It's not silly at all!! Everyone loved the roar of Nemesis. It's good there's a retrack, but I'm gonna miss the roar 😂
Haha I didn't know if it was just me that will miss the OG roar 😄 glad I'm not alone!
@@ThemeParkTruths definitely not just you!! 😂
Good news Black Mamba in Phantasialand in Germany has the same roar although it is filled with sand. It is just more silent
Ye not just you
Yeah the roar of nemesis really makes the ride come alive when not on it and just add to the theme really well
The roar was actually a massive part of the ride. It really created a sense of fear hearing that roar as you got closer
I totally agree it's such an amazing sound
Good job it won't change it is already filled with sand after complaints in the early 2000's presumably it got louder as it aged¿?
Luckily the roar is actually still there someone recorded it testing and you can still hear the roar
A roar is still there with Nemesis Reborn but it's slightly quieter. I noticed when I went on Black Mamba in PhantasiaIsland yesterday and it had the original classic roar still there. I miss it.
Yes, I will miss it. It would be nice to keep the roar for the loop at least - something intermittent to surprise the queuing guests.
Yeah the feeling of standing close to this coaster and hearing the roar as it passes by you is such a cool feeling 😄
When you can feel it vibrate as you stand next to it is the best feeling
ITS STILL THE SAME RAW
Great bear at Hersheypark has that classic roar to it and you can here it across the park when it’s quiet
Facs
I'd love to visit there someday! That sounds awesome😄
The sound of great bear is also due to the soil and rock it was built on
Raptor has the same sound at cedar point
Great bear is almost deafeningly loud
I'll miss getting out if the car into the car park and hearing Nemesis's roar echoing through the area
LITERALLY you could hear it all over the park haha 😄
Dang I thought this had 29k likes??? This is so good. Informative and fun. U should have put an audio recording of nemesis!! Great job!!! Keep it up :)
Aww thank you for this super kind comment legend!! I appreciate that lots haha. Yeah maybe I should have just done the entire audio as just the nemesis roar 😂 I love being a coaster enthusiast and making videos like this! Thanks for the support 💜
I went on opining day and it still has a roar
Amazing news it still has the roar
You can hear a roar at cedar point on raptor
Miss it already, happy i got to go on it again last year before it closed for refurb
The roar is still there
I never knew that! That’s so cool though and interesting to see how the industry evolves their approach to noise etc 😊
Yeah I think especially if the Theme Park is close to residential areas (which Alton Towers definitely is haha) then there's more pressure on the parks to reduce the noise their coasters make! I'll miss the sound of the roar tho 😄
Fun fact, BnM, I’m actually puts the sand inside of the rails and not the box of the track like a diagram shown, that was a diagram of leviathan at Canada’s Wonderland, which has sand added to it after I was built so they couldn’t put in the rails or else the ride would become really rough as they would have to cut open the rails, and then re-weld them
The Great Baer in Hersheypark is a good example of rollercoaster with that sound
Hopefully Batman at SFOT won’t get sand. Then again it probably won’t need it because it’s right by the highway
Yeah I think it's more to do with when parks are located closer to residential areas so if it's near the highway it's probably fine! Never got to ride Batman yet but I plan on hopefully visiting in the next few years! 😄
@@ThemeParkTruthsIt’s great! Even though it’s a clone, it will wip you around in the good way!
@@Sages_life Haha I love that! I always love a good SLC coaster, I've heard a lot of good stuff about Batman!
In Hershey park there is another coaster that is Cary similar to nemesis(also made by b&m) and because of the roar it’s called the great bear
Kumba at Busch Gardens Tampa has hollow track! Its name literally translates to roar in Swahili. You can hear it half way across the park!
It still has the roar!!
Listen to what AT posted, the roar is there!!!!!
