I am going to Visual Studio Live in San Diego this year, it has been canceled for the last two years. I like to look at the sessions ahead of time and pick the ones that I can use in my job or that I might be able to implement at work. I also make sure not to make any major changes at work the week before, so I wont be interrupted while I am there. I also share everything I can with my employees when I get back.
You are so right about online conferences vs in person: it is way too easy to tune out or get distracted watching an online speaker compared to being there in person.
Talking to other devs is really great and while I haven't gone to an event or conference, I have talked to a senor developer who works in my same field and his knowledge/advice is really good. However, he has multiple more years in development than I do and he is really hard to understand because I don't have the baseline knowledge to keep up. Though it is still worth it to talk to him and learn how he does things.
Hi Mr. Tim, I'm a huge fan from long time ago. I would really appreciate a video on Clean Architecture with .NET 6 and your opinion about it and how it would benefit us if we switch from 3-Tier or N-Tier architecture. The resources out there is not enough. Thanks in advance.
Great video, one short question do you have a video when to use static and non static classes? I dont found one, so its something for your suggestion page? Im not full confident when to use them and to be sure I use most of the time non static classes to avoid any problems.
That would be a great discussion for a future video. Please add it to the list on the suggestion site so others can vote on it as well: suggestions.iamtimcorey.com/
Conferences are reinvigorating. It changed my perspective mentally about my career. I have also found hackathons very useful. Conferences are for big ideas. Hackathons are great for quick exposure to a new tech stack. They both give you the day dreaming effect and networking. Have you ever gone to a Hackathon?
Be the change you want to see. Get a small group together yourself. Meet in someone's house or public space. Just get together for coffee and to talk shop at first. Grow from there.

I've attended a few but never participated.
We have a lot of developers in Pakistan. But unfortunately there are no much conferences or dev meetups. I wish we had some dev gatherings near to us.
