We played this song in seventh grade- great song... Flutes are awesome lmao
Wow its like this song was made for 7th grade. Everyone’s saying they played it in 7th. As well as me. I have the solo version. For euphonium.
The clarinets and trumpets I think are what bring this all together.
I play alto sax and if you listen to part 1 we have the main melody for the I would say middle part it’s really fun though
i play trumpet but the flutes make it sound nice
le cat hopefully all my fellow flute players will do good on this piece (we’re playing it for our concert)
i play the clarinet and this is so fun to play especially the fast and high notes:)
Clarinet here too. So sad I never got to play this one. I only got to play the first one.
Played this in middle school, along with part one. These two songs remain my favorite songs of my band experience.
Im in middle school and played both and what u play? Im a trumpet
For someone who plays the trombone and is currently practicing this peirce for a concert, it is a masterpiece
The Trombone/Trumpet part at 61-65 is amazing especially with the drums :D Gives it a grand feel
I'm a flute and I'm playing this for my 6th grade band and we actually sound really good
I still get goosebumps! We played this song for a competition, and as a flute first chair I lead my section with my second chair, who is my best friend. I still listen to this song. BTW trumpets!!! The BWA BWA eighth notes can ALWAYS BE LOUDER! Also for anyone who doesn't know that story behind this song.
Danny is going to war, and his parents write him a letter saying like "Whatever happens we're here for you, we love you, we know you'll do your best and serve Ireland well." Anyways the speedy part if going into war, and the flute section is Danny remembering his parents in family. The lowbrass part with trumpet is the war going into full swing. The BWA BWA eighth notes by trumpet are the enemy team getting the advantage. The very end is Danny lying in the medical tent, seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. This story and song always gives me hope for the future.
I play trombone, this song is amazing!
Rowan Mitchell Gedling Productions Me too! I love our short solo at 53
We played this for honors band- over 100 kids. It was the best band some I have ever heard. The way we crescendoed and our balance made it sound even better then this video recording.
I play the Alto Sax, and this is a really cool song to play, but the trumpets make it sound so awesome.
I agree 100%. I also play alto. love it when the trumpets come in, it makes my body feel as if it is filled with a bursting energy that is unstoppable. I also like it when the altos lead the trumpets.
lol i know right i play 2 but i love this song, especially the trumpet 1 parts
Violet Dot I play trumpet and agree with you but that bass is really cool to
This is a really fun piece to play
I play trumpet and we played this in 6th grade!! Love this song so much!!!
I play Tuba in this song along with Baritones and Baritone Saxophone and the low instruments really make the song full
In seventh. Playing this song. Hyped for the concert.
by far one of my favourite concert band peices!
I’m a trombonist and I’m going to play this at an event called music alive the day after this comment. And it was slower than this. The extremely fast for my band
i play bass clarinet and i get to play this for a consert and i love it
Same! I get to play this song and a couple others for my school and a couple other schools all region band, this song is my favorite out of all of them
I played this in all the way back in year 4 with the first trumpet part and has always been my favourite piece played in band
We’re working on this, I’m in seventh grade, we did Celtic air and dance 1 last year. I’m a percussionist.
I like how there’s just a series on Celtic air dance it’s fun hear then in order!
2:20 my favorite part👍
(I play the trumpet)
Roller coaster 3.333 that part is awesome! I technically play euphonium, but trumpet is my second instrument.
My band and I are playing this song almost every day! I HAVE to convince hime to let us play it during our concert! I also love our clarinet soli in the beginning, it really shows all the other instruments how important we are
perccsion here have not played this year but I can't wait
Trumpet bits in the Fast bit is the best, honestly its even fun playin it.
I played the first one in 6th grade but now I’m in 7th grade and we play this one now and I love it more than the other one
This was my favorite song in my freshman year. Sadly we didn't have a lot of people I mean 11 players aren't a lot not to mention 5 where percussion 2 clarinets including me and 1 trumpet 1 baritone and finally 1 saxophone. But we pulled it off for our contest, festival and concert along with the graduation of 2017. Good job to the guy who wrote this song I love it so much.
Yes I have a soft spot for band and country music. BITE ME!
