I'm generally not a fan of any of the Bugattis, but I'll admit that particular car has appeal. Thanks for a look behind the curtain on what a really big deal looks like. I do hope Ed eventually finds a 100,000 mile Veyron that was plucked out of the hands of a Ponzi schemer by his cocaine dealer, and then stashed in a chicken coop for four years because the dealer was on the run from El Chapo's illegitimate daughter. That would be a perfect car for Ed!
i have never understood the desire to own any of them , i honestly think it's just because they are super expensive because in my mind they are ugly as a turd
I work for private car collectors. I never knew that having too many cars would be a real problem, but it’s absolutely true. You almost need a team to take care of them, which is where I come in.
Out of all of the world's fastest cars the Bugatti Veyron super sport & its successor the Chiron super sport are by far the best driving. They are so easy to drive even at stupid speeds. If they weren't worth so much with such ridiculous maintenance costs they would actually make for a great daily driver. I got the chance to drive both of them & I couldn't believe how comfortable & smooth they were to drive even at speed on the autobahn.
Another great car story from the master. My wife actually gasped when she heard the cost of those tires 🙂 For a bunch of reasons I am driving the poor mans Aston Martin ( a 2014 Mustang cabriolet) I still dream about my after lottery winnings garage . Love this channel
Ed, you should reach out to The Stradman about his Bugatti Veyron! His is high mileage, he's been trying to sell it for a while and he's also just finishing up his dream house, shop build, which is like half a million over budget! Lol.

I'm with you Ed, having a Hoovie type fleet seems tiring to me. You stated nothing but the truth when you said "cars don't sit well". I hope you get your Bugatti one of these days.
Love this story Ed, I have been lucky enough to have my 1999 Suzuki Hayabusa for a few years now, there's just something about owing "the fastest" of any genre of factory built vehicle that makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Hope you get your 250+ mph beast one day🤙
No way, I’ve seen this & her driving it a bunch up here in NJ. You are correct sir, sexiest spec with the diamond cut wheels & full orange interior! Glad to hear she’s keeping it!
Dude, for years I worked in downtown Memphis as a professional musician. One night I was at this little Italian place that used to be on S. Main and up pulls a Spyker C8. This HUUUUUUUUGE black guy in a FULL fur coat gets out of it, and of COURSE I have to comment on the car. If you aren't incredibly rich, or a mental car guy, you probably don't even know the car exists, so again, I HAD to let him know how much I appreciated seeing it. He was a nice guy. Something to do with the Memphis Grizzlies NBA team. If memory serves I think he said the car was about $400,000 U.S.D back then. This would have been 2014-ish. Anyways, would love to see a Bugatti in the flesh. Anyways, Cheers from the worst city in America!
it didnt work out because its not an 'ed' veyron. its just a normal, NICE veyron. i dont know if an ed veyron can even exist. as we saw with the flood car, it just wasnt really possible to rebuild the thing, the cost wouldve been more than just buying a nice one. a veyron is one of those cars, as evidence by the maintenance cost, that just CANT depreciate. its either in good shape or its totaled. i mean these things cost more to build than they sold them for. vw LOST money on every veyron (unlike the chiron)
I owned some new corvettes in the 90's. ( around 70 cars total in my 50 something years ) I would be thrilled to have a mid 90's corvette in clean condition, meanwhile you were trying to do a 2 million dollar deal for 1 car. I wasted a few hundred thousand back then buying news cars every 6 months. I miss my corvette but I am glad to not be like that anymore. I am also poor now so I couldn't wheel and deal like I used too, even if I wanted to. My dream car was a Viper, I owned 1, it was a lousy everyday car so I bought a new Vette instead, a month later. I lost $6000 in 30 days on that Viper. Have never regretted it.
Ed keep swinging for the fence brother I believe the one day you will get your car that you're looking for and you will get that car just keep trying and keep working at it the best of luck friend
Personally, Ed, I think you dodged a gold-plated platinum bullet on this one! Absolutely wonderful, awesome car, but those maintenance expenses...✌️❤️🙂🇨🇦
I would absolutely love to have a Super Sport. The problem is, it truly is a rich person's toy. Those tires, oil changes, and maintenance items (do you really want to be doing DIY repairs or trusting non experts to work on that complex of a vehicle?) add up so fast it makes your head spin. The McLaren F1 is in the same boat. Having to send it back to England to have new fuel tanks installed every so many years is absolute wallet rape, lol. I feel like there's really no economical way to own one of these pristine examples. You're probably better off that it fell through, eventually a salvage title one will end up in your garage and then you can truly have fun with it without paying astronomical amounts of money.