I'll miss that sound! It was the sound of conquering childhood fear ❤
When you go to chessington you still get a good old roar from vampire and its also designed by John Wardley which is epic
I've surprisingly never been to Chessington even tho I'm in the UK! I think this year I should make that trip 😄
@@ThemeParkTruths It's pretty cool, it's only got family coasters but mandrill mayhem is good
@@AssumedYou Thanks for letting me know 😄
Not been to AT for a few years - well Air was still Air and the log flume was there, so that's going back a few lol. But I did love the "Roar" of Nemmy. Thankfully, they kept that in Virtual Towers Online. :D
It might be filled with sand given that theyre surrounded by villages and such so I guess they might be trying to strive for a slightly quieter noise presence. Its a hunch but I figure it influenced the decision.
Yeah there have been a lot of noise restrictions they have to adhere by, like Th13teen not being allowed a chain lift hill and using drive tires
It sounds like a train when it goes by me
Thank you, I was dying to know why Raptor and Rougaru were so much louder than say, gatekeeper or valravn
I know that’s my fav sound a roller coaster makes!
Loud sounds mean that the structure is vibrating considerably, possibly creating wear and tear over time. It makes sense why you would want to absorb that.
They filled it in the early 2000's
Pretty sure their adding speakers to amplify the sound (like there are sound receptive devices on top of the train or smth)
That track looks exactly like great bears at Hershey park!
The "roar" sort of fits nemesis's theming sad to see it go
I’d be surprised if they didn’t, considering the extreme restrictions placed on the park as far as ride height is concerned. Besides, you can certainly still make out the roar, although it is much quieter.
Yeah true, I would personally love to live right next to a Theme Park and hear the coaster roars all day, I find it relaxing haha
It's the wheels rolling on the track.
I'm going to miss the old Rusty track
I know right it looks so cool!
The sand is not just for the sound but also reducing vibration
love the sound of an B&M and the launch of an intamin LSM
Yeah I'll totally miss it montu in tampa busch Gardens has the same sound
the roar was the best
"It's going to be filled with sand."
*Darth Vader noooo*
There’s nothing like a B&M old school roar!! 🎢
You are so right! 😄
Yeah
It’s actually a combination of the wheels friction on the track (like the sound of drawer because it has wheels on a track), the rattling of the carts and the hollowness of the track (like mentioned in the video.
Kumba at busch gardens tampa has it too
At least a lot of other older b&m models have that roar
Very true 😄
cant remove the sound from great bear. that sound is the reson why it has that name.
That's why Valravn and Raptor makes that noise and I love that noise so much
yeah and Gatekeeper must be full of sand because it doesn't roar
Oblivion im pretty sure will still have its Roaring echo
never would of thought about that...but yes, wil miss that noise
Me too, so iconic!
Classic sound of Batman at Six Flags STL, love the sound of those older B&M inverts
Don’t worry, we are all with you. Im sad about it too
It will still be an iconic rollercoaster tho😄
I will 100% miss it
it's such an iconic sound 😄
Well, at least for Smiler still makes that noise
Even with the sand I am sure there will still be a fairly loud roar, the same thing happened with Leviathan at Canada’s Wonderland, despite the fact that it is now filled with sand you can still hear it from way into the parking lot and outside of the park
this is great news imo! Besides, it still roars.. just not obnoxiously loudly
Great bear at Hershey park is not only amazing but got quit the roar
I go to Hershey and I can hear great bear all the way from jolly rancher sometimes it so loud
Hey look, Nemesis at alton towers!
Great coaster
Rip the nemesis roar, so glad I went before the retrack so I could experience such an iconic sound, it's like removing the "don't look down" on oblivion, oh wait -_-
I will miss it
What was the sound?
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. THE B&M ROAR IS LEGENDATY FOR ALL THEIR COASTERS!
B and m makes roller coasters !!!!!
Surely they can pump the roar in with hidden speakers?
Rip OG Nemesis Roar
The Great Bear from Hershey got it's name from this sound, and has a uniquely loud roar that is audible all over the park. The sound it makes is so ingrained in the identity of the coaster it will probably never be removed like this!
