I can’t imagine where you’re shopping. I’m jealous. At our local thrift stores you’d think you WERE shopping at Anthropology looking at the prices. It’s insane. Great video and so much fun. I love challenges and setting out with an intention and a certain look in mind.
Same here! Even the Goodwill stores near me have higher prices for junk.
@H G All we have in the area is Savers and a Salvation Army store. I have found numerous DT items sold for $2.99 and sometimes more. 🤦♀️

I second Bailey G : WHERE ON EARTH are your thrift stores? The thrift stores around me have NOTHING like this stuff, and their prices are _stupid_ high. Or their stuff is pure JUNK. They've really turned me off on thrifting, which I used to love doing. When I go to my local Salv Army, and they're charging $25-30+ on shoes, it's time to shop elsewhere for NEW items that are even cheaper. So much for non-profits, eh?

My goodness the prices at your thrift stores are amazing!!!! I live in st.louis, MO and pieces that can fit in the palm of your hand are at least $2. I think a piece of gum would be over $2 at the thrift stores around here. You're so lucky and the pieces you find are so good!
I wouldn't say these are DIYs. But I would say you live in a great place for amazing finds. Lucky you. You are talented with staging your finds.
A friend once told me to light new candles just long enough to blacken the wicks. Makes it look more comfy cozy she said. Less like a showroom display. I thought she was nuts, but I tried it, and now I can't stand having my candles look unused. 😂

I have the same magazine holder that you got at the thrift store, it's not vinyl, it's made of genuine leather. It's from the previous season of Studio McGee collection. That's a great find.

❤❤❤❤ Repurposing is the best I swear so much stuff has like been done before it's like when my students got so excited at once on because they saw me wearing a score and I owned that scoreful like years and how they got pregnant new one's doors again but I haven't seen him in the store since I was a little girl and it's just crazy what becomes popular every few years check your addict before you go to the store

Same as Bailey G! So expensive for those same items in New Jersey. But if you don’t go to Goodwill and hit up church thrift stores the prices are better.
I love the idea of a wall sconce turned planter! I’ve done that with a lamp glass shade like when I switched out the builder grade ugly boob lights. Used that shade as a planter and it’s super cute. So love love love the repurposed idea!
I absolutely adore when you die anthro dupes/DIYs. So along those same lines, urban outfitters and west elm and cb2 are some other great stores for thrift store dupes/upcycles.

Great suggestions on thinking outside the box to replicate Anthropologie looks. (And those pink/mauve and green shell lamps were HUGE in the 80's!)

It's absolutely amazing that you are able to find such a close match for anthropology items at the thrift store especially the speckled vase. Are the two stores located within the same vicinity of one another? WOW. If someone gave me a challenge to do this sorry to say I would fail. 😩

The throw blanket was lovely and the pillow, the little blown glass dish, I love the brass candle holder also but I never find them when I am thrifting. They were all great finds. Your thrift stores are incredible! I don't go to our local Good Will store too often because it never has anything. With the recession and prices going up on everything our local store is pretty picked over. I feel guilty when I don't really need anything or I'm looking for something for a DIY. I do enjoy watching you get pretty close to your inspiration pieces, whatever store the inspiration comes from.
I've found that if I go regularly, I have better luck then just sporadic visits.
Agreed. Our thrift is at least next to a Ross and I find it’s better usually to look for home goods at Ross price and selection wise.

Wow my thrift stores has all the old States wall hanging plates and bells that say things like Nebraska, the Cornhusker state! and mini ceramic airbrushed dogs from the elderly that’s recently passed away.

I am pretty sure that shell looking lamp is worth a lot of money... I got a similar vase that was worth $80 on the low end - $500 on the high end so your lamp is probably worth way more!

Most of the time the vintage things are even better and don't look cheap. I can't believe, Anthropology sells this speckled vase for 78 bucks. And people are willing to sell that price? Unfortunately in Germany we don't have those amazing big goodwill stores...but the fleamarket is also an option.
