Yo ur watching these the wrong way ur watching the chlppy version of the animations if you want full peak, put the video to 2x speed, and the animations get a lot more smooth
Game really doesn't have a huge demand for your time unless you're brand new and needing to grind all the events since you get a stone (summon currency) for completing a stage (which there are hundreds of). As far as new content goes a lot of it can be auto-farmed to complete missions. Harder content is also pretty fun and challenging. Would not be a bad game to get into, especially if you like Dragon Ball.
The game literally plays itself, as a massive DB fan it's casual enough for me to be able to not invest that much time in it and it's worth it to see all these scenes remade in HD plus the ost is fucking nuts whoever their guitarist is
Right now we are just after a big celebration so this is a big cooldown period with less to do. If you want to try dokkan out you might want to wait for either the thank you celebration in december, new year or anniversary (in february if they catch up the global version with the japanese one, otherwise it'll be in july next year). Animations in 2023 have been a bit more hit or miss, we've had a few bad ones (SSJ2 kale for example) and we've had straight masterpieces like SSJ4 Goku or the 23rd world tournament piccolo Jr. and goku
@@zero38xt yeah, like most other gachas the coolest and most well-produced characters tend to be the headliners of major celebration. it's not always the case (the newest Goku & Vegeta fusing into Vegito blue character has subpar animations for the Goku & Vegeta portion of the card) but for the most part it is like that. There's also a ton of rewards on these celebrations that are easy to get for new players wich pretty much garantees that you can get both the headliners unless you have horrendous luck especially since these portals always come with discounts. For this year in particular I hope that the synchronization of the japanese and global version will happen in time for anniversary but i'm not expecting it too much since they have gone radio silent on that topic since the announcement. Also if you try it and feel like the game is not for you, nothing's stopping you from just listening to the OSTs and watching the animations, they've really been hitting it with the music this year despite sometimes lacking a smidge on animation. And yes this is detailed because if i'm gonna take the time to comment, i'm gonna make sure everyone gets what i'm going for

Listen Zero, I will say that Dokkan is not meant for everybody, but you have to understand that this game has completely changed since the 4th Year Anniversary or 5th Year idk. I've been playing this game since it came out in 2015.
TEQ LR GOGETA is my favorite animation, and tbh its okay to get into the game now cause they revamped the beginning for new players to get into so you won't be stuck with wack units

I think its has to he clarified that, in paper yes the gameplay does look very boring, but it actually has a lot of depth than a lot of people might think at first. There is more to the gameplay to understand, and difficult content in this game will really make you think. So in my opinion, dokkan is worth a shot at least, give it a chance. If you do decide to play it, I cant recommend enough how important it is to start at the right time. Anniversary I think is the best time for new players, since they give out the most free stuff during this celebration. Anyways, fun video so far!

Started playing dokkan during wwc (it just ended) and tbh theres so many content in the game,the game will be hard at first,but as you have more LR characters it'll become easier which i think is perfect if your trying to play it casually
hi i'm a dokkan player here, been playin a while Nowadays dokkan isn't really entirely about the bubble popping. It's moreso a strategy game now. Units (aka cards for dokkan) have passives that are longer than like "Ki +2" which you maybe familiar with since you referenced old dokkan animations as you remembered them Basically, the bubble popping is more like an accessory to the strategy instead of being the meat of the game. You know how cards in yugioh utilize the graveyard or the banish zone, or other cards in hand or deck, sometimes even other cards on the field? Dokkan has expanded to be a little more like that There are units who benefit being near other units, or units who benefit from being attacked or dishing out attacks. Some still need bubble popping for extra stats but it's not as cut and dry. Let's give an example: the new LR Goku Black (Super Saiyan Rose) Extreme-Z Awakening which just happened: LR Rose can dish out enormous numbers, his attack can hit up to 22 million (for reference, imagine if a card in yugioh had like 3k-4k attack after a good setup). The issue is, he needs alot of ki--aka bubbles--to do so and a good partner character, like a Zamasu, to give him ki or give him more attack. Alternatively, he only has raw defense, which means he doesn't have defensive tech like guard or evasion, but his def goes high enough to consider use assuming he has high ki. Basically, dokkan is a strategy game now, the difference between it and yugioh is it's far more rng reliant. Characters will have chances to do things, and higher chances than others, but there is no guranteed setup because your starting 3 units in the fight is random, and the field of bubbles is random too. Now there is some rng in yugioh with like first draws and stuff, but generally yugioh is much more consistent with consistent setups, whereas in Dokkan units are good based on how much they can do with moderate rng or as little rng as possible. A very good example is an LR Bulma--yes, dokkan made a card for Bulma. She has guard and she gains damage reduction at the start of each turn. She can change the bubbles to different bubbles and supports allies, giving them stat buffs, with a few ki spheres. She's an ultimate utility unit and basically takes no damage, and she is extremely consistent. Thus, she's like top 3 best characters in the game sorry for the rant, hope this helps pique your interest in dokkan!