Ok a example of what the ride would sound like is Black Mamba and that ride still has a deaccent roar just not as loud as a roar and that ride has sand as well.
Sand that’s what part of the roar is
They should leave sand out of specific parts so it roars on cue.
Hi, at Flamingo Land Resort Yorkshire ,can u explain why Navigators brakes are bad because im not to sure Thanks.
It makes sense tho because they've always had trouble with noise. Because of local people in the area, they've often had complaints about noise.
So they've had to compromise so they can reduce noise output as well as keeping guests happy in the park.
Very correct
It was filled following increasing complaints in the early 2000's presumably it got louder as it aged¿?
It was detailed in the planning application iirc
Yeah I saw that
I just learned something new 😀
Medusa at Six Flags Great Adventure was the best roar from a coaster I got
Ooh I've never been but it looks amazing tbh
@@ThemeParkTruths It really is. Best ride there that I've been on was the Jersey Devil
Wow the brittish supermarket made nemesis
We’ve still got rougarou lol
I hear that roaring sound when I go to mirabilandia, there’s a b&m invert called katun that opened in 2000, u can hear that sound from the opposite side of the park too
It's such an iconic sound isn't it! I love it!
@@ThemeParkTruths it’s intimidating too
Come 2 Blackpool where we love the noise and have far more top rides
Yes I will miss the roar of nemesis, but I surpose we'll still get to ride it which is kinda great.
It’s NOT silly, I’ll miss it too 😢
Same here! I think a lot of us will
You are incorrect, it is confirmed that the running rails are the parts that are sand filled, not the box section.
It made my stepsister cry 😂
Doesn’t Afterburn at Carowinds makes a roar
At least Great Bear has the best B&M roar you will ever hear still!!! If they retrack it, I can see it staying hollow due to it sounding like a bear roaring
B&M i can jst imagine walking in that shop and seeing rollercoaster track 😂
LMFAOO it does make me laugh that they have the same name as a bargain shop company in the UK 😄😄imagine that. Rollercoaster track only £4.99!
Ha! This Aged Poorly!
Yep. The Batman rides make this same sound. Instantly recognizable
Great Bear at Hershey Park still has it
Oooh I've never been, is it good?
@@ThemeParkTruths Yes it is one of my favorite roller coasters there!
NOOOOOOOOOO😭😭😭
You should hear the anaconda roar in Goldreef City South Africa
Medusa six flags great adventure be LOUD
Great Bear at Hersheypark is a perfect example of this
Thanks for sharing! I never knew this 😄
it may get that not 100% but i dont think so because they know how many people love the sound
I read it in the TowersTimes article that it was confirmed, I kind of hope it's not true because I love the sound also haha, it will still be great either way!
I’ve been to Alton towers
It's a great park!
Nooooo that roar was half the fun on nemesis, made it feel like the monster was real!
Nemesis was louder due to the echo of the pit it was built in
noooo. i understand why this is happening. as well as not being able to go over the tree line, they probably aren’t aloud to make lots of roaring as such noise, due to the people who live near alton towers.
hope that helps!
Their probably filling it with sand so you can hear screams from the people when their on the coaster >:)
Yes
I wonder if it’s the same thing with Batman the ride at six flags great adventure
Maybe yeah! I think a lot of the newer coasters have sand in them now just to reduce noise overall especially if they are close to residential areas!
Good for the animals
Went back to Alton Towers for the first time this weekend just gone after 20+ years. It has gone downhill massively. Very run down, paint peeling and rotten posters hanging on walls, rides not working (not just Nemesis, also Galactica and Oblivion), 3 hour long queues, service atrocious. Really very dissapointing, I do not recommend it, it used to be where I would go for my childhood birthdays. Very sad.
It will still make a noise just not as loud unfortunately
Yeah the louder the better for me lol I love that sound
