Biata, what you are doing is a huge undertaking, I hope you know that, I have nothing but respect for you, keep plugging at that house I promise you it will be worth it later, but you are right cherish the time you have right now, that’s why it’s called the “present “ live laugh love, you have a wonderful family, and support group, you also have had great builders to work with along the way that take time to educate, so helpful. You are not letting anyone down if you can't live in your house in the winter. Building a house like yours, by a person with no experience in the field, is not a 100-meter dash, it's a marathon. You've been through the stages from being an apprentice to the moment you hammer the last nail and screw the last screw in, and you still don't know everything about building a house. The only thing you'll know on that day is that this house is your masterpiece and if something isn't done perfectly, it's the beauty of making mistakes. I told you a while back, not to be proud of what you accomplish, but to be proud of what you overcome. Keep working, learning, making mistakes, and being the person you are.👍👍💪
I'm old enough to be your grandmother, and I must say, I'm so proud of you! You are so detail conscious and so well balanced in every way. When you get frustrated and just step back for a moment and think it all through. Yay YOU! Nothing worth having is ever easy! I just can't say enough! Keep up the great work!
Great job on the siding Biata. Doing the exterior on any of my projects is always a challenge, and I've been doing it for almost 50 years. Your little do over to center your seam was a lot better than most of the workers I get do on their first time. And they are supervised by experienced people. You are doing a fantastic job and should be very proud of yourself. Take your time and enjoy the process. I learned this the hard way when I was doing personal projects by myself and rushing along like I was on the jobsite with others helping. I tore down a whole shed that I rushed through to get it done on a time limit and ended up hating it. I could see every mistake that I made while rushing. Your daughter is going to be very proud of you when she lives in your luxury abode. I would not be surprised if you hear her telling friends that "My mom built this house." Keep it up.
I hate to see you disappointed and frustrated over your failures or difficulties but It's awesome to see you get it right and celebrate. You're doing a great job, don't rush. Take your time so you'll be satisfied with the results instead of irritated with the flaws.
Absolutely the best idea to accept the delay. You have achieved so much, and to rush the end would cause you to either cut corners or settle for ok! You deserve it to look perfect.!! Just think, this WILL be the last winter in the trailer and you will have plenty of time in the run up to Christmas 2025 to relax and truly enjoy the fruits of your labour. ❤
@@SimpleLivingwithBiata oh, and I changed the year... I meant 2025 apparently I am a year ahead.. I don't think it will take a year for the interior. 🤣😊.

The shell of the house is always the biggest showing. You are dried in which is huge. Inside work always takes the time. Cabinets, doors, trim, lighting, washer, dryer, tub, shower, Etc. don’t beat yourself up. It took me 3 years to get in my house and it’s still not finished after 15 years. You are doing great!😊
Thank you so much @flowerstone. There's nothing wrong with not having a finished home honestly. If your home provides warmth and a safe place for you and your family, who cares if the trim or whatever it might be isn't done ;). Thanks for the comment
I’m so excited for you! So beautiful! That’s ok you’re not getting in. Spring is just around the corner !!! Your daughter is young and she will be happy as long as you are all together.
The siding is looking great, and your hard work and planning shows through. Also the colors of the trees are beautiful. I am glad you are going to back off a little to take a slower pace and spend more time with family and recharge your batteries and tackle the work ahead. Enjoy a slower pace enjoying the scenery around you and family time.
You are doing great, Biata! I love precision you’re putting into every step! Quality takes longer but it’s worth it. When you’re done, you’ll have a home that makes you smile every time you look around.
I've done a lot of siding over the years and I have to say you did a fantastic job. So many contractors hire young help or people who just don't take pride in their work and quite often it looks like shit. So good on you. God Bless from your Canadian Friend.