It also has a free unit which is fucking super saiyan trunks and z broly based on the quest mode so that's insane I think dokkan is picking up and i think you might enjoy it, if for nothing else than the osts, the bomb ass art or the amazing animations, theres alot to like about dokkan now It's also very beginner friendly bc they release events that give a bunch of stones, but it's also nice to have people tell you when a good time to summon is if you want good units, but ofc you can summon for whatever you want it's always fun seeing attack go brrrr in dokkan bc the numbers are insane and you can gegt huge waves of satisfaction when the rng works

Many have said it before, but try joining during a big celebration. The big ones are: Anniversary (late january on jp) Tanabata (end of june on jp) Worldwide celebration (late august on BOTH versions, yknow, cuz its WORLDWIDE) Smaller celebrations: saiyan day (march 18th both versions) Golden week (april 29th) The animations are usually the best for these celebrations specifically. The game is fun! It may not end up being your type but I recommend it to everyone.
If you want to try the game my advice is to start playing it during the big events (anniversary or worldwide celebration). There are two versions of this game, one is the japanese one which I mostly use because the character releases first on this version and then 6 months later they do on the global version (now they are syncing the two versions). Anniversary is set on two different dates based on the game's version, on the japanese one it goes on February meanwhile on the global one on July. Worldwide celebration just ended for this year (it started this September).
I relate. I was more into Legends than Dokkan, but after Legends got too toxic and meta based, i pretty much quit and moved to Dokkan. Now I have the new LR Future Trunks! Its alright if you dont like Dokkan

I've started playing It like a half and a month ago After dropping It 5 years ago. Absolutely worth It! The game Is pretty simple, you Always have somenthing to farm in an easy and quick way.
I kinda quit legends and picked dokkan back up again and honestly it was the most fun I’ve had as if recently with a mobile game I would say it’s worth starting during a big event some of the comments already listed the events I’m talking about.
So, I saw your newest part in my recommended and came back here to look at the whole series. Obviously, I don't know you or your tastes as I'm not subbed. But I do play Dokkan avidly, played since the early days that you were referring to. I've watched this game grow into what it is. And I can tell you with absolute certainty that Dokkan is worth the effort. Just to give a few points: Dokkan is very friendly with your time. Even as a newer player with lots more to do and catch up on, I've found through friends that have not played as long as me that the game can be very forgiving in this regard. The game does not require active attention. You can very easily multitask this game, playing our a turn can only take a few seconds if you're not in difficult content that requires actual strategy. So you can easily grind while playing something else, watching a show, doing editing, etc. If you manage to become an end game player like me, there is still long-term things to do. Dokkan implemented a power level system, where doing certain things like awakening characters or leveling up links will increase your account power level and allow you to compete with friends. If you budget your Dragon Stones well, you never have to spend a cent. Dokkan Fests are the important targets and those are monthly, but not every dokkan fest is worth your time. Saving for anniversaries, world wide download celebrations, and new years celebrations for example can allow you to get the highest value units in the game with little difficulty. The real gameplay of dokkan isn't really the bubble popping if I'm honest. More of a relic of the older game. Now, it's more about team building and strategy. Characters have unique abilities to take advantage of. And if your team is cohesive enough, the bubbles really are of no consequence. There are some units that care about the orbs, but those are few and far between, and often are very rewarding as a payoff for that. And of course, the game is beautiful, and sounds just as good. Now you won't always be playing with the best looking characters in the game, but that's not a bad thing. Because frequently Dokkan does what's called an Extreme Z Awakening. Making an old unit that's already level 120, buffing them to level 140 and completely redoing their kit. Making them viable again. TEQ Super Saiyan Future Gohan is an amazing example of this just recently.
My man, this game is everything but "candy crush", it's more strategic, full of contents, events, f2p friendly (you don't have to spend real money to get ahead of the meta)
Def worth during events, you'll get hundreds of the in game currency during big events and the summon rates feel higher on new accounts for some reason.
My favorite unit of all in Dokkan is the Teq LR SSJ Gogeta, I love his animations, OST, transformation, and win screen! I just wish he had a better counter, his counter is ass and you can never see it cuz there’s way to many things that need to line up.
if you like more strategic/team building type games then you will probably enjoy dokkan. it is very much so about optimizing your team to take on hard events. i started 6 years ago, but ive gotten some friends into it more recently and they love it. id say its deffinetly worth it for a new player to hop in and even to play for free. its something where you can play everyday without running out of content, or once a week. either way it has something for all types of players
The game is pretty fun after you've been playing for a while. But for a brand new player, starting up a 9-year-old gotcha game from the very beginning it's going to be a bit tough. Mainly because you have to start your collection. It requires a bit of dedication to get into Dokkan. Because for a new player, you'll basically start with nothing, sure you can start summoning right away with foot stones you have, but then you'll find yourself having to awaken that unit, which you might struggle with just awakening as well. Then there's The hidden potential to make that unit better, which also requires skill orbs and whatnot. I can guarantee that it's going to be a slow start. But after a few weeks of playing, maybe lucky summons, and clearing out as many events as you can, you'll get into the flow of it. But that's just my take.