Bite me was to those that know me at school.
Y'all sleeping on the French horn
The French Horn is actually the instrument that holds the song up gives the music it’s fullness. Without it the band would sound empty.
played this in 7th grade, then didnt hear it again for years. just heard the band warming up to it in the other room, and recognized it when they hit the second part. the nostalgia hit lined up with the climax and it gave me chills.
I'm a clarinet and I get to play this song
yooo baritone gang where r u 😔🤘
it's so beautiful and...and well crazy awesome
Playing this for band/instrumental music class. :')
I still listen to this till this day since I won with this song and our band in 6th grade in renaissance festival in Texas

Does anyone appreciate the low brass only part or is it just me
Ps: I play trombone
For the very few bass clarinet players, you’re not alone
Bb clarinet here. We played this for our fourth grade concert and I just find it again.
My band director is very good friends with Michael Sweeney. Plus, I love this piece!!!
This is awesome! I remember playing it in middle school and now I’m like wow.... flutes anyone?
I’m the only oboe in my band and this sounded awesome
We are playing this and it sounds so good
My band played this last year and I recently looked back at my sheet music, this song gives me a bittersweet feeling because it was the last song we played with our (now retired) conductor (i did indeed tear up midsong) but it also a ancient artifact of how far I've come since then and how bad I am at the trombone- I thought a G was high..... like the G in the top space...
from this song I've climbed my way to the 1st trombone part in Fire Dance by David Shaffer
I play the clarinet in this so I get the solo in the beginning
I just played this, great piece of music 👍👍👍
did this song for 7th grade. Clarinets were hyped af about it and we played great. During practicing, we told brass they had to be more confident after hearing the first recording of us playing separately.
For all the percussion 1 out there measure 10 is at 0:24 about
Yeye clarinet, I'm a new beginner in band hopefully I make it through •́ ‿ ,•̀
I have a concert tomorrow I’m most nervous for 1:49 the flute solo I’m a flute and I’m very nervous to play this
I play percussion and this one is so boring but it sounds so gooddddd
Everyone wish me luck! This is my band song for my Spring Concert 2019! 😁
This is my favorite song we played at honor band. I really like the second snare drum part. # PercussionistForLife
I'm playing the flute part in this song for school :)
Best song I learned in 6th grade band.
I played this on bells in 6th, i loved this so much
as a tuba player, the part in star of the country down where its just the brass taking tempo and the ending are the best parts of the entire song
I had a band concert yesterday, and this was the last song we played
Love 1:55 if your a trombone player you will agree
I love the clarinet mystical part
i play percussion in this! i love doing the symbols :)
Is anyone else wondering why they uploaded the first Celtic Air And Dance about 7 months after the second???
I play tuba and I love playing this peace
The trombone part at the start sounds really sad but it's really fun to play.
Especially on the baritone saxophone my 2 fav piece in 7th grade band!

Playing this song for my seventh grade spring concert. I play trombone and it’s really fun XD
This was one the first songs i learned on trumpet and my class slammed
Where are all my trumpets at?!🎺
right now were playing this in band and as a tenor sax, its great but terrible about how big my range of notes for this song is
We were supposed to play this, but we decided to play no. 1 since we are playing "Irish Tune From County Derry" arranged by Paul Cook (which is the first song in this arrangement).
i played celtic air and dance no 1 in seventh grade and it was great but man i wish we played this
I like the part in 2:21 the trumpets so awesome!!!
I don't know how I got here.
*O H W A I T Y O U T U B E R E C O M E N D E D I T T O M E ! ! !*
I’m a sax and this was still my favorite
the second part (star of the county down) is from how to train your dragon
Whoever dislikes this song will have to tell that to my face, the British, Irish, French, Canadian’s faces because WE made this. Yeah, Celtic is a culture/nation. Look it up.
This is one of my fave songs I’ve played. It reminds me a bit of confu panda idk why-
Love the base clarinet it Talley ties everything together
Now this is the best band song I have ever played for 7th grade
+Rajeera Geleta I am playing this in 5th grade
I'm playing this in sixth, along with Star Wars/raiders March. But in fifth I played game of thrones
