Tip one hits home. So much truth. Thanks Jamie! I'm on E Med rotation now and it's so hard to find time between all the duties we have but I tell myself exactly what you said "You signed up for it you have to make it work!" All the best for Family Med.
What are your tips for learning things for long-term?? I am in my first semester of medical school and doing well but realized I've forgotten so much for our cumulative exams coming up! I can't imagine remembering it for Step!! I don't cram, keep up with the material, and I've only taken maybe 2 days totally off from studying to refresh. Good luck on rotations! I love your videos and you're amazing! Thanks!
ahh there's just something that's so satisfying about watching someone sincerely study :) its just really comforting and motivating at the same time. devoted subbie right here ♥ you have all my love jamie :*
i really love this channel; everything is so professional put togethe and succinct and more importantly it not only feeds the curious nature but it also gives you something to take away with you and use in your student life - many thank from the UK
I really like your style of vlogging! Different camera perspectives to capture the mood and ambiance of your casual lifestyle really emphasizes the authenticity of your personality and environment. Thanks!
🍍😺✌️Happy Saturday! Just hearing you list out how you organize your studying helps alot! Trying to remind myself that I should study like it's my job is the hardest part I think it's because i don't get any immediate reward but i try to reward myself with frequent small snack breaks or just a break. Thanks for the video!
i used to be a descent student. schedule and schedule used to help me and keep my brain cool. but a few incidents in my life tore me completely. i can't put things together like before. i m having a hard time couping with new me. or the devastation. unfortunately i don't have 'the best friend circle' type of people around me. so its getting more challenging. they don't understand and i don't trust them. trying to make a fresh thinking. and looking for help at the same time.
I do "Hello Fresh" too! I usually alter the recipes they suggest and add a bit of my own to the dish. Love it! Useful for me to try since I'm studying culinary arts. Also your video's are getting better!
just subscribed to your channel and I totally relate to all of your tips especially tip #1. my friends said I study too early and actually makes fun of me by saying I won't do well no matter how early I prepare for my exam and I just kept quiet because I know I will prove them wrong because I've consistently been studying and they are partying (':
I love to say my notes out loud as well, it helps me memorize. Do you ever find it difficult to study in public spaces like coffee shops and libraries because you can't speak out your notes in those situations?
I whisper things to myself in public spaces if needed haha- otherwise I try to reserve public space studying for questions or other tasks that don't involve talking out loud
Always love your video! You keep me motivated socially and academically. Quick question - can you do a 50 fact about me video? Just a suggestion😊 good luck Jamie! Love you❣️
Hello! I was curious...are all the med school text available for download onto my tablet or labtop yet? Netters and the like? When I contemplated going to med school more than 10 years ago the books were not and lecture notes were still being taken each semester and copied for the whole class- at a price. Thanks, lovely channel by the way! carney
Do you ever get student elbow from sitting and studying too long? I'm doing biomedical undergrad and I'm already having a mild form of this condition ) ; how does everyone survive med school physically?
which book/website do u use to study questions from ? in medical school we study different topics in a week , how can i search for question only for the topics that i studied for within a week?
hey there ! super nice video btw , can you like make a video when you give us a few healthy quick recipes ? it gets really hard sometimes to cook or anything since it's super busy :)
I love your videos! Im thinking of starting my pre-reqs for medical school but it's a tough decision with kids and I'm also 41! What planner/agenda do you use? I caught a glimpse of it on this video as you were talking about writing your priorities. Thanks!
One problem tho: I study for my human anatomy exam. My teacher's exams are mostly from lecture notes and what he talks about in class. I don't know where to find practice questions for concepts thought in this manner.
I have a serious question. I'm starting college in nyc next year and I am going the pre-med route. I know a couple of people who are already in med school or on the pre-med route. the thing is I heard that it's good for you get emt certification and work as an emt during your college years to boost your profile. I'm really curious about this. I know people who have done research, emt, and having really good mcat and gpa. It would be really cool if Jamie answered due to her living close to the city and possibly being able to relate to this. I am really conflicted on the whole emt vs non-emt. (this is also disregarding the fact that I need to do internships, research, hospital volunteering, etc.) thanks
Came across your VLOG I must say your great at studying when it comes to studying.. I need to know how to stay focused.. when I need to study.. what breaks up my studying is my work schedule I'm a 3 on and 3 off for work days.. when I work 3 days I loose focus of and can't stay focused to studying I'm on my days off.. if you can please help me with this thank you so much..

Hi, I randomly stumbled across your channel and found it interesting and have been watching a few of your videos in a row now. You mentioned that doing practice questions helps you to learn more sometimes than reading the text. Would you have any recommendations on how a person may find the practice questions? You said you see a lot of your "residents do [the listing tip] during your rotations" - does this mean you are an RA?
After you highlight do you just reread it or make guides?
Could you explain what 'questions' are sorry if this sounds like a dumb question. Thank you