I love dokkan and ima be honest if bubble popping isn't to you're liking that is 70% of the gameplay so I don't recommend downloading it but the game is Truly Amazing
I asked myself if playing dokkan was good because that bubble popping too. But now that I play it like 3 4 hours per day I can say that you always see more animations than bubble popping. Like you get tired of seeing additional super attacks xd
In my honest opinion, the bubble popping aspect of the game is the smallest part of the game. I was like you, huge fan of dragon ball but the previews really didn't excite me at all cause bubble popping looked lame. But here I am, years later, I did quit at some points but I still come back to the game. I believe majority of the gameplay is more around team building and position during the gameplay, along with the collection aspect of course lol. Alot of the game can be automated too. Character shave leader skills and passive skills that you try and build around to create a powerful team to stand up against the harder content. I won't lie, the amount of content can be very overwhelming to new players. Like, there is alot of stuff to do. Its an 8 year old game with no signs of stopping. Majority of the players, if not all of them, enjoy the animations, the music, and the strategy that goes into challenging difficult content. I honestly think you might honestly forget that its a bubble popping game when you tackle alot of the team building and strategizing against challenge events when you do play.
The game is reasonably f2p friendly in all honesty, if you play smart and don't summon on incredibly obvious skippable banners, you should be rewarded and be very succesful I've been playing since last year and haven't spent a penny yet, and have done almost all the f2p content and challenging content. So I think it's a pretty generous game if you play smart. It's a great time killer! Despite what many say, I enjoy the content and especially the animations and music! (BIRD GOKU REVIVAL IS BEST OST)
as a dokkan fan if you're a newbie 9 times out of 10 you get the new units at that time (I speak from experience) and most of the stuff you get nowadays is animated but its your choice.
I used to be a Dokkan hater too I didn’t play it since I was a kid and swore that legends was better but since getting back into it and reaching rank 300 with like all the best units i honestly don’t even play legends anymore and Dokkan is my favorite game now
That ssj4 goku fan made animation are good as a result by a fan but for a good game like dokkan would never work becouse he basically didn't done the animation parts and just did half static shots one after another
Trust bro I have been playing for 5 plus years and all I can say is that every year the animations get better and better and so does the game in general. Think about it like riding a bike might be tuff at first might be hard but once you learn you never forget how to play, it becomes second nature 👍
You can only start your account during WWDC or ANNI. Its common sense. I’ve played this game for 7 years, I play it twice a year often times, have insane luck and play it for a good bit. Take a break, jus log in and accumulate stones

