Bro....I just noticed that. Just saw a GS for sale with the ls7 from the Z06 and the Trans and rear diff from a ZR1....maybe their own to something. Not that the ZR1 motor is bad LOL

I think the ZR1 has better gearing. Reason I say that because every time I see these 2 cars do highway pulls the ZR1 seems to have an advantage launching no matter how powerful the ZO6 is. Both cars are truly I credible

It's a clear difference in gearing. Nice tall gears are your friend when your start making this kind of power. The less time you spend shifting, the more time you spend putting the power down.

Nah he wasn't. They're both around the same power level with ZR1 boost only.
I also like how the Zr1 stayed in 1 gear and the Zo6 went up 2 gears during the 2nd race.
I just want to know how a lighter car with twin 62mm turbos making probably close to 1,000RWHP managed to lose to that ZR1. Is his shifting really that bad? I mean he did have decent tires on that thing and it didn’t look that cold outside.
After spending way more on mods than the guy in the ZR1, I’d be pissed!!!
Many reasons why a 2650 blower ZR1 can easily beat a 6 speed car with more power. Power sounds good on paper but it comes down to the setup and drivability of the car. Especially with traditional 6 speed manual cars.
-My guess is that the ZR1 should be a little lighter than a twin turbo Z06 with a big air to water intercooler ice tank setup
- The trans and diff gearing in the ZR-1 are much better for higher end speed and roll racing. Longer gearing makes shifting easier and longer times in the gear.
- Those 2650 positive displacement setups have instant power and are in their sweet spot of the power band well before a bigger turbo car. They hit hard instantly. Reminds me of a nitrous car. Don't need to spool or break boosting like turbo cars.
- Driver mod. It seems the ZO6 driver had a hard time hooking and keeping the car stable between shifts. A 6 speed set up capable of 1000 plus horsepower is a major task to control on the streets.
- The ZR1 was hooking and its power was not too much for its tires & street. The ZO6 despite have a drag pak with big stickies in the back was over powering those tires on the street. In this case too much power that you cant put down or use is only hurting you. Especially if you have to shift sooner as well.

Turbos aren’t always better brother that’s why. The instance tq and mid range of a good blower is hard to beat on a car with good gearing. Can turbos make more power sure but power for power are they better now. I beat turbo cars that make the same or more power than me all the time I’m my Ysi power lme 416z. Tq and power under the curve win races not dyno sheets.

I think it’s gearing. Seems like the z06 has like 3.73’s. If it had 3.42’s he’d be in gears as long as the zr1 is and pull
