Yellowstone Accommodation (Lodging and Camping): • YELLOWSTONE ACCOMMODAT...
Yellowstone National Park is located in Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho. Here are a few reasons why Yellowstone is a great place to travel:
Spectacular Geothermal Features: Yellowstone is renowned for its geothermal activity, boasting over 10,000 hot springs, geysers, and mud pots. The most famous geyser, Old Faithful, erupts regularly and attracts visitors with its mesmerizing displays. The park's colorful hot springs, such as the Grand Prismatic Spring, create an otherworldly landscape that's perfect for photography enthusiasts.
Diverse Wildlife: Yellowstone is home to an incredible array of wildlife, including grizzly bears, wolves, elk, bison, and moose. The park provides a sanctuary for these animals, allowing visitors the opportunity to observe them in their natural habitats. The Lamar Valley is particularly renowned for its wildlife sightings, offering the chance to spot wolves and bison herds.
Breathtaking Scenery: The park's scenic beauty is unparalleled, with majestic mountains, pristine lakes, and winding rivers. The iconic Yellowstone Lake, one of the largest high-elevation lakes in North America, offers boating, fishing, and picturesque views. The Yellowstone River, famous for its dramatic waterfalls like the Lower Falls of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, provides awe-inspiring vistas.
Outdoor Adventures: Yellowstone caters to outdoor enthusiasts, offering a wide range of activities. Hiking trails of varying difficulty levels lead to stunning vistas, cascading waterfalls, and hidden geothermal gems. Fishing, camping, horseback riding, and boating opportunities abound, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the park's natural splendor.
Unique Geological Phenomena: Yellowstone sits atop a supervolcano, resulting in a geologically diverse landscape. The park encompasses the Yellowstone Caldera, a massive volcanic crater. The Norris Geyser Basin, Mammoth Hot Springs, and the Yellowstone Grand Canyon showcase the park's geological wonders, allowing visitors to witness the Earth's geological processes firsthand.
Rich Cultural and Historical Significance: Yellowstone has a rich cultural heritage, with evidence of human presence dating back over 11,000 years. The park preserves historical structures, such as the Old Faithful Inn, which showcases rustic architecture from the early 20th century. The Yellowstone Heritage and Research Center provides insights into the park's history, Native American culture, and ongoing research.

Thank you for making this video! Taking my Husband to Jackson, Grand Teton, and Yellowstone. I don't want to overwhelm myself since we are only there for 5 days. Watching your video made my to-do list smaller and we plan on coming back again. Also sub to your channel and looking forward to more videos.

Thank you very much for the nice comments (I appreciate them) and "subbing." I hope you really enjoy the Wyoming area - five days isn't enough for the whole area of course (I go almost every year and it feels like I haven't seen that much). I don't know what your itinerary is but definitely don't shortchange Grand Teton or Jackson (love Grand Teton - so beautiful). Have a great time!

@@traveleaz Where would you stay near Grand Teton? Not looking for 1000.00 a night but don’t want to find bed bugs either

    • @traveleaz

@@Matt.Jernigan I would stay in the Jackson area. I think Fireside Resort is awesome, particularly if you have more than 2 people (but the same is true if you have two people) - it's not cheap but it's fun (but obviously not close to $1000 a night!). Rendevous Mountain Rental is great too (I "think" we got our condo last year for around $400/night - and it was a two bedroom with a kitchen in the Aspen's area). This group rents out condos (like a VRBO) but they are local and know the area really well. They have staff who can help if something ever goes wrong. So - these are my two suggestions (nothing is cheap in Jackson or GTNP). We have used them 3 or 4 times - each time was great. If you want cheaper, Driggs in Idaho is very nice but it adds about another 45 minutes to your drive if you want to go to GTNP.

Personally I have two recommendations (mainly for Yellowstone) First - if you see something just off the road that you didn’t know was there, even if it doesn’t look to interesting, go there. Secondly - while spending time at the geyser basins, spend more time than you normally would. I would recommend if you have the patience, spending an entire day for ONLY the old faithful area. Most of the geysers there only erupt once or twice a day, so many of the people who run through the loop (metaphorically speaking) skip, or miss, so many different things.

Thank you very much for the comment. I'm so glad you went to Yellowstone - and yes, it's still busy (but not nearly as busy in July or August). I love the Bison and I'm so happy you were able to see them. They are so beautiful in the wild. I also hope you go to Banff. I'm heading there again in a couple of weeks (so several more videos to come).

Thank you for making these videos, they’re very useful. What sort of itinerary would you recommend to see Yellowstone, Grand Teton, and Jackson Wy for a week?

    • @traveleaz
      @traveleaz  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Thank you for the comment - I had to think about this one. My itinerary might look a little different than others but, I would allocate 3 days to Yellowstone and 4 days to Grand Teton and Jackson. I think some might prefer 4 days in Yellowstone. Yellowtone: Day 1: Geysers and Hot Springs (Old Faithful, Upper Geyser Basin, Grand Prismatic Spring and Norris Geyser Basin). Probably staying in Canyon Village is a good idea. Day 2: Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone and Hayden Valley (you can stay in Canyon Village or even West Yellowstone). Day 3: Mammoth Hot Springs and Lamar Valley. Best to stay in Mammoth Hot Springs Village.
Grand Teton and Jackson: I would spend two days exploring the Park and two days in Jackson. Grand Teton: Day 1: Sunrise are either Schwabacher Landing or Mormon Row and then head to Moose Wilson road (beautiful and good area for animals). Don't forget the visitor center or Chapel of the Transfiguration. Day 2: Start at Jenny Lake then drive the Loop and visit Oxbow Bend, Jackson Lake Lodge and Signal Mountain.
Jackson: I would spend a morning in town and the Western Art Musuem. I would also spend a day (or less) at Teton Village and catch the tram to the top.
This is brief and off the top of my head but I hope it gives you some ideas.
