Being a pro skater seems awesome until you realize they gotta eat mega shit on an almost daily basis to get top notch clips.
Man.. it must be the old age creeping into my bones, but I’m honestly starting to get worried about how high and how fast these new cats are going. I don’t wanna see what I’m afraid we will eventually see.
And when you realize the pay most of them get isn't that great. Not to mention lack of health insurance. I am perfectly content to make my good money and skate my little gaps, curbs, and manny pads.

@@justinwil4365 Depends on how popular they are. Trust me when I say a ton are fucking broke. I'm in Chicago and the scene is big, and I know a few pros, ams, and people on the come up. They are not getting paid much unless their name is Shane, Luan, or Paul. Most of your favorite pros/ams are working regular jobs. I had that reality check years ago when I saw Clint Walker and some dudes parked outside of the skatepark in a ratty van. That life is not glamorous.
