I’m taking cosmetology my junior and senior year of high school at our career center. I start next year. Could you make a video of tips for cosmetology school.
I just graduated cosmetology school in March this year. I started my junior year and finished the year after I graduated. I went part time and took summers off plus had a family crisis so that’s why it took me so long to graduate. It’s not so bad. It’s fun. Live the best of it while you can because you’ll miss it a little after you graduate and it’s a hard business to get into. A lot people get their license then give up on working in a salon because the competition is well, competitive. Make sure to watch lots of hairstylist on youtube and take continuing education classes. There’s Sam Vay, Jessi styles, guy tang, Ashley a Garcia. Also deeper than hair, cyn doll, and manes by Mel for curly hair. I’m at a period were I wanna give up because I live in a small area so there’s not many salon opportunities around. I had a job in a salon but due to covid the owner had to let all us girls go because she just didn’t have the money anymore because all her clients were canceling so the salon wasn’t making money anymore.

@@whoopwhoop9339 I go to AVEDA and they taught us how to deal with textured hair. I think it all depends on where you want to go. Definitely look into a few cosmetology schools to see if they offer it. I also learned a lot from clients with textured hair, they're always super willing to help you learn. Most people want you to learn just as much as you do so don't give up hope on that side of things!!
Yess! I love your cos vlogs 💕 it’s so nice to actually be on campus! We jammed through a whole bunch of hands on time because we’re so ahead in theory since covid 😅 It’s so hard wearing a mask all day 😷 but it’s my 5th almost 6th week and we already did an all over color 😍 i love it so far and can’t wait to watch more of your vlogs!!

I have subscribed to your channel. Your content is interesting. Especially these day in the life of hairdresser vlogs. I dont see much people vlogging their hairdressing experience. I hope that your continue with these vlogs and education along with day and night routines that you follow to balance everything. Plus i wanted to ask something. Are hairdressing books really necessary to learn hairdressing? I mean don't you think if someone knows the bSics of hairdressing like colour theory, cutting coloring styling they are good to go? I see so many advanced video techniques of hairdressing on youtube and such good knowledge out there. I completed a 1 month hairdressing course in my country from Keune and after that i understand when i see the videos. I have now moved to melbourne and here you need to do a full on 2 year course to be a licenced hairdresser. I dont have the financial support to do that as of yet but i was thinking of buying the course books required. But they are expensive as hell. So i am giving it a good thought as whether to buy them yet or not. I was hoping to gain the base knowledge of working here so if and when i will be able to afford the course i will know a lot about this industry already. What do you say?
Zahra Hussain personally I believe the books are important because in order to get our license we have to take a hands on test and written test. Without the books its hard to do well on the written test portion

Your kit is included in the tuition so all the materials all provided. It was around $19,000 for tuition
