I cackled at your pronunciation of ‘barong’, but this is a good overview and I appreciate the effort

When I was in my mid teens & my 20s I met alot of Filipinos I do get the Filipinos mixed up with the Chinese, Latinos, & Pacific Islanders. Its my 1st time seeing a Filipino wedding I never have friends from The Philippines in my childhood, never went to Elementary nor Middle School with Filipinos in my life

You really should have added pictures of what you were talking about. That would've been more helpful then you writing "Coins" on a PowerPoint slide... what does the coin look like? What does the knotted rope look like? What does the traditional dress look like? Come on. 👎🏼

My bf, is half Mexican/half Filipino, while I'm half white/half Cuban. With all the different families, traditions, and wedding jewelry, I want to find a way to incorporate it all lol.

The reception is a waste of time and unnecessary expense the ceremony is what is important and the reason why people attend the wedding
I told my fillapina fiance that there will be no reception

I'm Portuguese (my fiance is half filipino, that's why I'm here). For us, the reception is the reason why people attend the wedding.
The ceremony is just a regular Catholic wedding, which is probably why we don't have any of these ceremony traditions. But the reception is where you can enjoy the company of the people you love. There's talking and laughter and food - all the things that are necessary for family gatherings. And of course music and dancing
