My beloved Silver Fame is first across the line, without his jockey. He was Gold Cup winner in 1951. And in 1954 he was stabled next door to the house I was born in, on Tusmore Estate.

The Fences got a bit Battered after a 6 Year Lay off, and the Jockeys Found out Jumping the 19th that Going for the Gap isn't always a Good idea . Must have been a wonderful Atmosphere in the First Post War Grand National, and in 1919 Too.

5:05 - "the place looks like a battlefield... " - what's wrong with this picture? Dead and injured horses, all for money. That would be about right for humans. Very sad...

7:11 - "Tragedy" as the horse breaks his neck "in a death somersault." The horses don't ask to run this idiotic, treacherous race. So glad that in 2021, more people are aware that this ongoing (yes, The Grand National is still running strong) killing and maiming of horses, should stop. But don't worry, the jockey "fell safely."
