    Greetings Henry👋🏽 It is always a delight for me to see your videos from the Model moments series and to see your Racks filled with your models✔️🥰✈️
    That CP Air 737 is in excellent condition for being 55 years old (I was in second grade) when they built that magnificent fiberglass model at that scale👍🏽
    If it falls into my hands, I equip it with the strobe and flashing light system. obviously before repairing those details and touching up that paint and it looks great 😉👌🏽✔️☺️ it is definitely a good restoration project to last another 55 years🫶🏽😅

    This is the first time ive seen the large maple leaf flag next to the CP Air name. Neat.ive always like the CP Air orange with mulitmark logo.

    • @JetFlix
      @JetFlix  หลายเดือนก่อน

      They had the Canadian flag there by the nose on delivery of this particular aircraft as I know that from photos that I own. I can’t see how long it took for CP to remove the flag from the nose and put it by the tail by the registration.

    New subscriber, greetings from Miami! Love the channel. Speaking of 737-200, remember ZIP Canada? The planes had solid color liveries. I was at Tamiami airport here in Miami and saw C-GCPN prior to it being sold to a Venezuelan airline in like 2007 or so. I remember walking around the plane at night as my friend worked at the airport. I still have cell phone pics of the plane. Do you remember this airline and this plane in particular?

    • @JetFlix
      @JetFlix  3 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Absolutely I remember them well .. I have videos on zip here on my channel one of which went viral and has over 1 million views. It might even be 2 million views. Thank you so much for joining my channel and I really appreciate your comment and enthusiasm. Wishing you all the very best.

    Orange is beautiful

    1968 was the year Canadian Pacific introduced the mulitmark logo for the various division companies and bright colors for each division like red for CP Rail, orange for CP Air, green for Ships and etc. While not the greatest image makeover, compared to Canadian National Railways, it still stood out.

    • @JetFlix
      @JetFlix  หลายเดือนก่อน

      You’re absolutely right. The CP Air livery in 1968 was such a great change from the previous red, white and blue livery. And you’re right they had variations of delivery for the other associate transport companies.

    A little large for my space, but beautiful piece. Too bad cp was swallowed up

    • @JetFlix
      @JetFlix  หลายเดือนก่อน

      The CP orange and red wave is certainly one of the most iconic airline paint schemes ever. And it is a shame that it ceased to exist when the company was purchased by Pacific Western in 87.

    Wondering if the prototype exists today Henry?

      If you’re referring to the prototype Boeing 737 actual airplane I think it’s been scrapped.

    Think twice about repainting it - it might devalue it but also the various imperfections demonstrate it's age and can be quite a unique and distinctive feature.

    • @peteoutwest6839
      @peteoutwest6839 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That is why I didn't repaint an AC L-1011 floor model in the red livery in my collection that has crazed paint. I feel that original is always preferable, plus it is a very old model, so why should it be perfect?

    • @alannewman85
      @alannewman85 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, all part of its vintage appeal!

    • @JetFlix
      @JetFlix  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Of course I’ll never get to do that because the model is going to another collector so it’s a bit of a moot point. I was just saying if I continued to own the model I would refinish it. Refinishing Models is always a personal decision.

    • @peteoutwest6839
      @peteoutwest6839 29 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@JetFlix You probably are right. A question though for you Henry, if you had to appraise a model, would refinishing affect its value, and if so, how?

    • @JetFlix
      @JetFlix  26 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@peteoutwest6839 this is an excellent question. It really depends on the model and it’s level of deterioration and how much restoration is required. If a model has extensive deterioration, then a full restoration would involve thiusands of dollars labour invested so this would drastically increase the value of the model by the labour investment. In this particular case, the model is very large, so transportation costs are very high. So the owner would have to make the investment being in physical possession of the model because this model cannot easily be shipped around without massive costs. A much smaller model will have less of a transportation cost involved in any possible restorations, so the equation is different for smaller models than huge models like this. So for this particular model restoration will be a decision for the new owner once it arrives at his location.

    To be strictly accurate , the flag was never on the nose however

    • @JetFlix
      @JetFlix  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If you look back at original photos of the FIN 701 on the Seattle assembly line, you’ll see that the Canadian flag was in fact on the nose so this was the plan .. and it was thus depicted on the model. I can’t say when the flag was removed, but I can’t say with certainty the flag was there on delivery.

    Henry, how do you work out the scale of a model?

    • @JetFlix
      @JetFlix  26 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You measure the model in inches, and you compare the inch length of the model to the inch length of the actual aircraft. Total actual inches divided by total model inches equals scale.

    What is the value of this model

  • @rogerkober9836
    @rogerkober9836 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Model appears to be approx 3 feet long, a 737-200 is approx 100 feet long….. 1/20 scale you say???? 3 x 20 =60

    • @JetFlix
      @JetFlix  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think I said in my video the model is 57 inches long so that’s just under 5 feet and that does peg the model exactly at 1:20 scale.
