I'm guessing that there is preference for MM put a match together regardless of the tonnage difference if you go over a certain wait time. PGI can't have us waiting forever to have PUG matches. @@romwyzard8259 Or the algorithm for anything. The seeming randomness of the Skill up/down mechanic is crazy-making. The only obvious thing that matters seems to be damage done, and even then the thresholds for what qualifies as a skill up are completely bonkers.
@@Railstar1976 I couldn't agree more on the skill up/down thresholds. It seems that as long as your team wins your skill goes up, unless you do almost no damage at all. If you team loses, you need to have an incredible match score/damage done for your skill to just equal out and top match damage sometimes won't do it! Absolutely crazy indeed. @Baradul. Nice to see the TBR doing some work. You can spread damage a bit more to the legs by periodically hitting your jump jets in moments when you are moving on an even plane with the enemy. It doesn't poptart, but you def can use those JJs as a damage mitigation tool. When you hit your JJs, the hitboxes on the legs get all weird on a few mechs. Mechs like the assassin, the VGL, the madcat MK2, SMN, TDR, vulcan, SNV, ect, Snv/mki2 especially when they are targeting an arm or something. Pump those jets with passion when taking fire and trying to reposition to a place where you can return fire effectively.
First match was a typical "matchmaker fail" Cyclops, Direwolf, Kingcrab, Awsome -vs- Rifleman, Summoner, Warhammer, Orion IIC ... the other two lances have been lower tonnage too. Hope they fix it one day, but I doubt it. Nice video and gameplay anyway.
Timby these days has bad agility combined with bad hitboxes, a deadly combo. Sort of surprising to look back and remember how strong the mech was at one point.
Timby is still a good mech, but you need to play carfully. Dont ruch before your team, watch for heating, use terrain for your advatage . Be awere of you surronding to make falnking atack or peaking
So.....the same advice for just about every other mech? lol It really does emphasize the point of the game in that regard: You are only as good as your teamwork.

I think that's just for the "at home" audience. Almost all of his callouts seem to include a grid. And keep in mind he plays in Tier 1. In theory, these folks have played enough that if someone says "G4 left side", they will get the hint based on where they are standing. One would hope, anyway.

55 tons isn't deal-breaking in many cases, but 175...ooph. Unless the lower-tonnage team has armor-quirked or meta mechs, that's hard to overcome.

My oldest son was in King Crab in the first match.
I'm tired, but I read the title as Timber Vomit Laser Wolf and I wasn't mad about it.
Fancied trying this build when I first saw this video, and now that the Champion varient is a free mech I'm very excited. :D
I've never clicked on a video so fast. The timber wolf is such a beautiful mech.
It really is. Very iconic too! Only problem is it’s a clan mech ;)
Hell yeah!
irl one shot from the front and the pilot likely dies though, gigantic cockpit in the center of mech after all
I concur.
In the lore it's all but OP, but in MWO it's a meme at best. Mostly garbage since CW/desynch patch 3yes ago.
Wondering how in the world that king crab survived.

Great design and laser-vomit build! Thanks, Bara!
Been playing my Timberwolf lately too! Can't help it's my favorite mech even if it is subpar in the meta with its barnhouse torsos XD
Looks like somebody is gearing up for the new laser patch notes!

Catapult with arms.
Alternatively, Marauder with missile ears.
I love you videos...can you do a SRM Archer Build? I love the Archer and I would like to see a bad to the bone Archer...if that's possible
Try 3 ER PPC Timber on shoulder, extremely high mounts.
Caustic Valley looks so much better than in the beginning.
Freaking GG!
Humans are so impatient.
As someone looking to buy one. Can u get another shoulder mounted laser pod?
Shouldn't you put a lpl in Lt and the other in Rt, Bara?
The right torso has waist mounts they are low. High mounts are usually superior
*heavy breathing*
Timber wolf should be the only mech where not going for the shoulder missile pods should be a bannable offense... It's so wrong.
Don't forget the Bushwacker without it's missile pod spoiler, it just ends up with a "conehead". I can't stare at it for long.
