I have never played this song in Drop-D tuning. I don't know why because all of Denver's recordings are in Drop-D. Love your finger picking. We do that almost the same, but I do hit the "B" (in this key) in the solo in the middle. Great job buddy.

Yeah, I wish I'd had the tab when I learned this! It would have helped! I just had to figure out my own arrangement by watching John play it.... a billion times.... hahahaha!

I genuinely appreciate this feedback. I figured out a few years back that my timing in this tune is in need of a revisit and a revision. You've inspired me to go back and retrain my fingers to hit the correct bass notes and the right counts in this ol' tune I learned way back in the 90's. If memory serves me correctly, I believe this was my first youtube video and I basically went with my first or second take. Yes this is just plain old drop D tuning with capo on 1st fret. I believe the guitar was tuned 1/2 step flat to start with also. thanks all!
