Literally my mom hope I'll be a teacher but I got a little rebellious and choose to study Communications instead of a teaching degree (I'm in my senior year, prepping my graduation thesis LOL). It's possible. If one went to university right after high school and finished the degree within regular time it should be doable. Even taking our set up in Germany, if one would start studying their teacher degree at 18 it would take them 5 years (regular time + highest school type; primary schools need less years) one would be graduating with 23.
In the US, you need at least bachelor's degree in education and/or your content area, which you can get in your young adult years. It typically takes 4 years, or even 3 if you got college credit in high school or graduated a year early. The youngest you could be 21-22 by that point. You also have to get a teacher certification by taking a state teat I believe. And to be honest, being a young teacher is great! You can relate more with your students than older teachers would and you are more likely to know how to use modern technology in learning as well.