Awh thanks so much! It’s so true, sometimes people don’t take pride in their work! I hope bosses appreciate their employees who want their customer to be satisfied! My hubby takes pride in his work on the sites he’s on! Can’t wait for him to install our kitchen hehe
Biata I'm glad you are okay with the realization that you won't make it in this winter. Thirty years ago I made myself very sick trying to meet a deadline when building my house. When it was all said and done it really didn't matter that it took me an additional two months to complete. It ended costing me a little more in interest payments on my construction loan but it wasn't the end of the world. I think this is why I consider myself one of your biggest fans. On a lighter note the color looks great and I love the contrasting direction of siding. Also, great to see Craig and your mom again.
Awh man it’s so hard eh? Thanks for sharing this with me. Yah it’s a bit more money this winter heating two spaces and paying for construction home insurance and steep fees on the Line of credits but it’s going to be worth it!
Your siding is looking great. You are always so hard on yourself. Just remember that very few things are easy the first time you do them. By the time you're done, siding will be easy for you. Easy enough, you'll be able to put siding on your daughters home one day.
Dont rush. Enjoy your time and the experince. I can tell you that you will miss the closeness of living in a camper. There is a bright side to not living in a camper. You and your family can go camping and have that closeness any time you want. Your doing amainzing keep going!!!
You are doing just fine. Jobs take just as long as jobs take. Circular logic, but where home building or remodeling is concerned, that is the way it is. I like to make progress every day. That is a good day.
@@SimpleLivingwithBiata You may have already done it. I strongly suggest you begin working on achieving your builder's license. Love, love, love the colour of the siding looks FRIGGIN AMAZING!! Another amazing accomplishment from Rock Star Biata!! Good for you for taking care of yourself next winter when you are cozy in your home it won’t matter that you lived in a trailer for 3 yrs
Good morning 🌅, Biata and family, That looks amazing, putting it right was the best thing to do, well worth the effort and time spent on getting it right, look 👀 forward to seeing next week’s episode, stay safe, ❤ to you all, 💔 From France.
Your attention to detail, even through learning so many new trades with some inevitable trial and error, is producing a great end product. Make sure your daughter picks up on the life lessons of how complicated it is to build from the ground up, learning to do so many things well, and the uniqueness of your journey to home ownership.
Biata don’t over think it … KISS theory …. When doing siding work use stainless steel roofing nails and don’t sink them all the way give it room for your Siding to be able to move. Same applies to your Trim pieces like your J channel and H channel…. The guys not using the crimp tool are the guys whose siding is blowing off in a windstorm use the crimp tool. It works well Stay Safe 🇺🇸👊🏼👊🏼✌🏼🪚🔨….. why do you think your receptacle Trim blocks will not work?
Hi Biata, from the UK, please don't beat yourself up too much Hun, even professionals fall behind on deadlines, you are doing a great job, and the siding looks amazing, enjoy the experience, trust me, in years to come, you can look back and be proud of what you have accomplished, and say to yourself, "I DID THAT", keep up the great work, I'm looking forward to next weeks episode, all the best Hun.
I haven’t seen the beginning of your work, but I will say this, you are doing your best, and that house will be your cozy home. So, give yourself grace, because when it’s done, you will feel proud, and I hope joyful. Best wishes to your family also…
You handle the stress so well. Wise decision to take a breather and relax for a few minutes before tackling the problem again. Also a wise decision to slow down and not set yourself tight deadlines. But for those times you may feel disheartened, just think about your daughter at school; telling all her teachers and friends that her mum is building a whole house from start to finish! How proud she must be. Well done you!
You are doing a wonderful job on the house and you are only one person and don't beat yourself up just look how far you come by learning as you go and your daughter is very proud of you watching you build your family's forever home
The siding looks amazing!! Great job. Regarding the bad news, I'm glad you've reached this decision/realization. Even I was stressed about you making it into the home before winter. You'll get there and it will be worth the wait. :)
Absolutely great job this week Rockstar! I’m so happy you decided to step back and think of yourself and your happiness! Your house isn’t going anywhere! Take your time enjoy every moment. And just think when the time comes you and your baby girl will be decorating her room and having those memories to look back on! I love you too kiddo! See you next week! 😊
The siding looks fabulous!!! Great job. As for not getting in the house before winter - that was a daunting task and NO, not worth your mental and physical health, plus the valuable time with your family. It will get done and when it is, you will have a positive outlook on this huge accomplishment!!! We will enjoy the journey with you as progress continues!!! Enjoy life!
