I own 2 chainsaws so im aware of their existance. When we filmed this video (5 year's ago) we had just got the machine working, just wanted to test it quickly, it was a small pine tree with no real danger so no need to do all the correct cuts.
This might be useful cutting overgrown hedges or thickets where you want to reach in at ground level but shrubbery, thorns or vines don't allow it. In that setting, this device could save a lot of time and aggravation.
I think that back in the past when they invented this machine it was purposed for somekind of bushes Bush fences ..and probably chainsaws weren.t so popular then
They were designed for smaller trees, pulpwood. Many men didnt survive this contraption. The dealer for something similar brought this for my dad to try out. Early 40s.My dad said no way. However the next guy he took it to lost both of his legs when the saw pinched and spun around and got him.

Fell the tree with a chainsaw and then use this contraption to cut the stump at ground level.
youre supposed to cut the wedge out with an axe then use the saw to do the back cut, but itll ruin the whole effect :P

Have heard of a chain-saw? They're really cheap. Some crazy contraption for tree felling you have there; not mention very dangerous.
I don't see how it would be dangerous, just slow because it's 70 years old with a weak engine.
