One of the only bright spots on the Reds. I know everyone says he is wasting his career on them, but at least the Cincy fans love him. He knows it too, which is why he stays with us.
By far the most underrated player in all of baseball. I hope he knows just how grateful us Reds fans are to have him call cincinnati home. I'm a little biased yes, but it's not very hard to argue that Votto is the most complete player over the past decade
I think that honour goes to Mike Trout, but Votto is a reasonable counter argument. There certainly isn't anyone better at simply getting on base. It's a shame the Reds are wasting his career.
votto must be a frustrating at bat for pitchers. 134 walks? thats insane. he's so picky with the pitches he wants to hit but he has such a good eye. he's a complete hitter.
Unfortunately home runs are still a very 'sexy' stat for voters. When the time comes and people look more deeply into stats, players that put up 'Votto' numbers will hopefully get more recognition and win MVPs. I mean come on, .320 Avg- 30+ homers- 100 RBIs- and 130+ walks (.450 OBP) insane!
KneeDeep2231 yeah too bad really the best players over the last decade are recognized as power hitters like that’s good but I’m in shock at Vottos numbers in 20 years if he isn’t in the hall of fame I mean who else other then Trout Pujols Cabrera like idk baseballs is so fun to watch but has become less fun with more metric stats and less fun the game has evolved to computers and stats which is fine but geez idk the last 2 years have felt off I been a Reds fan and it will be better, but the games been less fun would like too see average guys get more credit I value OBP better than homeruns but I get it it’s just like a better sexier stat also props too you for posting 2 years later stay safe
meszy I’ve recently started to really appreciate and value OBP, in an era where strike outs are high and people turn a blind eye to, it’s nice to have batters that succeed or try and walk more than they strike out. Even tho I don’t care for him much, Alex Bregman this past season is a great example. He hit for a good average (not above .300 but still good) but led the league in walks and didn’t strike out more than 100 times. Truly makes a person a dangerous hitter if they refuse to swing at junk and maintain a strong average. Hope we see this high strikeout age slowly fade
Those stats are absurd, he definitely has another 10 years in him if he keeps healthy because a lot of his talent is in his mental and visual acuity and understanding of pitching and the overall game, it's not just physical. He could be around a really long time like Ichiro if he takes care of himself.
Just for everyone to know. The reds can't trade votto. He has a no-trade clause on his contract and will not lift it. He intends on staying in Cincinnati for his whole career
The thing I love about votto is that he will always be good.. he will lose his power as he ages into his late 30s but the contact, vision and pure hitting I don't think will ever go away
This guy is awesome ! .. not lots of guys Play so well for the Money that they are earning in the year ! .. Class Act Player .. and even though his Team is not contending for a Championship, he truely admitted that he wants to stay with the Reds !! :) ( Ranger fan saying this)
Reds need to deal him to a contending team this season to make their rebuild official for once. Bruce is gone, Frazier's gone, Phillips is gone, Cozart's gone, Votto the last man standing on that club right now. Maybe they can trade him back home to Canada and let him spur the Jays in that tough AL East...
Votto is every bit as good right now as he was when he won MVP. I don't know if there's anyone is the game who sees the ball as well as he does.
Chris Castellani he actually has really good eyesight
There isn't. Dude has the eyes of a hawk
most underrated players in baseball.
He fell off hard since then
@@joebob6810 2021 says different
How in the hell did this boy not win MVP in 2017. Fucking absurd. I know Stanton's year was amazing too, but... no man. Votto.
Votto gets my MVP vote. He was already one of the best and he improved in... basically every way. At age 34. Good lord.
He deserves mvp he is one of the best hitters in the game 34 years of age and he will not be stopped he will have unbelievable stats in 2018
Well didn't win it
FLAMEZ 27 too bad homeruns count as a better stat than a 440 OBP dude Stanton was good but votto was just AMAZING

He had the best war in MLB 2017 so I think he should win mvp.
But didn't 😂😂😂😂😂
That Stanton did't get it very easily, only 2 score's space.

来年はどうなる?。
Imagine his numbers if he was on a contending team. He gets my vote for MVP.
I think that he is the Best hitter in the game Right now.

What would his teammates have to do with his individual stats? Lol
Jake Peterson rbi
An NBA Fan nah
one of the greatest ever tbh
Luke Watson-Sharer nah
What no
He is yeah
votto must be a frustrating at bat for pitchers. 134 walks? thats insane. he's so picky with the pitches he wants to hit but he has such a good eye. he's a complete hitter.
Triforce Of Courage he's without a doubt the hardest out in the MLB. Insane OBP.
Also, he only struck out 83 times
He is very much a disciple of the Church of Williams
Everything about his offensive stats in 2017, was 'perfect'
Wish he played for a contender. One of the most unappreciated players in the game, he deserves a ring.
Living legend
You always make the best videos, not a lot of music or ridiculous editing. Also like the stats in the description
Thank you
Outstanding Hitter! Hall of famer for sure.
Squidward Tentacles - Well said & without a doubt.
SURPRIZED he lose the mvp. he had the best stats, Stanton had only more Homeruns. Votto should have won it.
No he shouldn't,your bias

Joey Votto + Rolling Stones = Legendary
2017 Hits 179 AB 559 2B 30 3B 1 HR 36 RBI 100 SLG .578 OPS 1.032 AVG 320

When you realize he's 34
btw, The team is growing, and they have a chance to get in the playoffs if there pitchers are healthy. HAVE U SEEN LUIS CASTIIL. HE IS GREAT
Should have been MVP, robbed
Oh stop,😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
He wasn't
Dude. SO should have won MVP.
This guy is awesome ! .. not lots of guys Play so well for the Money that they are earning in the year ! .. Class Act Player .. and even though his Team is not contending for a Championship, he truely admitted that he wants to stay with the Reds !! :) ( Ranger fan saying this)
Best 1st baseman rn
Should have won the MVP
You have to like a guy who is willing to take a close pitch on a full count to walk rather than risk swinging and making an out.
Beast
Pretty ridiculous he didn't win silver slugger. Goldy is a beast with the bat but Votto is at worst the second best hitter in baseball.
Can you do one for Cozart?
Robbed
I LIVE IN CINCY GO REDS
Didn't Goldy steal a silver slugger from him?
Solid video, solid player, solid @mvpflf
Guy is ELITE. He’s going to be a vital piece for a championship soon. Probably not with Cincy but somewhere. I’d love to see him on the White Sox.
bigsmokiee55 Votto would have no chance of winning a ring especially if he was with the White Sox, we all know that.
Votto would alone retire than play with the White Sox. He intends on playing 100% of his career in Cincinnati and has the no trade claus to do it.
He said he want to be a red for his career