i started a few month from launch and as much as the animations sell you, i don't recommend the game personally. there's been no new modes or variety, all the new content is new units and harder content (which is just stat inflation, its not ACTUALLY new combat), it's been the same game day 1 to day 3000. also don't let the comments fool you, you can't auto 8 years of content because the auto battle feature is only unlocked on SECOND replays of a stage, you need to manually do every stage of every mission individually, across 8 years it's thousands of tedious stages that all mesh together with 0 uniqueness between them. also there's no pity in the game, only a coin shop that requires 2000-2500 stones to get 1 unit, which doesn't let you buy the new units, only when they return after their initial banner, which often means characters will be gone from 6 months minimum, and up to a YEAR at most with no way to obtain them unless you got them originally. it's very dull, very stat-checky where some content is locked behind new units (namek sbr was almost completely impossible unless you had the LR goku and LR frieza at the time, most new content is made to sell new units, go figure)
First, you have to watch the new future gohan animations, prob my favorite in the game rn. Also definitely watch the super Saiyan goku from the cooler movie, he’s sick

@@zero38xtdon’t listen to the 2x speed people. The game is definitely more convenient in 2x for the speed, but 1x looks better (or at least more anime, since anime is usually around 24 fps). The animations look a lot “more animated” in 1x (usually) and the animations have a lot of detail in the strikes and particle effects such as dust. In 2x speed you end up missing most of this detail, and often times you can barely even tell what is happening because it happens so fast. More FPS/Speed does not always equal better animation. I agree with the community in the sense that 1x speed DOES feel a bit too slow, but if you are going to simply evaluate/appreciate the animations, stick to 1x speed. It’s a more captivating experience that way. 2x speed still does look good though. It’s a lot less choppy, if that makes sense. Both have their downsides, just pick one depending on your intended experience of the game, and enjoy! We love Dokkan lol

hi i'm a dokkan player here, been playin a while
Nowadays dokkan isn't really entirely about the bubble popping. It's moreso a strategy game now. Units (aka cards for dokkan) have passives that are longer than like "Ki +2" which you maybe familiar with since you referenced old dokkan animations as you remembered them
Basically, the bubble popping is more like an accessory to the strategy instead of being the meat of the game. You know how cards in yugioh utilize the graveyard or the banish zone, or other cards in hand or deck, sometimes even other cards on the field? Dokkan has expanded to be a little more like that
There are units who benefit being near other units, or units who benefit from being attacked or dishing out attacks. Some still need bubble popping for extra stats but it's not as cut and dry.
Let's give an example: the new LR Goku Black (Super Saiyan Rose) Extreme-Z Awakening which just happened:
LR Rose can dish out enormous numbers, his attack can hit up to 22 million (for reference, imagine if a card in yugioh had like 3k-4k attack after a good setup). The issue is, he needs alot of ki--aka bubbles--to do so and a good partner character, like a Zamasu, to give him ki or give him more attack. Alternatively, he only has raw defense, which means he doesn't have defensive tech like guard or evasion, but his def goes high enough to consider use assuming he has high ki.
Basically, dokkan is a strategy game now, the difference between it and yugioh is it's far more rng reliant. Characters will have chances to do things, and higher chances than others, but there is no guranteed setup because your starting 3 units in the fight is random, and the field of bubbles is random too. Now there is some rng in yugioh with like first draws and stuff, but generally yugioh is much more consistent with consistent setups, whereas in Dokkan units are good based on how much they can do with moderate rng or as little rng as possible.
A very good example is an LR Bulma--yes, dokkan made a card for Bulma. She has guard and she gains damage reduction at the start of each turn. She can change the bubbles to different bubbles and supports allies, giving them stat buffs, with a few ki spheres. She's an ultimate utility unit and basically takes no damage, and she is extremely consistent. Thus, she's like top 3 best characters in the game

I enjoy dokkan because the recent celebration basically did something i've only dreamed of, aka Future Gohan with a good ending.
It also has a free unit which is fucking super saiyan trunks and z broly based on the quest mode so that's insane
I think dokkan is picking up and i think you might enjoy it, if for nothing else than the osts, the bomb ass art or the amazing animations, theres alot to like about dokkan now
It's also very beginner friendly bc they release events that give a bunch of stones, but it's also nice to have people tell you when a good time to summon is if you want good units, but ofc you can summon for whatever you want
it's always fun seeing attack go brrrr in dokkan bc the numbers are insane and you can gegt huge waves of satisfaction when the rng works
Dokkan assets is probably the best guy for animations and you should probably get into the game during a big celebration

