Hello everyone! You might have wondered why I didn't participate to the 2019 short film contest. That's because I was working for Valve on the Void Spirit trailer and augmented reality at TI9. (If you clapped along with Ogre Magi or Earthshaker during the drafts, that was me! Gotcha.)
Maxime. Can you persuade valve to make proper lore for dota 2? I mean like LoL. Their cinematic really did well and attract people. Dota2 should do it. Because many people doesnt know the background of the story of each character unless they were playing warcraft. Thanks in advance. I really hope every character has a proper lore and link to each other that will be great asset to make dota 2 stay relevant forever
I fucking swear your context entries are gold. I just love all the small details. It's one thing to get a good story going that has good jokes. But look at that lighting and facial expressions. Seriously hope you win
Jason Lee idiot how the hell was this try hard? Unlike the other entries the dialogue was brainstormed and well put together that was super hard if you ask me only a moron like you wouldnt get this briliant film
Honestly no clue how this got EIGHTH. The animation is fantastic, and the voice lines used were perfect. The animation quality on 3rd place was terrible and that actually got top 3. Real shame.
It's because I tried to not focus too much on comedy and my story ended up being a bit too confusing. I clung onto too many elements that I should have condensed or simplified. I'm still happy about the result though 🙂
Kudos to you for trying out something new this year. You could have gone for something similar to your last year's submission and win again but you opted experimentation. PS: Looking forward on the behind the scenes for "What does a hero truly fear" :)
@@MaxLebled Yeah. The level of modeling, animation and voice lines are still top. The story is a little confusing in this 90s film. I guess Max is just trying some stuff he enjoys.
Really nice and cute. I like the fact that there's not an overarching grand story (which you've done well before with last year's entry), but these short snippets which are really polished and nice.
More to come eventually! I have new work out there, it's just not on this channel since it's been work for Valve (True Sight TI8 and TI9, Void Spirit trailer). I am still very much active, and working on new things, but you know, unfortunately, I have to somewhat prioritize what can pay the bills at the end of the day, and the ad revenue from 90-second videos isn't very significant. 😛
after watching this something come to my mind. what if you use quelling blade on a tree and there's a 5% chance of dropping a mango. hmm might be a good idea i guess. hahaha. anyways incredible work as always. hope you get 1st place again this year :) GL!
@@thedream6791 waste time? Obviously no one will dedicate themselves to it but both sideline carries are always around trees and meele cores almost always get QB and constantly cut trees down anyway to create paths... If anything what OP is suggesting could be super broken

It won't work. Noone will waste time quelling on trees waiting to get that 5% chance. They can farm faster killing creeps and buy mango for 70 gold.
