Recurve and compound archers shoot at a target 18 metres away. The 10-ring is 4cm in diameter for recurve archers and 2cm in diameter for compound archers.

Once upon a time, the reward ceremony was worth adding to you tube for the World Archery organization. It is gone from outdoor world cups, and in indoor. Think about that. I miss them.
How come they are shooting carbon-fiber arrows and not the fat aluminium ones?
fat ones require changes to the bow or a different bow. If they are working towards outdoor season they usually prefer to keep everything the same so they shoot their normal outdoor setup including carbon arrows
also there's different regulations such as arrow diameters, since the NFAA (the organization that runs the Vegas shoot) and World Archery (the world cup stuff) are both at this shoot, different rules apply.
In NFAA, you can use larger arrows than what would be considered illegal in World archery competitions.
So, because of this, Brady set up one bow to be for the world archery stuff (the bow we see here with the X10s) and another for the Vegas shoot competition (the bow with the fat aluminums).
Ellison was having his arrows affected by an air vent, which is why he kept looking up. He was shooting outdoors, Florian was shooting indoors. The commentators didn't notice, of course.
The reason why he is keep looking up because he is looking for he's arrow, there is an screen up there
When someone is used to shoot outdoors, it becomes a difficult to shoot indoors. At indoor, close distance like 18 meters, archers have to aim more actively. They really need to put the sight pin in the middle. In outdoors, aim is more passive and more dependent on subconscious.

@@thomasnisser843 Don't worry. For most people, knowing what you're talking about isn't exactly a prerequisite.
Also, it wasn't an air vent. He had a second coach who was moonlighting in the rafters for a better view. When Brady looked up, he would give him hand signals to tell him what to do next. Most of which consisted of "Got it, Brady- shoot a ten. did you try shooting a ten? because maybe that try that."
