Being a fellow Brit, you may get this... But whenever someone says "I'm just going to distress this", my mind repeats a line from Only Fools and Horses... Delboy has a 1950's ish cabinet that he plans to distress and sell as a Queen Anne cabinet, he says to Rodney, "I'm going to distress this" and Rodney looks at the state of the cabinet and says, "distress it...? That thing looks positively panic stricken!!!" 😂😂😂 First video of yours I've seen, just subscribed! Love these envelopes! I have a few decopatch tissue papers even though i don't decopatch! (Us crafters eh? What are we like?) But now i have a perfect project for them! Makes them super subtle and aged when layered over the book pages with the print showing through a little bit, which is more my style. I dont really like bright and new! I have also inked them before to age them then put a layer of pva over the top that dries clear and a bit crackly, but makes the paper stronger. They can then be made into pockets and look (and sound) a bit like glassine bags! Be nice to make a journal and put the envelopes and the pockets throughout to create a tissue paper theme to tie it all together! Hmmm got my mind whirling now... Pieces layered over tags, on backgrounds, layered on card and punched out to make charms or dangles or paper clips, oooh small pva piece scraps snipped into fringe to make tassels... Faux card buttons for twine closures.... Omg even paper beads!!! See what youve done now! One envelope and i have a whole journal thought up! Thanks for the inspiration! Plus this is the first time I've seen this envelope pocket idea, which is quite a feat considering how many tutorials there are! Well done you! I love them! 😘😘😘
Well I have now watched this three times very slowly and finished my Mother’s Day cards for my daughter and daughter in law! Thank you thank you thank you!
Thanks so much for this video! Lovely to see this really simple, yet effective folded envelope. Your copy paper is a bit larger than ours, but I still want to try this on it and see how it comes out. It would then fit into a mailing envelope here. Any bride and groom would welcome such a beautiful handmade card, besides the money! I thought of how receiving this could brighten the day for someone who needed it, too. I enjoyed seeing how you put the “bits and pieces” on at the end, trusting your artistic instincts. It all looks like so much fun! Wonderful!
If you add some nail polish remover to 3 in 1 it helps the flow. I really like your style. This envelope turned out great. Thank you for sharing your talent with us.
Is 3 in 1 a glue? I have some pva glue that is really hard to get out of the bottle....it has a very narrow tip which I want but can't seem to get the glue out.....so, would adding some nail polish remover help thin it out? thanks!
@@figurelogic73 3-in-1 is a glue, but is very different than PVA type glues. PVA (white glues) can be thinned with water, CLEAR glues like 3-in-1 can be thinned with acetone (like in nail polish remover). If your PVA glue won't come out of the fine tip, you can try thinning it, but also make sure the tip isn't clogged. A rust proof pin put in the tip when you are done using it can help keep it from clogging.
Thank you so much Gi, I really really love ❤️ this. Although I’ve watched this before, I really really enjoyed watching this again. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
I get butterflies when I see that you have made a video! Your style just makes me happy! These envelopes are so so pretty and I so appreciate that you share your talent and inspiration with us. Thank you so much!
Only just found you Gi! What a wonderful style you have and you are so generous to share what you've learned. I'm already using some of your fabulous ideas. Thank you so much x
Beautiful as always!!! Take a little paintbrush and some water and go around the area you want cut out, pull on it gently. It works a lot easier than trying to tear the tissue paper. And it leaves the most beautiful feathered edge. TFS
Oh this is so nice. Great of you to share, I think I would like to give this a go in the journal I am creating. Love your video's and look forward to them. Have a great day!
I am really enjoying watching your videos and you have so many creative ideas :0 Thanks for giving me ways to use up my ever abundant book pages :) Pam

Gi you have inspired me so much with all your videos. You have a real gift for teaching!! I have made so much coffee stained paper and cards and envelopes! I'm taking all my stuff that I've made following many of your tutorials to a craft show tomorrow. I'll post how it went and many be even a picture of my display. I've been trying to find my niche and I'm really hoping that I've found it. Can someone tell me what your Etsy shop is called?
