Haha - I think it must be the rather "sturdy" body that makes them too lazy to get up. My Arab looks like it takes him no effort at all to get up in a sec while my Frisian is huffing and puffing and blowing air through his nose and taking forever to first pull one leg in front of him and then the other and then slowly pushing himself up. To be fair he weighs 1984 lb/141 st and the Arab only 992 lb/70 st but still. They're both still almost babies :-D
Clydesdale: You try standing 24 hours a day. Frieshian: Dad said to get you up even if I have to kick you Clydesdale: Little brother, I am getting up just to kick your arse.
Surfer Rosa The lady and the recorder aren't being annoying, they were insisting for Red the clysdale stallion/gelding to stand up, with the help of the frisian sport horse, he was able to get up.
Called 'dry stone walls' in the UK. Fairly common in northern counties of England in particular. Many of them are centuries old (with patching over the years).

Oh this is absolutely classic! I hope whomever has recorded, owns this video doesn't mind. If I share this to Facebook? It is so priceless, epic; words won't touch. Yes watched this more than once.
Thbey are looking at eachother... Fries (Friesian): ‘Shall we?’Clydesdale: ‘Meh. Not yet. Let her work for it for a change. Hihihi’Beautiful horses by the way.
Didn't you see the way the Frisian was whapping his tail around. He was getting sick of the other horse not getting up. "OK, you, enough lollygagging around."
No. Horses do lie down. If there was something wrong with him he would be doing other things like rolling or sweating or breathing really fast. Horses take turns watching over each other when they sleep. There was another horse over the fence watching them. If it were just Red and the black horse then one of them would've been standing. When me and my horse are out and he's grazing he hates when I sit because that means that he has to watch out for predators for us and he doesn't want to. Lol, he wants to daydream while he eats.
Wish someone would tell YOU how to properly attach the end cards to your video so as NOT to obscure the actual thing we all clicked on the video to see.
And for all the folks who think that this human is mean and not letting them take a nap, what if that wasn't her house, but they were just on a walk and had to get back home to see the vet or ferrier? She honestly wasn't mean, they weren't wearing halters, or bridles or bits, she was gentle and asked nicely.
I hate when humans force horses to do something for a video. Let them be horses. They only sleep 2 hours a day at 10 minute intervals. Humans are such control freaks.
Linda Maria de la Rosa tbh she didn't force her horses to do that. Maybe it was time to get up because horses can lay from 25 to 30mins if not they can kill themselves, think b4 u post c:
It's completely natural for horses to sleep like that, and they can get very injured if they lay down too long, their bodyweight can crush their organs. She was helping, not hurting.
Really? I've had horses for years. They nap at noon for about an hour standing up. Because bad things happen if they lay down too long. They take forever to eat. Then they want to play. Shorty, would love to grab the pooper scooper & hurl it around with the greatest glee. He would also bully poor Buddy something fierce in the pasture. Buddy was like 3 & 1200 lbs & shorty was like 30 & 600 lbs. He'd walk over & put his butt against Buddy's butt & push him off the grass he was eating.
endofdays ! If a horse lays down for too long they could cut off the circulation in some of their lower parts of their bodies therefore they could be getting them up for that reason. Also it could be the time for feeding or grooming! You always need a routine and shouldn't break it unless it's like weather issue or issue with the horse.
Friesians are "brown" for 2 main reasons, They are out doors a lot, so that the sun lightens their hair, which will darken again in cold of winter... Or, they are still foals/ yearlings, whose coats darken as they become older. Those beautiful photos you have seen are mostly Photo- shopped!
OMGOSH - so adorable. That's real communication vs. obedient behavior. Smart horses and great human to allow horses to be authentic. Love this!
That was amazing!!!! Very smart younger horse!!

Oh I know this all too well. But for me its the Frisian that insists on napping while my Arabian tries to get him up.
wirina holstein yes! My Friesian (who is quite young) is always being told to get by my 30yr old Arab

What a wonderful privilege to have the land and money to be able to have horses.

It doesn’t look like a friesian but it seems small or like a yearling so I find it I may believe you
Why would they lie about the breed? Always negativity!
Small because he's still growing.
If you say please, he would get up much sooner..👍👏
I ain't gettin up I ain t gettin up so stop bothering me I'm trying to chill.
Damn humans won't let me chill..

The clydesdale is really nice. Why do you rug him? Looks like a fine day.
The hair slows its' growth, perhaps? Big job shaving BIG horse.... Or maybe he has arthritis or similar complaint ..
Friesian: get up honey, time for school!
Clyde: oh come on five more minutes!
Friesian: Cmon, get up!
Clyde: hmf, **gets up**
Actually, I think it was the horse on the other side of the stone wall who made the suggestion to the little Freisen...
Animals have so much more Empathy than humans..Humans should take the time to learn from them.