Was nice to see that parts of the facade have come up, looks more like a house. Be nice that the whole family had the opportunity to support you this time. If the plastic corner trim has been in the sun, it can create problems with the corners are difficult to get even especially if they were exposed to pressure when they were in the sun.
It all looks fantastic - you've done an amazing job so far and it looks amazing. These videos will be a massive inspiration for your daughter and will be there to remind her of what it takes to have a lovely big house full of love !!! Good on you.
Biata, I know you’re disappointed, but your comments are spot on. You have done an amazing job. Your attention to detail is just spot on. One of the many reasons you have so many admirers. Keep strong, healthy and patient.lots of love from the old man on the UK
Biata! You did an awesome job on the siding! It was a great idea to do that end as you will look out on it from the caravan and see what you have accomplished. You should just set up a movie room in the house and have some family time in one room of the house. 🇦🇺
Hi Biata! I love what you have done on the siding so far. You are a perfectionist and it shows with how amazing everything turns out to be. I'm sure you will look back and be happier that you have taken your time rather than rushed things to be able to get in for winter. Quick suggestion, just for Christmas, set up your tree and decorations, get a large table inside for the family and even though it's not finished it will feel really special and will be a memory for all of you. See you next week, take care, Naomi x PS, I'm late watching because of the Formula 1, sorry 😂
It is coming together very nice. Take your time and do it correct. I understand and feel your pressure. It is so nice to finally see the star of this channel again even if he is busy. Keep up the great work.
Building is such a humbling experience. We have never met our " Move in Dates" Despite working every free chance we had, getting our kids to bed at 7:30 in the trailer and working until Midnight or later, we both worked full time so we'd work All day Saturday and sunday morning and do a fun afternoon Sunday. It's hard. But there was moments as we went where we were able to do some hybrid living. Once our custom built in closets were installed you bet I had those cleaned and all our clothes out of the trailer into the closet, when the kitchen was installed we put our normal fridge in there and coffee machine in the house haha. Basically I'm saying its hard but it'll start to come together and then you can hang in your house at night and maybe sleep in the trailer. Our first build the first thing we had was a tv and a couch lol
Great progress 💪 it looks amazing 🤩 but the key part was at the end.... I see you... I'm at the same place right now 😕 getting an impact on my mental and physical health for rushing out before the winter... Greetings from Poland ❤
Awh it’s so hard. It’s seriously so draining. Taking the pressure off has been so incredible. A lot of people don’t realize the time it takes to vlog the build and edit these videos too. So sometimes things just have to slow down or I’ll implode haha
@@SimpleLivingwithBiata slowdown is definitely better 🤩 Today I came back from a building site, and the first thing I did was watch your video, it helped me so much 🤩 I'm on the final stretch to finish groundwork before the frost, and I'm taking time off 😅
Girl you are doing great my son that’s three loves watching your videos. He’s even excited for your family 😅 as long as you have each other that’s more than enough. We are rooting for you from Texas 🎉🎉
Good morning, B. ... and Hello Craig. I am thrilled on your behalf - you are getting there! Putting up trim and (forgot the term..) outer layer?... That is a BIG deal. I personally am not a fan of having both horisontal and vertical lines along the same side of the house, I would go horisontal all the way around...... but it is your house. As long as you and your family are happy, everything is good. I recognize the frustration of being so close to the build, that you know EVERY little detail that is just a smidge off "perfect" - even if you know, that once you are done and you start living there, noone (not even yourself) will notice, knowing that the imperfections are there, bugs you. Don't worry, in a year you will have forgotten. Stay positive minded, stay safe, and take time with your family. 👍👍👍👍
I think you’re remarkable woman. You’ve got a good head on your shoulders the details that you work out and put into that house when you are finally finished that house is going to be gorgeous. Keep up the great work girl.