50k for a set of tires and a oil change is so goofy crazy I know there specially designed for high speed. But considering my heavy haul tractor plus my 8-axle 32 tire trailer would be under 20k for brand new tires its just mind boggling to me
The maintenance bills are just eye watering. Outstanding a piece of engineering that it is, one oil change, a new set of rubber and you're into an invoice that would cover the purchase cost of a decent car. Its a halo car for sure, but timing is everything and right now, probably not a bad time to hold fire.
268 mph on the ground just sounds crazy. I realize that top fuel funny cars and dragsters do it on a regular basis but they do it very briefly and in a very controlled environment with a ton of safety equipment and safety crews watching every minor detail. Then they completely inspect and overhaul the vehicle between each 1000 feet pass.
Yeah Ed, I think having this deal fall through is actually a blessing. The maintenance on these are quite high. And yes you really really want it but too many dynamic variables. If you’re selling all those vehicles to just buy it, imagine something major happen? Keep building those financial streams of passive income.
I remember the seeing owner of this car bring their f50 in Paramus one day in 2018 where it was raining but they still had the top down, absolutely awesome to see
that invoice is insane the labour cost is less than 1/2 on the tax on the parts, and the main reason I do all the work on my cars is the cost of labour, also heard but don't know how true it is but after you drive these cars at top speeds for a few mins the tyres need to be replaced and the oils changed
I always love Ed stories! He inspired me to start my channel! Man I think you are better off not having a car you have to worry about so much. $48k tires????

Just read someone thought that the chase was the best bit and owning these cars isn't all it's cracked up to be. Not in the same league but I just bagged a 2013 MB CLS Shooting Brake for £8.5K - Easily the cheapest Non-salvage Title car in the UK. 350Cdi BlueEfficiency AMG Line with 265bhp, with 78K miles and all the toys. It was an auction car and came with a couple of faults - I saw it on the website and I always thought they were gorgeous so I went up to "Have a look"! Of course you know what happens next - it starts at a "poor" £8000 - Auctioneers were aghast and tried to big it up, but it petered out very quickly, I stuck my hand up at £8300 and then shook my head when someone bid £8400 - the Auctioneers (whom I know well) said - "come on - it's only £100 (it was actually £200 but we'll let that slide) and the next thing I know, it's hammered down to me at £8500. I had sat in it for all of 45 seconds, I hadn't heard it run, the hand/emergency brake wouldn't work, there were ABS, TCP & ESP lights on the dash , the ECO mode didn't work and the electric mirrors were stuck. A couple of days later, it was delivered to me. A power wash cleaned what was obviously a dirty wheel speed sensor (even I knew what was causing those lights), 5 mins on youtube and 30 seconds in the car fixed the emergency brake, a new battery cured the ECO mode and the mirrors had been suck in the same position since 2016 (when the last owner got it) and just heeded a little "help" for a minute and they're fine. I didn't know at the time I bought it, but the car has an electric towbar (a £900 option) and LED Adaptive headlamps (a £4000 option!) and an almost complete M-B service history. I fixed all the faults, MOT'd it, taxed and insured it, drove it for a week and, now? Well, now I'm bored! I love looking at it, I love the way it looks, I love the engine and the power, I love the electric tailgate but there are some serious downsides - My wife HATES it, people won't let me out at junctions, it's enormous and it's a real brat to park. Worst of all - I'm over it! I now have my eye on a Jaaaaaaaagggg XJ - and doing it all over again. Like I said - not in the same league as ED & Hoovie but once this gets in your veins then you just can't help it. But I know I'll do the same with the next one - My wife & kids will roll their eyes and I'll disappear to the garage (again) and the whole thing will start one more time - I need help!
Why do I feel like the editor sped this up to 1.5x speed? Mr. Ed sounds extremely intellectual but he’s definitely speaking very fast compared to previous episodes.
