I love your videos! Some of the best I’ve seen in a long time. You’re very thorough and your videos are good quality, so I can actually see what’s going on. In terms of requests-can you do a gathered skirt tutorial? I had made one some years back, but the waistband was so thick and uneven after I sewed it on. I could barely get it under my sewing machine. It still looks weird to this day.
I bought your cowl neck pattern and it was surprisingly easy to follow the instructions were clear and detailed. Will be purchasing this one as well to pair it up with my top. Hoping for a pattern for an oversized blazer soon
Hi Kiana amazing video! I’d be very interested as well to see more on how to adapt standard sewing patterns to custom measurements. I too am a fan of sewing satin although I’m relatively new to sewing. I jumped into the deep end and began sewing satin right off the bat, and finishing with French seams since I don’t have a serger, using a men’s vintage pattern I found on Etsy that I’ve made a few tweaks to. Great job on your videos, keep up the good work!
I just started the video, probably won't be able to do this on a mini sewing machine BUT I'll learn and once I have an actual machine I'll do this. Just not satin, that's an intimidating fabric lol Edit: Satin will intimidate me on an actual machine as well
There are lots of ways to finish your seam allowances without sergers! Like turned and stitched edges, Hong Kong seams, French seams, etc. I recommend researching “how to finish your seams without a serger”
hi, Kiana!! loved your tutorial, do you think this fabric is too much see through? i have one that’s exactly the same and i want to do this skirt sooooo bad but i’m kinda scared that is going to be transparent :/
Mines a bit see through for my liking. Instead of a facing you could do an entire lining meaning that you sew in the same way but instead of cutting out the facing you cut out a second skirt front and back. Test your fabrics first tho and see how the fabric looks single layered versus double layered to see if it’s super see through
Thanks! I've only taken one menswear class, so in terms of design, I'm much more knowledgeable about womenswear than menswear. But I did specialize in men's suits when I worked as a tailor!
I love that you include you pressing the seams in the video, a lot of youtubers don't . It's so satisfying to watch!!
You explain so well! Fantastic tutorial! Appreciate all your hard work!❤️
giiirl you make it look soo easy and you explaiin everything so well ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
OMG! I have looked for something like this for so long!

Thank you for your kind words! And I will make sure to add a gathered skirt to my list of requests! Thanks for your comment:)

Question, why did you snip at the zipper after attaching the facing? Im having a hard tome understanding that part
I was going to try this because you said beginner friendly but I think I must be pre-beginner because I got confused watching the tutorial😳
Love your vids Kiana! 💕 I don’t have a serger ☹️ what would you recommend I do instead? 🤗
