always and HH
Brad, what an awesome hunt through the gorgeous Maples and quarry. Some truly amazing colonial finds! Am sure your friend will be looking for a metal detector soon!! Have a great weekend my friend! Cheers till the next! Ken
You guys are not alone!! I grew up being told by my grandfather that bears hoot too. I still think that they hoot. They hoot only when they are talking to Sasquatch;-)
Never disappointed and always anticipating more of what I call “Brads World”!! Fantastic job as usual! Now we have to wait until next week . Thanks Brad
Another awesome video with great photography, cinematography, music and finds. How awesome for the land owner to find artifacts that his ancestors actually touched and wore. I do genealogy & research at a local archives and find those finds so exciting.I'm in Ontario, Canada and we as kids collected sap from our Maple Trees and made our own Maple Syrup. Thanks again for sharing your finds, skills and knowledge with us.
Along with enjoying the thrill of the hunt in your metal detecting videos, I also enjoy your affable personality and appreciation of even the modest of finds. A true joy to watch! I wish I could afford to metal detect as well, but must remain satisfied living vicariously through your videos.
You can rub the sap from american pokeweed on your skin to relieve the sting from the stinging nettle. It will go away almost instantly. Fun video and a well done production. Thanks for sharing.
Fantastic! Good to see an owner and to think he's connected to those finds... And the maple syrup lines - that's a LOT of WORK, I should think - he might like to do a little vid of how it all works and what those beastly maple grubs look like & what can be done to thwart them!!!! Very enjoyable 👍
Awesome video thanks for sharing it.... I always found it more fun when you have someone all with you. Not only do they find things you may not of and you get to share in the joy of them finding things, but they get to enjoy seeing the things you find. It always great to share those moments in time with some else right there with you... I at this time in life can no longer get down on the ground or dig a hole. But I can swing my detector and walk with my cane or walker. So I asked my wife to just go out with me to dig up the treasures I find. She said maybe, well that was last spring. I asked her one nice day if we could just go out in our side field to see what we could find. She said maybe... I never asked again because I know the answer she told me twice already and I know after 40 years of marriage never make her tell me three times no way no how all hell breaks loose if she has to tell me something three times... Well so it's still maybe for now maybe = NO or not now... LOL... My day is coming when I'll be physically able to do these type of things me self again.... Be blessed my friend... BBE..
Nice finds. Yes the land owner made it look easy. I took my new Garret out to one of my old homestead sites. Still learning but I did find a half of a OX shoe and I was excited. The tree roots don’t make it easy. But love my new hobby.
Just to bring up a point, my grandfather told me that his father would take worn large cents and hammer them into toe taps because it was cheaper then buying them. I've even found them with full patent dates stamped in them. Always an interesting find. Great video again.
Hi, he has some gorgeous land there, I am very intrigued as to what sap lines are used for as I have never heard of them before today. Brilliant video as always with some really cool finds, especially considering you pretty much know the provenance of them. Thank you. x
Thanks Sue! The Sap lines are inserted in maple trees and all terminate at the bottom of the mountain in large tanks. The sap is then boiled to create maple syrup, a sugary condiment typically eaten on pancakes!
So cool that the history you found is directly related to his ancestry..That's so rewarding. Enjoyed the video and everything you put into making it! HH
Brad, this was an awesome adventure! I'd bet he does get a detector! :-) I always enjoy your videos, as much for the beautiful scenery as the finds. You guys got some great ones! Thanks for sharing with us!
Wow, first time out and he finds an Indian and large cent. Congrats that's amazing. Location Location Location! Great video and awesome relics. Thanks for sharing. Take care.
nice hunt. back this spring you got me hooked. Indian heads is the oldest coins I've found. have never found a button. bunch of horse and mule shoes horse hardware buckles . I'd say you hooked him to.god bless
Very awesome video. Nice of him to invite you out to his property. At first when i started watching i thought it was Eddie with you, but alas it was some other dude, but he was cool too.
EARTH ANGEL😇 THIS was such a nice hunt! FIRST time for him? Great finds! I really like the iron ring that is part of the horse hitching post! OF course that drape bust large copper cent is much sweeter!!! ( to most) NICE large button.... and pretty floral one too.🌺 HOW interesting is that old quarry!!!? I can imagine other drawings & written messages! 🖐🏿✍🏼🐑 Those people of ancient times were quite smart!! 👍🧛♀️🧟♀️🎃👍
What a great day you guys had! Why not keep the leather from the toetaps? Its amazing when you find a button with the thread still attached.. anyway, nice views of the woods and the walls. Ty and HH!
Sapline is a new one to me. Was sitting here watching and wondering about them. As soon as you said "maple", the penny dropped!... I'm just a simple Kiwi boy from downunder.... no saplines down here! Cool to see them and get an understanding..... Oh, and some awesome finds by the way too.
Thank you Brad for sharing your beautiful state with all of us. And the finds - wow. I was also amazed with the syrup lines - Sap gathering sure has changed over the years! Your draped bust 1807 - any more info on that coin? 7 over 6, small or large fraction, comet maybe? The last year for the draped bust and lots of special coins that year. Great channel Brad, keep up the great Autumn work. Chuck in NE Kansas
Green Mountain Metal Detecting, glad to help. If you look up “Owens-Illinois Glass Company dating” and go down three links you’ll find a blog post that details all of the different date codes and symbols they used. It seems that a large amount of the bottles made between 1930 and 1970 have their mark on them.
Wow Brad !, This was another amazing video ! I have come to the conclusion that I love your videos the most. They make me feel relaxed/chilled. It was great that your new friend found some relics. Maybe he will get hooked and invite you back ! I noticed that your coil wire came out wrapping under. Somewhere I read/saw that it is suppose to wrap over? Maybe this is the same as a bear that "hoots" ??
Another great video. When yall where at that wall and you where talking about the W and the symbol right beside. I said that looks like an anchor and I'll be darn if you didnt find an anchor button lol awesome video. I bet that guy will buy a metal detector now

James Massey & thank you sir.
Joel, do the sap lines stay out year round, or do they come in to be cleaned for the new season?
Brad,
Everyone talks about the finds, yes their great. I want to talk about your cinematography skills! You shoot the most awesome videos I have ever seen. Nice finds! That bottle is from 1958. You can tell because the date is to the right of the O-I mark.
Great, thanks for the tip!!
