      @@Thonny Good choice. Expensive toys are fun but we should wait longer to buy them when they don't cost us so much. I know from experience!

    5 to 8 inch mullet are good babe but I prefer 10 to 14 inch I like catching them big old humongous horse snook about the best place I found for big snook is down at a place at lake Worth Florida called snook Island they got some humongous snook down there

  • @floridalawdog

    So the trick to catching mullet is throwing the net as far as possible? I can never catch those quick little buggers.

    • @Thonny
      @Thonny  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes they’re spooky and quick but you can get them right off a seawall sometimes

  • @jessebolton3423
    @jessebolton3423 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Them big old snook will tear them greenbacks up I'll call a lot of big fish on the greenbacks expressing mangrove snapper

    Good job buddy. What were the factors or conditions, in your opinion, that made that particular spot so good right then? I've been asking myself that question recently when I have success in area with multiple fish and not just the random fish passing by....looks like maybe some good current and deeper holes than what was against the mangroves?

  • @JMall0R
    @JMall0R 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Man that was awesome. I wonder why you did not go for a 40 or even 50lb leader on those greenbacks after geeting the 25lb frayed by a big snook? That would allow u to have more control on the fish even on the lighter set up right? Any drawbacks on using a stronger leader? Thanks!

    • @Thonny
      @Thonny  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It would be tough to cast with 40lb leader cause the greenbacks are usually small. Typically you want to match the leader with the size of the bait you’re using. I only use 40lb leader when I’m throwing big mullet or big bait in general and it all depends on where you’re fishing.
