This is pretty accurate, but there are a couple things you got wrong.
1. The fanmade games one was after the boredom (and in)
2. My content creation phase only lasted a month

@@kaysarincey legal mods are ones that you can only use in modded lobbies which you literally cannot with the legal mod menus I think but illegal mod menus and mods let you-u play with mods in a normal public lobby

Based off the video, I think I skipped the boredom stage
you were kinda right on the modding part. Legal mods are mods found in the official gorilla tag modding discord, and only work in modded lobbies. Illegal mods are mods that aren't in the official gorilla tag modding discord, that works in public lobbies and private lobbies.
they are legal if they work in private lobbies where you are the highest up on the leader board, since you are then what most people call "Master", but I call it Host.
you know, gorilla tag FELT different before. when i first started, it looked different than it does now. not as in it added hundreds of new things, but it was new. and thats when i felt best playing the game.
That happends in most games and especially if its your first vr experience, my first vr game was gorilla tag and it felt really crazy seeing kids going everyway at fast speed, it was a funny experience
I feel like there’s a solid chance that you rather than going into all 10 of these phases, after the learning phase you could just go into a casual phase
I am proud to be a stage 10er. started in around mid 2021, played comp for a while until it became too toxic. I don't play as much as i did, but i enjoy playing every once in a while.
I am currently I think stage 10 I thought I was stage 8 becoming a pro because I play mid low pro rn but recently I've just teaching alot of things byw this list is 100 percent accurate

As a gorilla tag player whos been playing since the canyons came out, I went through all of the first 5 stages (except the obsession stage) and I only go back when I want to chill but also want to play a game, or when a new map or glitch comes out. Then i play for a week or 2 and drop it again. I never really developed many skills other than branching, slightly above average wall climbing, and being overall good at running away from the taggers. Which is also why I never really picked up the game again. I used to consistently be the last one alive but I'm not as good at that anymore and i was hardly ever it so I don't have tagging skill either.
I got bored of it for a bit but i didnt put it down fully, I've played it every day for atleast 1-2 hours since december

While mods that give you an advantage in public lobbys are illegal, there are mods like mono sand box or bark, that do give you advantages, yet they can only be used in modded lobbies. And great vid! Very relatable

this is 100% accurate. I used to play Gorilla tag everyday, but now, i just go into lobbies every 2 days and just chill. I wouldn't consider myself insane at the game but i am pretty good. i have played for 2 years, i used to want to go pro but I have now realized how hard that is. if there are any toxic players in a lobby i usually just tell them to shut up, and if they dont i challenge them to 1v1. After they join i usually beat them and leave. its very funny
ive been playing for like 1 or 2 years since June 26th and i got to the Boredom phase very quickly. i never was obsessed over the game, it was a small hobby at times, just getting a group of friends and playing GT, Beat S, RR, or even VRC, we found GT very entertaining but it still remains 2nd on our group fav, RR is on top fr

My obsession stage was way longer than you portrayed lol. It was around like 2-3 months for me. And that was in the music update.
1. Discovery: Yes I heard it from Jmancurly.
2. Learning: I actually asked someone to teach me but also taught myself as I went.
2.1. Learning Routes: Personally, this is kind of an easy step, especially in forest.
2.2. Learning Tricks: Ok, when I saw the slide juke I was like, "Im gonna do this" I kept going until I actually got 6 times today. Also, doing wall stuff is kinda hard.
3. Obsession: I am in this stage right now, I love it but I also get mad very easily.
4. Boredom: Me? Bored of Gorilla Tag? I HAVE A GORILLA TAG TH-cam CHANNEL!!!! I don't ever think I'm getting this stage.
5. Come back: If I do get bored of Gorilla Tag this stage will probably come to me very fast.
6. Modding: I am half in this stage, I don't have mods, but I've seen enough videos to want mods. (Also mods aren't illigal if you are in casual, unless you're ghost trolling. Banning and kicking are probably the only two FOREVER illigal mods.)
7. Content Creator: I am in this stage right now I started like 3 weeks ago and I'm already at 47 subs.
8. Pro Player: I really want this stage but I am nowhere near getting it.
9. Fangames: I am in this stage but still more in the normal Gorilla Tag world.
10. Senior: This is the furthest away from me because I have only been playing Gorilla Tag for 4 months so I don't know that much about it.
11/Bonus. Conspiracy: I kinda believe the "ghosts" but some I don't. When I first downloaded the game, the first 3 or 4 lobbies I was in, had "ghosts" the last ghost I had terrified me. It had no name, was black, and was pretty fast.
I started 7 months ago. I can teach you some stuff I know.

I went through all of these, some in a different order, some right on track. Nowadays I am kinda switching between the different stages, this month i switched from the senior stage to the modding stage again. It's whatever but this is a very accurate video nonetheless.

I remember when I first went to my friends house, played gtag, came back, researched the game, watched THIS EXACT video, then went back to his house in the future to improve at gtag, then get my own headset. At that time this video was a month old and now I have a small community
I started the game in fall of 2022, and I have improved my skills a lot
I am really good in canyons and can survive for a long time. Before I played Gorilla tag, some videos taught me how to move around and tag players, so I got a head start. I am always getting introduced to new things, like Applab games and Pizza Tower, which I thought was just a funny intro animation people messed with, until I found out it was a game.

illegal and legal mods are way different illegal mods are mods that are looked at by devs and arent allowed in any public servers legal mods can sometimes have fly , speed boost ect but they mostly have been looked at by devs and they are only allowed in casual servers , modded servers or private servers or you can use a undetected mod to use it anywhere if you use a detected mod in a public infection you have a 100% chance to be banned in 10 - 20 mins
It has been a while hasn’t it 2 years going on to 3 but it doesn’t seem that much but it is maybe because of Covid and all that but we miss the good old days the vibes I will never forget gorilla tag and all the people I met games I have played all together I love it but it won’t be the same … but you know what it is okay we have to keep going and i don’t even know get married have kids but hey we are here now why not live in the moment
i mean,i did go through all of these stages and the description of them is absolutely right, i dont know why but i didnt do them in order like for example, when i was in my modding phase and even before that, i tought some monkes or new players how to play the game and the basic mechanics this is all true but in my personal experience if being a gorilla tag player these are not in the order i played them out
My 15 friends that all play gorilla tag (yes exactly 14 of them then me 15) well, they all quit because I became the sweat

According to the gorilla tag discord server, legal mods are mods that only work in modded lobbies or are client sided like a camera mod or cosmetic mod. Illegal mods work in any lobby.

I’ve been playing since around march of 2021. I’ve never gone to any stage above stage 3. I haven’t quit the game ever and I’m still learning and playing today. I average around an 1 and a half of playtime per day for the past 2 years so not to much play time. I could be a senior but I stopped teaching people because the past 4 months I’ve focused on practice.