Many have said it before, but try joining during a big celebration.
The big ones are:
Anniversary (late january on jp)
Tanabata (end of june on jp)
Worldwide celebration (late august on BOTH versions, yknow, cuz its WORLDWIDE)
Smaller celebrations:
saiyan day (march 18th both versions)
Golden week (april 29th)
The animations are usually the best for these celebrations specifically.
The game is fun! It may not end up being your type but I recommend it to everyone.

If you want to try the game my advice is to start playing it during the big events (anniversary or worldwide celebration). There are two versions of this game, one is the japanese one which I mostly use because the character releases first on this version and then 6 months later they do on the global version (now they are syncing the two versions). Anniversary is set on two different dates based on the game's version, on the japanese one it goes on February meanwhile on the global one on July. Worldwide celebration just ended for this year (it started this September).

I relate. I was more into Legends than Dokkan, but after Legends got too toxic and meta based, i pretty much quit and moved to Dokkan.

I've started playing It like a half and a month ago After dropping It 5 years ago. Absolutely worth It! The game Is pretty simple, you Always have somenthing to farm in an easy and quick way.
I kinda quit legends and picked dokkan back up again and honestly it was the most fun I’ve had as if recently with a mobile game I would say it’s worth starting during a big event some of the comments already listed the events I’m talking about.

So, I saw your newest part in my recommended and came back here to look at the whole series.
Obviously, I don't know you or your tastes as I'm not subbed. But I do play Dokkan avidly, played since the early days that you were referring to. I've watched this game grow into what it is. And I can tell you with absolute certainty that Dokkan is worth the effort.
Just to give a few points:
Dokkan is very friendly with your time. Even as a newer player with lots more to do and catch up on, I've found through friends that have not played as long as me that the game can be very forgiving in this regard.
The game does not require active attention. You can very easily multitask this game, playing our a turn can only take a few seconds if you're not in difficult content that requires actual strategy. So you can easily grind while playing something else, watching a show, doing editing, etc.
If you manage to become an end game player like me, there is still long-term things to do. Dokkan implemented a power level system, where doing certain things like awakening characters or leveling up links will increase your account power level and allow you to compete with friends.
If you budget your Dragon Stones well, you never have to spend a cent. Dokkan Fests are the important targets and those are monthly, but not every dokkan fest is worth your time. Saving for anniversaries, world wide download celebrations, and new years celebrations for example can allow you to get the highest value units in the game with little difficulty.
The real gameplay of dokkan isn't really the bubble popping if I'm honest. More of a relic of the older game. Now, it's more about team building and strategy. Characters have unique abilities to take advantage of. And if your team is cohesive enough, the bubbles really are of no consequence. There are some units that care about the orbs, but those are few and far between, and often are very rewarding as a payoff for that.
And of course, the game is beautiful, and sounds just as good. Now you won't always be playing with the best looking characters in the game, but that's not a bad thing. Because frequently Dokkan does what's called an Extreme Z Awakening. Making an old unit that's already level 120, buffing them to level 140 and completely redoing their kit. Making them viable again. TEQ Super Saiyan Future Gohan is an amazing example of this just recently.

I have only one complaint. Why tf are all the animations at x1 speed. A lot of them work with this but a lot of them don’t.
Def worth during events, you'll get hundreds of the in game currency during big events and the summon rates feel higher on new accounts for some reason.
My favorite unit of all in Dokkan is the Teq LR SSJ Gogeta, I love his animations, OST, transformation, and win screen! I just wish he had a better counter, his counter is ass and you can never see it cuz there’s way to many things that need to line up.
He does look incredible!

if you like more strategic/team building type games then you will probably enjoy dokkan. it is very much so about optimizing your team to take on hard events. i started 6 years ago, but ive gotten some friends into it more recently and they love it. id say its deffinetly worth it for a new player to hop in and even to play for free. its something where you can play everyday without running out of content, or once a week. either way it has something for all types of players

