Harry has told the world that William is his arch nemesis and that he wants nothing to do with the institution of monarchy. A coronation is put together by the Govt, the instituion of monarchy and the Church. The reason for the backlash was that the expectation of citizens of such countries is that high profile visits from eg Heads of States, working Royal Members etc is that 'goodies' will be left behind in the form of more aide, trade agreements being signed, bilaterals being held on the side, investment opportunities being agreed, partnerships forged etc etc. With 'goodies' assured then the citizens have no problem with security etc being provided to high profile visitors. Harry and Meghan unfortunately do not have the financial muscle to leave anything tangible to the countries they visit and do not represent the British Foreign Office or the Institution of Monarchy that have the financial muscle, power and influence to make that happen. The VP of Columbia faced backlash and hence her alluding to the possibility of the visit attracting investment opportunities to the country yet that is what such a visit should have achieved upfront.