Reminds me of the torment I had buying a Ford escort RS2000 for £900 back in the 80’s. Yes. I do wish I paid the extra money they demanded after we’d already agreed the sale. Well such is life, someone got it for £1100 or thereabouts and I got my yellow Mk1 Escort Mexico (pretend) that needed rear suspension sorting. (£550). Someone stole that and painted half of it blue. I got it back but sold it straight away. I miss my cars
im 17 and i always thought the Veyron is mid but the Chiron was absolutely the best, but now im looking at more veyrons and idk i like the early 2000s look alot, for some reason the tail lights and many other things just look so clean
I am not in the same ballpark as you but I play the same game... I have owned 4 of my bucket list cars in my life so far. And sold all of them within 3 years. The chase is absolutely the thrilling part. Owning and driving is nice, but as soon as I'm there I feel the itch for the next thing. That diag, I've have yet to get anywhere near my own pinnacle car so maybe as I approach that some day I'll change my tune.

What's that power gauge in the cluster for? I tried googling it but nothing stood out as having my answer.
I'm very sure you will get a Veyron finally. Keep chasing that dream!
who was the woman that owned this and the f50
The right one will come one day Ed and it’ll be worth all the struggle
Don’t worry Ed, you got yourself another great story to tell on the channel.
yes 3 car garage is my cup of tea too, i'm currently 1/3 i have a daily, i want a drift project and possibly a vip build sometime in the future
I loved that story Ed! That was amazing!!
Sell the cars as best you can with no time limits and build a war chest so you’re ready to pounce on the next car.
Ed makes more money telling a car shopping story than my ride is worth... and we love him for it!
"or even let your wife drive or anything like that". Really? WTF dude.
Anyone have any idea who owns that Veyron?
Reminds me of the torment I had buying a Ford escort RS2000 for £900 back in the 80’s.
Yes. I do wish I paid the extra money they demanded after we’d already agreed the sale.
Well such is life, someone got it for £1100 or thereabouts and I got my yellow Mk1 Escort Mexico (pretend) that needed rear suspension sorting. (£550).
Someone stole that and painted half of it blue. I got it back but sold it straight away.
I miss my cars
Saw you at car week concours de lemons in your cannonball run jacket, love these story videos.
Why not buy Stradman's car? He was asking 1.4 for it. I'm sure you can work out a deal 🤷🏻♂
It's probably too nice.
im 17 and i always thought the Veyron is mid but the Chiron was absolutely the best, but now im looking at more veyrons and idk i like the early 2000s look alot, for some reason the tail lights and many other things just look so clean
Dream spec, for sure
I am not in the same ballpark as you but I play the same game... I have owned 4 of my bucket list cars in my life so far. And sold all of them within 3 years. The chase is absolutely the thrilling part. Owning and driving is nice, but as soon as I'm there I feel the itch for the next thing. That diag, I've have yet to get anywhere near my own pinnacle car so maybe as I approach that some day I'll change my tune.
Ed & Tavarish are my Heroes! ii love the concept of buying the worst examples of your favorite cars, Absolutely Genius! One day ii will own a Merci Roadster, or at least a kit-version of one, my dreamcar!
A story of petting the unicorn and then the unicorn quietly trotting away.
I'm not the biggest fan of the Veyron but that one is just gorgeous.
That spec is incredible
Why not strad's bug?
Nice story. Even though the Chiron is better the Veyron Super Sport would still be my pick
Great story Ed, some day… some day
Have you looked into a Ferrari GTC4 Lusso? Super fast and easy to drive as a Camry, just saying
I remember having trouble keeping up with just five cars without having at least two of them sitting for long periods of time.
Tangerine on black always works.
Lol I swear this is the same car I saw in Prestige Imports in north Miami Beach😂 took a few pics of it. So gorgeous. I believe it’s still there
Ed, I hope the car comes back to you in the future when it makes more sense for you. Seems like you really want it. Good luck!
If I win the lotto Ed. I'm buying for you just because of your enthusiasm.
If want make quick money. Get in the foxbody market. The mustang market is crazy
Should just buy Stradman's Veyron
Or Wait until Houston finishes the Flood Bugatti? 🧐
That one is GORGEOUS!!