The game is pretty fun after you've been playing for a while. But for a brand new player, starting up a 9-year-old gotcha game from the very beginning it's going to be a bit tough. Mainly because you have to start your collection.
It requires a bit of dedication to get into Dokkan. Because for a new player, you'll basically start with nothing, sure you can start summoning right away with foot stones you have, but then you'll find yourself having to awaken that unit, which you might struggle with just awakening as well.
Then there's The hidden potential to make that unit better, which also requires skill orbs and whatnot.
I can guarantee that it's going to be a slow start. But after a few weeks of playing, maybe lucky summons, and clearing out as many events as you can, you'll get into the flow of it.
But that's just my take.

In my honest opinion, the bubble popping aspect of the game is the smallest part of the game. I was like you, huge fan of dragon ball but the previews really didn't excite me at all cause bubble popping looked lame. But here I am, years later, I did quit at some points but I still come back to the game. I believe majority of the gameplay is more around team building and position during the gameplay, along with the collection aspect of course lol. Alot of the game can be automated too. Character shave leader skills and passive skills that you try and build around to create a powerful team to stand up against the harder content.
I won't lie, the amount of content can be very overwhelming to new players. Like, there is alot of stuff to do. Its an 8 year old game with no signs of stopping. Majority of the players, if not all of them, enjoy the animations, the music, and the strategy that goes into challenging difficult content. I honestly think you might honestly forget that its a bubble popping game when you tackle alot of the team building and strategizing against challenge events when you do play.

I've been playing since last year and haven't spent a penny yet, and have done almost all the f2p content and challenging content. So I think it's a pretty generous game if you play smart. It's a great time killer! Despite what many say, I enjoy the content and especially the animations and music! (BIRD GOKU REVIVAL IS BEST OST)

as a dokkan fan if you're a newbie 9 times out of 10 you get the new units at that time (I speak from experience) and most of the stuff you get nowadays is animated but its your choice.
I used to be a Dokkan hater too I didn’t play it since I was a kid and swore that legends was better but since getting back into it and reaching rank 300 with like all the best units i honestly don’t even play legends anymore and Dokkan is my favorite game now

Trust bro I have been playing for 5 plus years and all I can say is that every year the animations get better and better and so does the game in general. Think about it like riding a bike might be tuff at first might be hard but once you learn you never forget how to play, it becomes second nature 👍

i started a few month from launch and as much as the animations sell you, i don't recommend the game personally. there's been no new modes or variety, all the new content is new units and harder content (which is just stat inflation, its not ACTUALLY new combat), it's been the same game day 1 to day 3000. also don't let the comments fool you, you can't auto 8 years of content because the auto battle feature is only unlocked on SECOND replays of a stage, you need to manually do every stage of every mission individually, across 8 years it's thousands of tedious stages that all mesh together with 0 uniqueness between them.
also there's no pity in the game, only a coin shop that requires 2000-2500 stones to get 1 unit, which doesn't let you buy the new units, only when they return after their initial banner, which often means characters will be gone from 6 months minimum, and up to a YEAR at most with no way to obtain them unless you got them originally.
it's very dull, very stat-checky where some content is locked behind new units (namek sbr was almost completely impossible unless you had the LR goku and LR frieza at the time, most new content is made to sell new units, go figure)
First, you have to watch the new future gohan animations, prob my favorite in the game rn. Also definitely watch the super Saiyan goku from the cooler movie, he’s sick

@@zero38xtdon’t listen to the 2x speed people. The game is definitely more convenient in 2x for the speed, but 1x looks better (or at least more anime, since anime is usually around 24 fps). The animations look a lot “more animated” in 1x (usually) and the animations have a lot of detail in the strikes and particle effects such as dust. In 2x speed you end up missing most of this detail, and often times you can barely even tell what is happening because it happens so fast. More FPS/Speed does not always equal better animation. I agree with the community in the sense that 1x speed DOES feel a bit too slow, but if you are going to simply evaluate/appreciate the animations, stick to 1x speed. It’s a more captivating experience that way. 2x speed still does look good though. It’s a lot less choppy, if that makes sense. Both have their downsides, just pick one depending on your intended experience of the game, and enjoy! We love Dokkan lol