Calculations on your siding on your house it looks absolutely gorgeous you've done an absolutely good job you should be proud of yourself you have absolutely no everything and sorry you won't be in for your winter but hey you being next winter don't stress and just take your time and you've done a beautiful job on building your house from scratch you should be so proud of yourself your friend Andrew from Tasmania Australia
I am so happy to hear that you have prioritized your life. I was seeing you decay as a person with all the pressure and stress building. You were breaking down fast. Now you see whats really important and its not a timeline. Cherish every second you have with your family and child. They grow up so fast and those little moments like cuddling on the couch will fade away as they get older, then you realize just how much you miss those moments. Sometimes, the finish line is not whats important, its the journey getting there and the memories made along the way that mean the most... AMAZING job on the siding, that looks fantastic...
I love the tall vertical wall next to the horizontal one 😊❤ !! Looks awesome 👌 👏 👍 Im glad u saw it wasnt gunna be right and U went back and started over !! Well done 👏 ✔️ 👍
That bit you quoted about having respect for the trades and not expecting yourself to be as good as the pros in your first attempt is _SO_ true. Keeping that in mind is another part of taking care of yourself and your mental health.
A excellent video of YOU doing an excellent job. Well done to You, & The Crew. WE Love YOU TOO Biata. Take GOOD care of Yourself, & all the very best to You, & Your Family
I think you are doing amazing job mostly on your own and remember to take your time and take time for yourself and don't get down on yourself and when you get the outside done then you can move back inside and start finishing stuff up and good luck and be safe and God bless you guys and see you next week
Biata you did a spectacular job. Thanks Craig. Biata I am glad that you finally understand what a lot of us have been telling you. Like I said last week I really wish we could have a work day at your house to at least get the outside done and maybe some insulation in the ceiling. Talk good care of yourself beautiful lady. Much love from Washington state
Soooo nice to see you wanting to "do it right"!!! The payoff is so rewarding, despite the loss in time and energy. (virtual pat on the back) Looks fantastic!!!
The amount of work that you are doing is truly incredible and there is no reason to feel bad about how fast it isn’t going. The finishing part always takes more time than people think. I understand that you are disappointed, but you shouldn’t feel that you are letting your family down, they are very blessed to have you and your work ethic. As far as the morons negative comments….ignore them!!! Look after your self first….the rest will all fall into place. Take care. ❤️
Glad to see you stopped rushing. That causes depression you regret later. But look at it this way. This winter you will be living in the trailer but also camping in the house as now you have a large warm extra space to be in that was not there last winters.
I do not hear any bad news. You will miss those moments with your daughter, she is getting so big. You will get in when you get in. Nobody will come running out of the woods and yell at you if it is not done by some time frame in your head.
I've said it before, its a hell of a lot of work, as long as your trim cuts are consistent they will be fine, I like using,90 degree offset snips, thet work better for those small trim pieces and returns, looking, damn good! 👍👍👍👍
In the Netherlands we screw it with rvs pan head screws. And not to tight so it can move something. But we do it also on wooden slats (22mm x 45mm) so it can breath. In Canada and America you do things so different :)). the black looks very nice.
There's a big difference between getting the exterior water tight and enough in there to make it habitable. I still think the dry wall will fly up when you get the hang of it (those vaulted ceilings could be fun though!) but then there's fitting the kitchen, bathroom, flooring etc. Personally I think you're more or less on plan. You can work in the warm and dry over winter which was the real goal. Glad you've realised that now and stopped beating yourself up! Your daughter will look back on this time as a bit of an adventure in years to come.
Taking care of your health is very important. It is looking so beautiful. Like I said just take one step at a time it will come.look at the progress you have made. Be happy. You are doing beautiful great job. Take care of your self.
