Of all THE9 members, she is the only one who has her first evaluation stage cut from the regular version. So if this stage was shown on the regular run, she could've attracted more recognitions/votes from non-fans.

Dude I didn’t even know Yan Yu existed...why wasn’t her audition in the show? She’s so pretty, fierce and has such a nice voice.

YuYan didnt get enough screentime in the first half of the show, admit it you just know her existence in the position evaluation or selection for the center. IQIYI not giving her enough screentime yet got 3rd place. I'm so proud of her. Thank you for those who acknowledged her talent. This girl need to debut at all cost she is a all rouder that a girl group need. Guys vote for her as your one pick, her position is not stable enough she might go down but I do believe we can do it. We can debut this talented girl, JIAYO!

Hahaa so true! I didn't recognize her in first 8 episodes. I was supporting only An Qi at the 3rd class evaluation where An Qi and Yan Yu were the only two persons to get straight As. I actually fell for her after Ambush performance and thought she was in dance line because I had skipped all vocal performances of the first show lol Jesus she dances so good, not to mention her beautiful vocal too. I finished watching this program today, and i just rewatched some parts of the auditions, and seriously Yuyan got 0,0001 screen time and i need to agree since i think the mayority of us know her when she sang that song being center. Like, at the very beginning of that song, i was attracted by her and i couldn’t watch any other girl in that stage but her: stage presence, visual 100%, singing 100%, dude she is amazing. It is so good that even having 0 screentime at first, afterwards she end up top 5 and above!!

She has best voice among trianees.She is one of kind and strong personallity girls but she is not people who always hold themself right.Why she can't be succesful if she debute cause she is beautiful ,pretty ,body gold,face perfect for girl groups

I mean, Chinese audience of ywy knew that she plagerized someone else's song and there's proof and all that so there was no way she could debut cuz of plagerism. No one's talking about HAMYHe her rap was so good and satisfying for some reason. And her vocals are so good too during the chorus. It's just sad to see how in most comments people are only saying "she/her" and referring to Yu Yan like there is only one person here instead of saying "they".
tbh I kinda like her too. But the thing is before youth with you, she was accused of copying Justin from NinePercent song. So all of Justin’s fans are really mad at her and the other people who didn’t know about her before found out about how she copied someone else’s song and she is just eliminated in the first round. She kinda just ruined her future by coping someone else’s song, I really liked her rap too.

千旋 She is actually a skilled rapper, and was in Super Girl and Rap of China. However, she was accused of plagiarizing BTS, and her company apologized for it but she refused to. Right before the show, she was accused of plagiarizing Justin from NinePercent, and she apologized after elimination, but also threw her collab partner under the bus. Maybe that’s why the show didn’t want to give her any spotlight. She pissed off the very same crowd that watch YWY.
