- Rinat Ibragimov plays Schumann: Adagio & Allegro in A flat major, Op. 70 (originally written for horn and piano) , transcription for d-bass by Dmitry Rogov, with Grace Mo, pianist. Rinat plays a d-bass by Matheus Albany, a gift from his colleague and friend Alexander Stepanov. He uses Pirastro Solo Eudoxa strings.

@BAJJMiller
Carcasi belongs to the LSO and is mainly used for orchestral projects . I was using it before when I could because I wasn't satisfied with the sound of Albany...untill I found Eudoxa Solo strings which transformed the sound entirely.Also for Romantic music t's more appropriate as it's sound is more open.
Rest in Peace🙏🙏😔😔
Rest in peace
That is so beautiful, it touched the deepest parts of my heart.
I play double bass too, I hope I'll ever have a tone like you...
Thank you for posting this...

Beautiful piece and interpretation. Thank you for inspiring me maestro, RIP. Greetings from Davao city! ☺️👏🇵🇭
Double bass + piano are excruciatingly wonderful on the ear... this performance I play at least once a week!
Браво Ринат,прекрасное исполнение,лучшее которое я слышал.скорейшего тебе выздоровления!!!

@Clonkers223
I'm curious as to how you came about thinking the sheet music to be printed in A major, If his strings were tuned to F,Bb,Eb,Ab, its as if he was playing it in G major (hence the use of open strings and harmonics)... right?
Wonderful ~!
I have asked Rinat Ibragimov, he replied that they are gut core strings.
One question. On Rinat's website, it specifies he uses a Carcasi bass, yet here he uses an Albany. What influences his choices on basses for a specific project?
Hey, little late to the party, but I remember him saying that new strings really opened up the Albany
Grande!!!!!
Great!
OK, OK, his own bass does sound better than that borrowed one. Still, his playing both shows that the beauty coming out of the instrument is mostly his mastery, not the instrument or the bow.
During our class transitions in school, this song plays.
Can I get the sheets of this transcription?
The first note disturbed because of the different key but that' s beautiful on double basse, deeper.
Does any one else believe his strings to being tuned to F,Bb,Eb,Ab?
Im almost positive they are.
He's playing it a half step up
The lowest note in the whole thing would be an Eb......At least I'd tune the low E string down to that.
Brutal

I'm playing this piece on bass like Joel Quarrington: in 5ths tuning, up a major third (C major)
PAX!
you must have a depressing school