*Perhaps I could put this into some perspective for you Biata ? You need to remember you are only one person doing the work load of what would normally be performed by an entire team of construction workers from various trades working almost simultaneously, while you, as a single worker, can only perform one task at a time. There are times you have had assistance from other individuals, but the bulk of the work has been pretty much performed by yourself ! This alone is a tremendous feat of accomplishment of considerable proportions. Frankly, I'm surprised you are at the point of construction you are now already at ! 👍 I must congratulate you on a job incredibly well done. After all, you are not a long experienced home construction contractor, and you have had to teach yourself every step of the way ! What an amazing Woman you truly are Biata ! I would say you are a person of great courage and determination. ☝*
Biata, you're amazing! One more good advice. The lost 2" piece should be glued with silicone for not falling out! About every 2' put a little sillicone or caulk in to the locking channel and than put it in place!
Fantastic episode! Happy to see Craig and your mom! I want to say the last time we saw them was at you Birthday gathering. Love the siding color! You’re doing a fantastic job! Please continue to take care yourself and your family! Those that love you and truly appreciate will always be here to follow you in all your up and coming endeavors! So until next time, take care and I looking forward to watching the next video!
The siding looks great. Take your time with this build don’t set a time line. By setting a time line you will feel rushed. It sucks that you’re not going to be in for winter but as you get more things finished you will be able to step back and take in your accomplishments. Take the time on the special details. That is what will really show in the end. Keep working hard like you are this hours looks amazing
Thank you so much. I’m feeling sooo much better taking the pressure off. I’d still like the home heated before Christmas to spend some time in there Christmas Day! But that timeline is reasonable compared to my last one :)
I’m sorry you won’t be able to move in. Don’t beat yourself up about it. Finishing my parents house was rough in our mental health. I did hate the house at one point. Even now as we moved in I see things that annoy me. I wish we had more time to do things properly, but hey. I say take your time. Enjoy the journey. You are so good at what you’re doing. Sending good vibes.

Holy crap the siding looks amazing! Perfectly centered & the alternating pattern fits so well. Persistence definitely pays off!!
Thank you! haha sorry to stress you too. We're realized we will manage. It's not that bad in here once you take the stress off
Yay, Craig and mom,!!
What a great looking job Biata, we both love the job you are doing and don't be too hard on yourself with the corners.. Wow, awesome job 😊😊
Enjoy life!
The vinyl siding looks great. Your house is coming along great. When you are building it yourself, It takes more time. You are doing great. Keep it up
Thank you! And it’s so true! It takes longer
You're too kind. Thank you so much
Biata! You did an awesome job on the siding! It was a great idea to do that end as you will look out on it from the caravan and see what you have accomplished. You should just set up a movie room in the house and have some family time in one room of the house. 🇦🇺
We all learn as we go. Try not to be so hard on yourself. You're doing a wonderful job! You should be so proud of yourself!
There is light at the end of your tunnel----we can all see it --Won't be long now !!! Hang in there !!
Thanks so much for the positivity!
IM SO PROUD OF YOU…. 🔥🔥‼️🫡 You’re a true Queen… and continue to take breaks… your mental health is way more important.. Love From Jamaica 🇯🇲…
Your attention to detail is refreshing to see in todays world. In years to come this little delay wont matter. Your doing great keep it up.
Awh thank you! I'm so happy with the little details!
See you next week, take care, Naomi x
PS, I'm late watching because of the Formula 1, sorry 😂
Awh that’s so sweet! Thanks for sharing with me!
The siding is the most perfect colour. Bless you, you are working so hard. Take good care of yourself and your family 🇿🇦💓
Thank you! Can't wait to do the wetland side next week!
Love the siding layout and your perfectionist attitude in making it look "right". Blessings, stay well.
Thank you! I'm so pleased with the layout
Awh thank you so much. Some of those details have been so worth putting time into!
Loved the scenery around you today. The colors were gorgeous! The siding is looking good, love the color. Thanks for sharing Biata....
Ah I love this. The finish line isn't what's important .. it's the journey getting there. Thank you so much!
Great job the walls look great. Progress stay with it your doing an awesome job.
All things happen for a reason, take your time and enjoy the experience. You are doing a great job and when it is done you will love it even more.
