The guy David meets in this episode thinks he's Ernest Hemingway. To this day, whenever I read anything from Hemingway, it's this actor's voice I hear in my head doing the narration.
Always one of my most favorite transformations. Even after beating him up, David Transformed, and the Hulk kept David’s mindset sorta, and didn’t hurt the fella back. Good story line.

He was sick/ mentally ill and the Hulk sensed that and didn’t hurt him. This showed the Hulk’s human side, which David mentioned to that reporter in the episode “ interview with the Hulk”.
when david turned into the hulk the look on ole boys face was priceless. the look on his face when hulk was about to reach out and touch someone was even more priceless . 4:47 love the look hulk has when he turns around at 4:48 and all you see are his white eyes, then he turns back to the man as if to say i'll see you later. the way hulk flexed at the door entrance after he tore them off was gotdamn epic

I do agree that obviously being a TV show from the 70s there were budget and technological limitations to the hulk being able to throw tanks or level cities like say in ang Lee's film. Perhaps if they tried making a cinematic adaptation with bixby and ferrigno back then they might have been able to go that extra mile

Fun fact. Bixby didn't want to play the part of banner at the beginning stages of the series. The reason is because the character would get beat up all the time and Bixby served in the Marines and said it's just not right or something along those lines.
Incorrect. According to Kenneth Johnson, Bixby was sold immediately after he read the pilot script. He didn't want to star in something as silly as "The Incredible Hulk" until he read what was actually in it.

How can you criticize CGI when it didn’t even exist at the time that this show was made? This was meant to be an adult psychological drama set in the real world. Not a comic book show. The MCU movies are meant to be the comics brought to life on screen, so of course the Hulk is going to be CGI/ motion capture there. No human actor could physically portray the comics version of the Hulk accurately.

I believe this is the last of the great Hulk growls. Ted Cassidy who did the voice/growl of the hulk passed away not long after this episode. Hulk never seemed as mean after that voice disappeared.

It appealed to both adults who enjoyed the human interest stories and kids who tuned in to see David perform superhuman feats of strength when he was angry. Kenneth Johnson maintained a great balance. The Hulk here was CREDIBLE enough to be relatable but INCREDIBLE enough to be awesome.
Those 2 policemen were lucky that they didn't get fired after David & that man inside the police van escaped thanks to David turning into the Hulk while he was being attacked by that man in the van with him because he wasn't feeling well.
Just goes to show that when you're locked up with a mental midget, the officers are never there to help as your getting beat up forcing you to Hulk out
It's too bad that they didn't run a make on David. They would've found out that he was supposed to be dead, ask him a lot of questions, and that would have painted him in a corner.

Yes the high pitched portion of the Hulk transformation sound is played everytime Tom "Ernest Hemingway" Wallace has his hallucinations. You can also hear that high-pitched sound in the beginning and end part of Gary Wright's song "Dreamweaver".