I think it’s all good news. You’re one superstar. ❤
You are AWESOME! Such an inspiration! ❤
Your house is turning out amazing Biata!
I love the tall vertical wall next to the horizontal one 😊❤ !! Looks awesome 👌 👏 👍 Im glad u saw it wasnt gunna be right and U went back and started over !! Well done 👏 ✔️ 👍
I just love your outlook on life! Keep up the great work and keep being awesome.
That bit you quoted about having respect for the trades and not expecting yourself to be as good as the pros in your first attempt is _SO_ true. Keeping that in mind is another part of taking care of yourself and your mental health.
Yes it's absolutely true. I was mind blown haha. It's a lot of work to learn the ins and outs of this trade.
A excellent video of YOU doing an excellent job. Well done to You, & The Crew. WE Love YOU TOO Biata. Take GOOD care of Yourself, & all the very best to You, & Your Family
That siding is looking killer
Thank youuu!!! I love it
I think you are doing amazing job mostly on your own and remember to take your time and take time for yourself and don't get down on yourself and when you get the outside done then you can move back inside and start finishing stuff up and good luck and be safe and God bless you guys and see you next week
What you’ve done looks phenomenal! Keep up the great work‼️💪🏻
The amount of work that you are doing is truly incredible and there is no reason to feel bad about how fast it isn’t going. The finishing part always takes more time than people think. I understand that you are disappointed, but you shouldn’t feel that you are letting your family down, they are very blessed to have you and your work ethic. As far as the morons negative comments….ignore them!!! Look after your self first….the rest will all fall into place. Take care. ❤️
It looks great Biata. You are doing a great job.
Masterful use of vinyl. Some of the best I've seen.
Awh thank you so much!
So true :). I appreciate it.
I've said it before, its a hell of a lot of work, as long as your trim cuts are consistent they will be fine, I like using,90 degree offset snips, thet work better for those small trim pieces and returns, looking, damn good! 👍👍👍👍
I just love all of this, you’re doing amazing and you are such an inspiration!
WOW what a beautiful job BIATA .Keep up the good work ,stay healthy and God bless you and your family
Thank you!!
Keep positive and keep God even closer Biata❤
I love the dark look, its stunning. The care youre taking to do things right is well worth it, it looks slick.
Thank you so very much! I love the dark look too!
In the Netherlands we screw it with rvs pan head screws. And not to tight so it can move something. But we do it also on wooden slats (22mm x 45mm) so it can breath. In Canada and America you do things so different :)).
the black looks very nice.
Use screws on the siding corners and anywhere you can’t get a nail easily !!! GREAT WORK!!!
Looks fantastic I have been here since the start what a journey you and your family have had you should be so proud of yourself ATB
Slow n Steady wins the race !!!
The siding looks absolutely beautiful!!!
Taking care of your health is very important. It is looking so beautiful. Like I said just take one step at a time it will come.look at the progress you have made. Be happy. You are doing beautiful great job. Take care of your self.
Thank you! Feeling much better slowing down
*Perhaps I could put this into some perspective for you Biata ? ☝*
You’re awesome. This is a really good reminder. Mainly alone on most projects has been tricky! The learning curve has been steep. But worth it
@@SimpleLivingwithBiata You have True Grit Biata. 👍👍👍
You should be proud of yourself looks great 😊😊😊
Biata, you're amazing! One more good advice. The lost 2" piece should be glued with silicone for not falling out! About every 2' put a little sillicone or caulk in to the locking channel and than put it in place!
You and your family are amazing 😊🤩👍🏼
Looks amazing good job don't give up keep going!!
Glad your taking the time to get it right, looks great around the window.
Thank you! I'm so happy with it!
As always beautiful work. Take for Biata first and the rest will get done in time.
Thank you so much for all of this. I appreciate it a lot
Good morning Biata!
Good morning!
Your doing amazing, keep it true and carryon being the warrior you are 😊 🇬🇧
I’m sorry you won’t be able to move in.
